Guide

Unsere Firma comes from Berlin-Moabit (Stromstraße 21) and drives around 456 km via the A9, A3 and A73 to Fürth.

Fürth has around 131,000 inhabitants and lies right next to Nuremberg; north-west of the old town, the Rednitz and Pegnitz rivers join to form the Regnitz. For a move to Fürth, the address counts: narrow streets in the old town around the Fürther Freiheit, old buildings in the Südstadt or houses in Burgfarrnbach and Vach. We plan your private move to Fürth from the survey to the last box – with a parking restriction zone and furniture assembly.

Your
move, our craft

Well planned and reliable

A move to Fürth brings some typical issues with it: parking restrictions and residents' parking in the densely built-up city centre, choosing the right district for family or work, and registering at one of the citizens' centres within two weeks. On top of that there are roadworks that change access, and bulky waste before moving out. This guide explains the steps one by one. If you are coming from Berlin, you will find the planning of the route to Franconia on our long-distance moves page.

Planning safely and calmly

With a schedule worked backwards from moving-in day – notice, parking restriction, packing dates, registration at the citizens' centre – your private move, senior move or student move to Fürth stays manageable.

Furniture, boxes, carrying routes

With our packing service, careful furniture transport and a suitable small transport, furniture gets even into the narrow streets of the old town or old buildings in the Südstadt of Fürth without long carrying distances.

Costs, timing and special cases

Volume, floor and the route of around 456 km determine the price; for an office move, company relocation, part load or furniture taxi to Fürth, we quote a fixed price after the survey.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about moving to Fürth

Costs, districts, route, parking restrictions, registration and bulky waste – answered briefly.
The cost of a move to Fürth depends on the size of your home, the floor, access and the route – from Berlin it is around 456 km. Our guide prices by number of rooms and the per-kilometre price can be found in the price overview above. With a fixed price after a survey you receive a binding calculation in advance, in which the parking restriction and additional services are listed separately.

Fürth's districts at a glance

Fürth, called the cloverleaf city (Kleeblattstadt) because of its coat of arms, is divided into three city districts with 18 statistical districts. The old town around the Fürther Freiheit and the Grüner Markt and the city centre offer short distances; the Südstadt is characterised by late-19th-century old buildings. Poppenreuth and Ronhof are quieter residential areas, and the Hardhöhe in the west is a large residential estate.

Burgfarrnbach, with its palace, and Unterfarrnbach lie in the west, Stadeln and Vach in the north; there is also Dambach. There is a suitable district for every lifestyle – urban, green or historic. For the move, the specific address counts; we plan access and floor for your private move in advance.

Housing market, employers & quality of life in Fürth

We do not give specific rents in Fürth, because they depend heavily on location and condition. Companies headquartered in Fürth include the safety equipment maker uvex, the Leonhard Kurz Stiftung, the toy manufacturers Simba-Dickie and Bruder and the confectionery manufacturer Trolli; since 2016 the Bavarian State Office for Statistics has also been based here. Via underground line U1 and S-Bahn lines S1 and S6, Fürth is closely connected to Nuremberg; with the U1 you reach Nuremberg's city centre without changing, and commuters often do not need a car of their own.

For leisure there is the Stadtpark, the Jewish Museum of Franconia and the old town with the Fürther Freiheit and Grüner Markt; the Playmobil FunPark is in neighbouring Zirndorf. The compact size of the city means short distances, and the proximity to Nuremberg means big-city amenities. We accompany your move to Fürth from the survey to reassembly.

What will you pay for your move?

Saving costs starts with the right planning. Our prices start at €354 for a 1-room flat. For 2 rooms the starting price is €589, for 3 rooms €884 and for 4 rooms €1,309. We calculate larger properties such as villas or houses individually. Long-distance moves are no problem either – here we charge from €4.10 per kilometre. Get no-obligation advice as part of a free survey.

What does the price of my move depend on?

First, the volume counts – the more household goods, the higher the costs. The distance is charged from €4.10/km. A floor without a lift and a required parking restriction zone also increase the effort. Furniture assembly and part load are also worth considering as additional services.

Tailor-made moving solutions

Every move is different – that is why we offer flexible services.

  1. Furniture transport – for single pieces of furniture or entire flats.
  2. Moving with assembly – including assembly and dismantling.
  3. Private move – personal and reliable.
  4. Company relocation – without interrupting operations.
  5. Clearance – quick and discreet.
  6. Part load – the affordable choice.

Road traffic office, parking and access when moving in Fürth

In Fürth, the road traffic authority within the road traffic office (Straßenverkehrsamt) is responsible for traffic regulations and signage. According to the BayernPortal, it regulates moving and stationary traffic; you can find it at Schwabacher Straße 170, 90763 Fürth, by phone on 0911 974-2250 or by email at [email protected]. On the city's website, the road traffic office states opening hours by appointment. Ask there about the application, lead time and fees for a parking restriction on moving day before scheduling, because the city sets these details.

Residents' parking: anyone moving to Fürth can obtain a residents' parking permit on application. According to the city, it entitles you to park in the assigned area but does not guarantee a specific parking space. There are overviews for the city centre, the Südstadt and the outer areas as well as a street index; information is available from [email protected] or 0911 974-2257.

Roadworks on the way: the city reports current roadworks and closures on fuerth.de. Closed junctions, diversions or changed one-way systems can alter access to the city centre for large removal vehicles; we therefore check the roadworks situation before the appointment.

The city also lists several multi-storey car parks, for example at the Stadthalle, in the Hornschuch-Center and on Mathildenstraße. Further guidance is provided on our pages Moving company Fürth and Parking restriction zone.

Re-registration and bulky waste in Fürth after moving in

Anyone moving into a home in Fürth must, according to the city, register with the registration authority within two weeks of moving in. The two citizens' centres are responsible: Bürgerzentrum Nord at Stadelner Hauptstraße 96 (telephone 0911 974-2395) and Bürgerzentrum Süd at Schwabacher Straße 170 (telephone 0911 974-2323), both reachable via [email protected]. The city offers electronic residence registration and on-site appointments.

Bulky waste: twice a year you can apply for a chargeable bulky waste collection, according to the city fastest online. The municipal waste management collects for a call-out fee of 20 euros; disposal at the recycling centres is free of charge. How to prepare for the collection:

  • Put out bulky items, freely accessible, by 6.30 am, preferably on private land.
  • Sort into four categories: wooden furniture, bulky household items, electrical appliances and metals.
  • Bulky items are collected at ground level, free of steps, up to 15 metres from private land.
  • A contact person must be on site during the collection; you pay the fee in cash on site.

You can offer furniture in good condition on the city's swap and give-away exchange. Contact: bulky waste management, 0911 974-2091, [email protected]. In the guide Living in Fürth you will find further tips for the first few weeks.

Always one step ahead.
