Rostock on the Warnow: 221 km on the A24 and A19 to Rostock-Süd

Removal company Berlin
Through the Lake District to the Warnow: your move to Rostock
All the way to the Warnow
If you are moving from Moabit to the Warnow, we start at Stromstraße 21 and first take the A111 out of the city, switch onto the ring road at the Oranienburg interchange and onto the A24 at the Havelland interchange. After Wittstock/Dosse the A19 takes over: Röbel/Müritz, Waren and Güstrow pass by until the lorry leaves at the Rostock-Süd exit after around 221 km and approx. 3 hrs. Beste Umzug Unternehmen only fixes the fixed price – guide price from €930 – once the load volume is known; it covers loading, the drive and unloading. For damage, liability under the HGB applies (§ 451e: €620 per cubic metre of load space), in the opposite direction to the Spree as well.
A Gründerzeit building in the Kröpeliner-Tor-Vorstadt calls for different carrying routes than a prefab block in Lütten Klein, and a Berlin side wing different ones again. That is why we look at your household goods beforehand – in your flat or by video call – and then decide on the lorry size and the number of packers. You can add assembly, boxes and padding for glass and electronics as needed. We answer questions by phone on 01625978461. The team starts in Berlin and stays until the last box in Rostock; we apply for the loading zones at both addresses.

Why Rostock fits into one moving day
From the A111 to Rostock-Süd – and back again
Our lorry comes from Moabit and stops right at the entrance of your new Rostock building – on Doberaner Platz in the Kröpeliner-Tor-Vorstadt, between the rows of houses in Reutershagen or at the river mouth in Warnemünde. The 221 km are almost entirely motorway; with approx. 3 hrs of pure driving time the driver stays below the 4.5-hour driving-time limit after which a break becomes mandatory. Whether loading, the route and unloading fit into one working day for your cubic metres is clear after the survey – together with the fixed price and liability under the HGB. Outbound to the Baltic or homeward to Berlin: you always speak to the same person.

Move
planning Berlin ↔ Rostock
A move to Rostock comes with paperwork: registration with the Hanseatic city's registration office within two weeks of moving in (§ 17 Federal Registration Act, Bundesmeldegesetz), cancelling electricity and internet in Berlin, the handover report for the old flat. We clarify with you the loading zones in both cities, the schedule for loading and unloading, kitchen dismantling and the number of boxes, and we arrange storage if there are days between moving out and moving in. The same list applies to the way from Rostock back to Berlin, just the other way round.

Rostock and Berlin: questions from planning
University, port, Baltic: why Rostock – and back to Berlin
A move from Berlin to Rostock takes you to the largest city in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the state's only major city. Common reasons are a university place at the University of Rostock, founded in 1419, a job around the port of Rostock or in the maritime economy, or simply life on the Warnow with the Baltic on the doorstep: in Warnemünde, where the Warnow flows into the sea, is the cruise port. Families look for more space in districts such as Reutershagen or the Südstadt. We organise this move with a fixed price and a vehicle suited to the size of your move.
The move from Rostock to Berlin is just as common, for instance when a job change to the capital is coming up, studies are finished or family and friends live in Berlin. The larger job market and the cultural offer are strong arguments. We plan the way back just like the outbound route: survey in Rostock, fixed price, one team right to the new door in Berlin, parking restriction zone via the district office.
221 km via the A24 and A19: route, driving time and process
From Stromstraße 21 to Rostock it is around 221 kilometres. The lorry drives north on the A111, onto the Berlin ring road (A10) at the Oranienburg interchange, onto the A24 at the Havelland interchange and onto the A19 at the Wittstock/Dosse interchange. Between Wittstock and Röbel/Müritz lies the longest gap between two junctions in Germany; after that the route runs through the Lake District, over the Petersdorf bridge near Malchow and past Güstrow to the Rostock-Süd exit. Removal lorries over 3.5 t drive at a maximum of 80 km/h on the motorway (§ 18(5) StVO): approx. 3 hrs of lorry driving time, below the 4.5 hours after which EU Regulation 561/2006 requires a break.
If the new address is east of the Unterwarnow – in Gehlsdorf, Dierkow or Toitenwinkel – we choose the approach depending on the location: over the bridges in the city centre or through the Warnow tunnel between Schmarl and Oldendorf, which has been subject to a toll since 2003. Then we unload and, if desired, set up. Whether everything fits into one day is clear after the survey.
From the KTV to Warnemünde: arriving in Rostock
Rostock is an independent city and stretches on both sides of the Warnow to the Baltic. Of its 31 neighbourhoods, the Kröpeliner-Tor-Vorstadt and the Südstadt belong to the Mitte local office, Reutershagen and the Hansaviertel to the west; in the north-west lie Evershagen, Lütten Klein, Lichtenhagen and Warnemünde at the mouth of the Warnow, in the east Gehlsdorf, Dierkow and Toitenwinkel. In period buildings we check the stairwell and access; in blocks with a lift we plan the lift times. In Warnemünde we expect more traffic in the season.
In the city centre, Neuer Markt and Doberaner Platz are closed to through traffic and Kröpeliner Straße is a pedestrian zone – there we clarify in advance from which side the lorry may approach the building. For the opposite direction: anyone moving back to the Spree almost always needs a loading zone in front of the Berlin building; we apply for it at the responsible district office, coordinated with your moving-in day.
Guide prices for Rostock by cubic metres
How expensive the way to the Warnow becomes is decided mainly by the number of cubic metres – the direction plays no role. These figures are only a rough guide:
| Your household | roughly this much load space | Guide price |
|---|---|---|
| Student room, 1 room | 10–15 m³ | from €350 |
| Couple, 2 rooms | 20–25 m³ | from €590 |
| Small family, 3 rooms | 30–40 m³ | from €890 |
| Family, 4 rooms | 45–60 m³ | from €1,290 |
| Terraced or detached house | from 60 m³ | after inventory |
Based on the 221 km between Moabit and Rostock-Süd, the guide price is from €930, there and back. We write the fixed amount into your quote after a free survey.
Cubic metres, floor, Warnemünde season: what moves the price
The volume has the strongest effect, followed by the route: for the roughly 221 km to Rostock we charge from €4/km. On top come the floor and a missing lift – in a five-storey GDR block without a lift the team carries for longer – plus furniture assembly and the loading zone. With few goods, a part load lowers the costs.
Building blocks for the way to the Warnow
You choose what we take on – individually or as a package, to Rostock as well as back:
- Private move – from the Berlin rear building to the flat on the Warnow
- Company move – offices and laboratories with a seating plan and a weekend date
- Furniture transport – piano, wardrobe or display cabinet as a single item
- Part load – a few pieces of furniture on a trip via the A19
- Move with assembly – dismantle on the Spree, set up on the Baltic
- Clearance – cellar and attic empty before the lorry sets off
