Stuttgart in its valley basin: 631 km to Zuffenhausen then down

Removal company Berlin
From flat Berlin to the hillside
Basin and slope
A move from Berlin to Stuttgart is one of the longer routes within Germany: from our base at Stromstraße 21 in Moabit it is around 631 kilometres to the south-west. So that you have a reliable price for it, we set the fixed price after a free survey – in your flat or by video. Our team handles packing, dismantling, loading and unloading and furniture assembly in Stuttgart. Whether a private household or an office: we clarify volume, floors and carrying distances at both addresses beforehand.
The route runs along the A9 to the Nuremberg-East interchange, then on the A6 to Weinsberg and on the A81 to Stuttgart. Because a removal lorry over 3.5 t drives at a maximum of 80 km/h on the motorway, we reckon with approx. 9 hrs of driving including a break. We are liable for damage under the HGB, and optional additional insurance is available on request. Whether an outward move to Stuttgart or a return move to Berlin – we plan both directions with the same thoroughness.

Process
Berlin – Stuttgart
Around your Berlin-Stuttgart move we take care of everything beyond the drive itself: packing, furniture assembly and dismantling, and the parking restriction zone (Halteverbotszone) at both addresses. On request there is also storage, house clearance or a part load for small quantities. For the roughly 631 km we also plan in the drivers' driving time. That way you get your move between Berlin and Stuttgart from a single source.

Basin, deadlines and the way back
From Berlin to the Stuttgart car region – and back
A move from Berlin to Stuttgart often has professional reasons, such as a new job with major employers in the region like Porsche, Mercedes-Benz or Bosch. Students who get a place at the University of Stuttgart or the University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule für Technik) also move to the state capital of Baden-Württemberg. We handle the complete transport of your household goods over the roughly 631 kilometres, carefully packed and delivered on the agreed date.
Conversely, many decide on a return move from Stuttgart to Berlin – back to their home city, for a job in Berlin's start-up scene or for family reasons. The capital's wide cultural offering also plays a role. As a Berlin company, we plan for the period buildings with rear courtyards and side wings that many people move back into, and organise this route just like the outward one, including packing, transport and furniture assembly.
631 km: the A81 to Zuffenhausen, then over the Pragsattel
We start at Stromstraße 21 and drive via the A100, AVUS and the Berlin ring road onto the A9, past Leipzig, Hof and Bayreuth to the Nuremberg-East interchange. On the A6 there follow around 151 km via Ansbach, Crailsheim and Schwäbisch Hall to the Weinsberg interchange. The A81 takes the lorry around 38 km further, past Ludwigsburg to Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. From there the federal road leads over the Pragsattel down into the valley basin – or, depending on the address, directly into the northern districts. Around 631 km in total.
Lorries over 3.5 t drive at a maximum of 80 km/h on the motorway (§ 18 (5) StVO), and after four and a half hours at the latest a 45-minute break is mandatory (EU Regulation 561/2006). Without traffic jams the pure driving time stays just under the daily limit of nine hours; we reckon with approx. 9 hrs including the break. With loading and unloading on the hillside one driver is not enough – we drive with two or over two days. The same applies to Stuttgart → Berlin.
Arriving in the basin: hillside locations, Stäffele, 23 districts
Stuttgart lies largely in a valley basin that opens towards the Neckar. Between the lowest and highest point of the city there are around 350 metres. Sought-after residential locations on the slopes are called „Halbhöhenlage“ (mid-slope) here, and more than 400 public stairways, the Stäffele, connect streets that cars can only reach via hairpin bends. The city has 23 districts; Bad Cannstatt on the Neckar has the most residents, while it gets quieter in Degerloch, Vaihingen or Möhringen on the Filder plateau. For us that means: we do not plan without photos of the street and entrance.
We apply for the parking restriction at the Public Order Office at least two weeks before the date; the signs must be in place at least three full calendar days beforehand. You must register within two weeks at a citizens' office. On the way back to Berlin, the district office is responsible there.
What the Berlin – Stuttgart route costs
For orientation, before we have seen your household: the table shows roughly where flat sizes start – for a move to Stuttgart as well as for the route from Stuttgart to Berlin:
| Flat size | Volume | Price from |
|---|---|---|
| 1-room flat | 10–15 m³ | from €350 |
| 2-room flat | 20–25 m³ | from €590 |
| 3-room flat | 30–40 m³ | from €890 |
| 4-room flat | 45–60 m³ | from €1,290 |
| House / villa | from 60 m³ | individual quote |
For the route itself – around 631 km via the A9, A6 and A81 – we start from €2,450, the same in both directions. Long carrying distances on the hillside or over Stäffele are included in the quote. Everything becomes binding after a free survey.
Cubic metres, kilometres, metres of altitude: the price
The main part is the volume. Then comes the distance, around 631 km at a price per kilometre. In Stuttgart the carrying distance also counts: stairs on the hillside, floor, lift. Extras such as furniture assembly or the parking restriction are listed separately in the quote. For just a few items, a part load is cheaper.

Arrange a survey for Stuttgart
Get in touch on 01625978461 or via the contact form. We survey your household in Berlin or by video and ask you to send photos of the Stuttgart address – street, entrance, stairs. After that we give you the fixed price for the 631 km, with liability under the HGB and optional additional insurance on request. For the way out of the basin back to Berlin we proceed in the same way and apply for the parking restriction in good time.
