Through the Kinzig valley to the Main: moving Berlin – Hanau

To the mouth of the Kinzig

Unsere Firma Beyond Fulda the lorry takes the Kinzig Valley motorway to Hanau – loading time, break and arrival window are fixed before moving day.

A move from Berlin to Hanau covers around 544 km right across the middle of Germany. From our base at Stromstraße 21 in Moabit, the lorry takes the A9 to the Hermsdorf interchange, the A4 through Thuringia into Hesse and, at the Kirchheim junction, 46 km of the A7 south to the Fulda junction. There the A66 begins, leading down the Kinzig valley past Schlüchtern and Gelnhausen to Hanau. With the moving lorry that is approx. 8 hrs of driving including a break.

As a guide price we quote from €1,960; the binding amount is the fixed price after the survey. Whether a job change to the Rhine-Main region or a return to the capital: we pack, load, drive and reassemble – in both directions.

On request we take care of packing and unpacking, dismantle the kitchen and built-in wardrobes and reassemble them in Hanau, and transport a piano or art with its own space in the lorry. We come from Berlin and drive right to the door in Hanau, whether in Kesselstadt, Großauheim or Steinheim; we clarify access and parking space in advance using your photos. We are liable for damage under the German Commercial Code (§ 451e HGB: €620 per cubic metre of loading space); optional additional insurance is available on request.

PART LOAD KINZIG VALLEY

Part load through the Kinzig valley

For small volumes to Hanau

An armchair, a shelf, ten boxes – that does not justify a lorry of your own to the Kinzig valley. With a part load, your belongings travel along on a tour that is heading via Fulda towards Rhine-Main anyway, or from Hanau to Berlin. You pay for the loading space used; there is no fixed timetable, so we give you a time window as soon as a suitable tour is confirmed.

How
we plan your move to Hanau

Parking restriction, packing, assembly – there and back

For a long-distance move Berlin Hanau we take care of the details: parking restriction zones at both addresses, packing material, the safe transport of bulky furniture as well as dismantling and furniture assembly. After moving in, you register in Hanau within two weeks – an ID document and the landlord confirmation (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung) are enough. On request, a cellar clearance, piano transport or a part load for individual items can be added.

Dates and deadlines

Notice of termination, survey and loading day belong on one shared list – that keeps your private move, senior move or student move to Hanau manageable.

Packing and furniture

With packing service, furniture transport and, if needed, a small transport, your household goods get safely over the A66; we clarify carrying distance and parking space in Hanau in advance.

Companies and extras

Office move, company move, part load or furniture taxi: the price depends on volume, floors and distance and is fixed after the survey.

Moving to Hanau: questions and answers

Brothers Grimm town and back: answers

Kinzig Valley motorway, driving time, parking restrictions in the independent city and costs – answers about Hanau and the way back to Berlin.
As a guide price we quote from €1,960 for the roughly 544 km. The fixed price results from volume, floors, carrying distances and extras such as packing service or a parking restriction. You receive it in writing after a survey in your flat or by video, with no later surcharges for the driving time.

To the Rhine-Main region for work – and back

Many people move from Berlin to Hanau because they are starting a job in the Rhine-Main region – Hanau itself is home to technology companies such as Heraeus, Umicore and Vacuumschmelze. Others move to be with family or are looking for more space. We take care of the complete organisation: packing, dismantling, transport over around 544 km and furniture assembly in the new flat.

In the same way we handle the return move from Hanau to Berlin, for example for studies, a new job in the capital or to get back to your circle of friends. In Berlin, many move into period buildings with a rear courtyard and side wing – buildings that are part of everyday work for us as a Berlin company. For both directions: fixed price after a survey, parking restriction and assembly included.

The route: via Fulda and the Kinzig Valley motorway

From Stromstraße 21 the route goes via the A100, the AVUS (A115) and the Berlin Ring (A10) to the Potsdam junction and south on the A9 to the Hermsdorf interchange. There the lorry switches to the A4 heading west, past Erfurt and Eisenach to the Kirchheim junction in Hesse. For the next 46 km it drives south on the A7 to the Fulda junction, then 73 km on the A66, the Kinzig Valley motorway: through the Neuhof tunnel, past Schlüchtern, Steinau an der Straße, Gelnhausen and Langenselbold to the Hanau interchange and the Hanau-Nord exit – around 544 km in total.

Moving lorries over 3.5 t may drive at no more than 80 km/h on the motorway (§ 18 (5) StVO). We therefore reckon with approx. 8 hrs of driving time including the 45-minute break that EU Regulation 561/2006 requires after four and a half hours of driving. Driving time stays below nine hours, but with loading and unloading the day gets long: whether two drivers can manage it in one day or we plan two days, we decide during the survey. For a return move to Berlin, everything runs in reverse order.

Arriving in Hanau: neighbourhoods, the Main and the Kinzig

Hanau lies at the mouth of the Kinzig where it meets the Main and has officially carried the suffix “Brüder-Grimm-Stadt” (Brothers Grimm town) since 2006 – Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm were born here. Since 1 January 2026 Hanau has been an independent city; around 98,500 people live in ten districts, including Innenstadt, Kesselstadt, Lamboy, Großauheim, Klein-Auheim, Steinheim and Wolfgang. Whether near the market square with the Brothers Grimm monument or in one of the outer districts: apply for the parking restriction in good time. We come from Berlin, drive right to your door and assemble the furniture.

Those who decide on a return move to Berlin often move to Prenzlauer Berg, Charlottenburg or Friedrichshain. There we plan the carrying route through courtyard and side wing, with a furniture lift where necessary, and take care of unloading and assembly.
