From Moabit to the baroque town: your move to Fulda
Right across Thuringia
A move from Berlin to Fulda takes you right across central Germany: from our base at Stromstraße 21 in Moabit the lorry drives south on the A9 to the Hermsdorfer Kreuz interchange, then west on the A4 through Thuringia past Erfurt and Eisenach into Hesse, and at the Kirchheim interchange onto the A7 south to Fulda. That is around 459 km and, with the removal lorry, approx. 7 hrs driving time including a break. As a guide price we quote from €1,620; the fixed price after a survey is binding. We drive the move from Fulda to Berlin back on the same route.
We look at your household goods in the Berlin flat or by video; we check the Fulda address using your photos – whether a period building near the baroque quarter or a detached house in Lehnerz or Bronnzell. For students of Fulda University of Applied Sciences, families and companies we combine furniture assembly, packing service and, if needed, storage. We are liable under § 451e HGB with €620 per cubic metre of loading space; for heirlooms or art we agree additional protection. We apply for the parking restriction zones in Berlin and Fulda for you.

How we plan the seven hours to Fulda
From Moabit via Thuringia to the baroque town
We come from Berlin (Stromstraße 21, Moabit) and drive right to the door in Fulda, the baroque town between the Rhön and the Vogelsberg. The route is long: around 459 km on three motorways, approx. 7 hrs by lorry including the 45-minute break after four and a half hours of driving time at the latest. On top of that come loading in Berlin and unloading in East Hesse. Whether this fits into one day for your volume or whether we plan with two drivers or over two days, we decide at the survey – together with the fixed price and liability under the HGB. East Hesse and back: what customers ask
Hospital, university, Tegut: reasons for Fulda – and back
According to Wikipedia, Fulda is the regional centre of East Hesse and seat of the district of Fulda – a university, baroque and episcopal town between the Rhön and the Vogelsberg. A move from Berlin to Fulda often has a professional reason: with around 2,500 employees, the Klinikum Fulda hospital is one of the large employers, along with companies such as Fulda Reifen or the food retailer Tegut with its headquarters. Students are drawn by Fulda University of Applied Sciences, families often by the wish for more space. We take care of packing, transport and furniture assembly right into the new flat.
The move from Fulda to Berlin often follows a new job, a university place or the wish to go back to the old neighbourhood. We plan it like the outward trip: survey in Fulda, fixed price, parking restriction at both addresses and one team right to the new door in Berlin.
Two interchanges, three motorways: the route to Fulda
The start is Stromstraße 21: via the city motorway, AVUS and the Berlin ring road the lorry reaches the A9 at the Potsdam interchange. Around 185 km later, beyond Leipzig, it switches to the A4 at the Hermsdorfer Kreuz interchange and rolls about 181 km west through Thuringia – Erfurt and Eisenach are on the way – into Hesse. At the Kirchheim interchange in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district, a central hub of the German motorway network, it turns south onto the A7. After around 34 km Fulda is reached; depending on the destination address we leave at the Fulda-Nord, Fulda-Mitte or Fulda-Süd junction. Altogether that is around 459 km.
At the wheel that is a good six hours, because a removal lorry over 3.5 t may drive at no more than 80 km/h on the motorway (§ 18 (5) StVO). On top of that comes a 45-minute mandatory break after four and a half hours of driving time at the latest (EU Regulation 561/2006) – approx. 7 hrs in total. Because loading in Moabit and unloading in East Hesse make the day longer, we decide at the survey whether one driver is enough, two drivers drive or we schedule two days. The way back to Berlin uses the same motorways.
Between the baroque quarter, Horas and Lehnerz
Fulda lies on the river of the same name. At its heart is the baroque quarter with St. Salvator's Cathedral, where Boniface was buried in 754, and the City Palace (Stadtschloss), which today houses the town administration. The core town includes areas such as Aschenberg, Horas, Ostend, Südend or Ziehers-Nord and Ziehers-Süd; then there are incorporated districts such as Lehnerz, Bronnzell, Sickels or Edelzell. Whether a period building near the cathedral or a house on the edge of town: we check access, floor and parking space in advance and set the date around your key handover.
Anyone moving from Fulda back to Berlin often ends up in neighbourhoods such as Prenzlauer Berg, Kreuzberg or Charlottenburg again, where period buildings with high ceilings, narrow stairwells and no lift are typical. There we apply for the parking restriction zone at the district office's road traffic authority and plan a furniture lift if needed.
Guide prices for East Hesse and back
What a move from Berlin to Fulda costs depends first on the amount that comes along. The table gives starting prices per household – we calculate the binding fixed price after the survey:
| Household | Loading volume | Guide price |
|---|---|---|
| One room | 10–15 m³ | from €350 |
| Two rooms | 20–25 m³ | from €590 |
| Three rooms | 30–40 m³ | from €890 |
| Four rooms | 45–60 m³ | from €1,290 |
| House | from 60 m³ | based on effort |
For the route – around 459 km through Thuringia to East Hesse – we set a guide price from €1,620, and the same for the return trip from Fulda to Berlin. It becomes binding with the quote after the free survey.
What the fixed price for your move to Fulda depends on
The volume has the strongest effect: every cubic metre needs space in the lorry and hands to carry it. Then there is the route of around 459 km with its driver and break plan. At both addresses the floor, lift and carrying distance are added, as well as extras such as furniture assembly or a parking restriction zone. Small loads travel more cheaply as part-load transport.
