Moving from Berlin to Leverkusen: 561 km to the mouth of the Wupper

Removal company Berlin
From the Spree to the mouth of the Wupper: moving to Leverkusen
A2, Kamener Kreuz, A1
For a move from Berlin to Leverkusen the lorry essentially needs two motorways: the A2 to the Kamener Kreuz and then the A1 through the Bergisches Land to the Leverkusen interchange. From our base at Stromstraße 21 in Berlin-Moabit that is around 561 kilometres. We dismantle your furniture in Berlin and reassemble it in Leverkusen, pack fragile items for the long drive and apply for the parking restriction zones at both addresses.
The way back to Berlin follows the same motorways in the opposite direction, first the A1 to Kamen, then the A2 east. Just under seven and a half hours of pure driving plus a mandatory break add up to approx. 8 hrs for the lorry; we give you the fixed price after a free survey. Liability is under the German Commercial Code (HGB) (§ 451e: €620 per cubic metre of cargo space); for valuables, additional protection can be agreed.

From Moabit right to your door in Leverkusen
Moabit – Rhineland, there and back
The start is Stromstraße 21 in Moabit, the destination your front door in Leverkusen – in Wiesdorf near the Chempark, in Opladen on the Wupper or in quieter Schlebusch. How close the lorry can get to your new address, which floor it is and where it can stop we look at during the survey, using your details and photos. After that the fixed price is set in writing; liability is under the German Commercial Code (HGB), and optional additional insurance is possible. We plan the way back to Berlin in exactly the same way.

Move
planning Berlin ↔ Leverkusen
A move over around 561 kilometres needs more planning than one within Berlin: parking restriction zones at two addresses in two federal states, the right vehicle size and a schedule that honestly includes driving time and the break. You can add furniture assembly, piano transport or storage as needed – for the way to Leverkusen as for the way back.

A1, city districts, the way back
Why Leverkusen? Chempark, Rhineland, neighbour Cologne
Leverkusen is known above all for the Bayer group; the Chempark in Wiesdorf shapes the townscape on the Rhine. Many move from Berlin to Leverkusen for a job in the chemical industry or with suppliers, others because of family or because Cologne is right next door. For your move from Berlin to Leverkusen we handle packing, transport and assembly at a fixed price after a survey.
The return move from Leverkusen to Berlin often follows a change of job or a return to family in the capital. We plan it on the same route via the A1 and A2 and take care of the parking restriction and carrying distances in Berlin.
The route: A2 to Kamen, A1 through the Bergisches Land
From Stromstraße 21 we go via the A100, AVUS (A115) and the Berlin ring road (A10) to the Werder interchange and there onto the A2 to the Kamener Kreuz. Then the lorry drives around 86 km south on the A1 – via the Westhofen interchange and the Wuppertal-Nord interchange, past Remscheid and Burscheid to the Leverkusen interchange. The Rhine bridge only comes after the Leverkusen-West interchange; Leverkusen itself lies east of the Rhine. In total it is around 561 kilometres.
Lorries over 3.5 t drive at a maximum of 80 km/h on the motorway (§ 18 (5) StVO), and after four and a half hours of driving time a 45-minute break is mandatory (EU Regulation 561/2006): approx. 8 hrs by lorry. Whether with two drivers in one day or spread over two days we decide at the survey. The return move to Berlin runs back along the same route.
Three city districts on the Rhine, Wupper and Dhünn
Leverkusen in its present form came about in 1975 through the merger with Opladen and Bergisch Neukirchen; Hitdorf was added too. The city has three districts: in the west on the Rhine, among others, Wiesdorf, Rheindorf and Hitdorf; in the middle Opladen and Bergisch Neukirchen; in the east Schlebusch and Steinbüchel. This is where the Wupper flows into the Rhine.
A return move to Berlin often leads to period buildings with a rear courtyard and a narrow stairwell – everyday work for us. We plan a furniture lift and the parking restriction via the responsible district office so that unloading goes swiftly.
Guide prices Berlin–Leverkusen
The city takes its name from the pharmacist Carl Leverkus, who moved his factory to the Rhine in 1861 – our price is based only on your volume and the route. The guide prices apply to Berlin → Leverkusen and the return move to Berlin:
| Household size | Space needed in the lorry | Price from |
|---|---|---|
| one person, 1 room | 10–15 m³ | €350 |
| two rooms | 20–25 m³ | €590 |
| three rooms | 30–40 m³ | €890 |
| four rooms | 45–60 m³ | €1,290 |
| house or period flat with lots of contents | over 60 m³ | after survey |
For the roughly 561 km via the A2 and A1 we quote a guide price from €2,260. The fixed amount is in the quote after the free survey, whether in Opladen, Rheindorf or Steinbüchel.
What makes up the price for Leverkusen
First comes the quantity of your household goods. We calculate the roughly 561 km from €4/km. Whether a period building without a lift in Opladen or a new build in Wiesdorf, whether a parking restriction zone has to be applied for and whether we dismantle and reassemble furniture changes the effort. For just a few items a part load is cheaper.
