Where the Ruhr, Lenne and Volme flow: moving to Hagen
To the gateway to the Sauerland
A move from Berlin to Hagen takes three motorways from the Berlin Ring: from our base at Stromstraße 21 in Moabit the lorry drives on the A2 to the Kamen interchange, switches there to the A1 and, after 22 km, at the Westhofen interchange onto the A45, the Sauerlandlinie – around 505 km altogether. You receive the fixed price after the survey; as a guide price we quote from €2,040. Whether a family, a couple or students of the FernUniversität: we plan the move from Hagen to Berlin with the same care.
Hagen lies in hilly terrain – there are 352 metres of altitude between the Ruhr at Vorhalle and the highest point in the city. At the survey we therefore check access, gradient and parking space at the new address and, if needed, plan a smaller van or a furniture lift. We also take care of parking restriction zones (Halteverbotszonen) at both addresses, furniture assembly and packing. For your household goods we are liable under § 451e HGB; for valuables we agree additional protection.

What the route to Hagen demands
One team from Moabit to the Volme – and back
We set off from Stromstraße 21 in Moabit and unload directly at your Hagen address – in Wehringhausen, Haspe, Eilpe or below Hohenlimburg Castle. Over the 505 km the furniture stays on one vehicle; there is no reloading. Because many Hagen streets are steep, at the survey we look not only at the stairwell and parking space but also at the gradient in front of the building; this gives the fixed price. Liability is under § 451e HGB, on the way there as well as on the way back.

Sauerlandlinie, steep streets, the way back
Why people move to Hagen – and back to Berlin
With a move from Berlin to Hagen you move to a city of around 190,000 inhabitants that is often called the "gateway to the Sauerland": the Ruhr, Lenne, Volme and Ennepe flow through the city, and the southern districts are hilly and wooded. Hagen is home to the FernUniversität, Germany's only state distance-learning university, and since 2012 has carried the addition "Stadt der FernUniversität". Those interested in architecture know the "Hagener Impuls": Karl Ernst Osthaus brought Henry van de Velde, Peter Behrens and Walter Gropius to the city.
The return move from Hagen to Berlin usually has other motives: a new job in the capital, a place at a Berlin university or family and friends. Anyone moving from Hagen-Mitte or Haspe back to Berlin gets the same process from us as on the way there – survey, fixed price and a team right up to the door.
Three motorways, two interchanges: the route to Hagen
After a free survey and a fixed-price quote, we plan your moving date. The route measures around 505 kilometres: via the AVUS and the Berlin Ring to the Werder junction, then on the A2 past Hanover, Bielefeld and Hamm to the Kamen interchange. There we switch to the A1 south, past the Dortmund/Unna interchange and Schwerte, and after 22 km at the Westhofen interchange onto the A45. After a few kilometres on it we are in Hagen. With the mandatory 45-minute break after four and a half hours of driving time, we calculate with approx. 7.5 hrs of driving.
On collection day we load swiftly, protect fragile furniture with blankets and film and then drive along the route described. At the destination – whether in Berlin-Mitte or Hagen-Vorhalle – we unload and assemble the furniture in the rooms you want. Whether that happens on the same day, with two drivers, or the next morning is decided at the survey.
Arriving in Hagen: boroughs and gradients
Hagen is divided into five boroughs: Mitte, Nord, Haspe, Eilpe/Dahl and Hohenlimburg. For the move, the topography above all counts: there are 352 metres of altitude between the Ruhr at Vorhalle (86 m) and the highest point east of Bölling (438 m). Among the steepest streets are Treppenstraße in Altenhagen at 28% and Böhmerstraße in the city centre and Ewaldstraße in Wehringhausen at 27% each. We clarify in advance where the lorry will stop and how long the carrying route will be.
Anyone making the return move to Berlin will find, depending on budget, districts such as Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg or Steglitz – and a tight housing market. We apply for the parking restriction zone at the Berlin destination at the district office, and we set the moving day according to your key handover.
Guide prices Berlin–Hagen

| 4 rooms | around 45–60 m³ | €1,290 |
| House with garden | from 60 m³ | calculated after appointment |

Gradient, floor, quantity: the Hagen price in detail
The basis is the volume of your household goods. We calculate the route of around 505 km from €4/km. On Hagen's slopes there are long or steep carrying routes, sometimes a smaller van or a furniture lift; plus floor, lift, furniture assembly and a parking restriction zone. For individual pieces the part load remains the cheapest solution.
