Moving Berlin – Bonn: 597 km to Beuel or Bad Godesberg

Removal company Berlin
From the capital to the Federal City: moving to Bonn
Finally the airport motorway
Between the capital and the Federal City lie around 597 kilometres from our base at Stromstraße 21 in Berlin-Moabit. For the move from Berlin to Bonn the lorry drives a long way on the A2, then on the A1 to Leverkusen, briefly on Cologne's eastern ring and finally on the A59 past Cologne/Bonn Airport to Bonn. We pack your belongings for the long journey, dismantle the furniture in Berlin and reassemble it on the Rhine, and apply for the parking restriction zones at both addresses. We set the fixed price after the survey.
Anyone switching between the official seats of a federal ministry usually needs a fixed day: we name it after the survey together with the fixed price. On the road, liability under § 451e HGB applies at €620 per cubic metre of loading space; grand pianos, paintings or collections can be covered by optional additional insurance on request. Pure driving time is approx. 8.5 hrs with the mandatory break. The return move from Bonn to Berlin goes via the A59, A3, A1 and A2 – packing, dismantling and final cleaning can be booked as needed.

A Berlin team all the way to the Rhine
From Moabit to the Rhine – and home again
We are a moving company from Berlin-Moabit and drive your move right to your door in Bonn. We are not based in Bonn – so we clarify access, floor, lift and parking at your new address in advance during the survey, using your details and photos, and apply for the parking restriction zones at both addresses. If the flat is on the left bank of the Rhine, we factor the river crossing into the schedule. The fixed price is set after the survey, and we are liable for your belongings under the HGB – whether you move from Berlin to Bonn or back.

Move
planning Berlin ↔ Bonn
Around your move from Berlin to Bonn we take on what costs you time and nerves: packing service, furniture assembly at the destination, parking restriction zones at both addresses and storage in case the new flat is not yet ready to move into. For high floors without a lift we plan a furniture lift; a piano and art are secured separately. A clearance beforehand reduces the volume – and with it the price for the roughly 597 kilometres.

Federal City, Rhine bridges, way back
Between the capital and the Federal City: who moves to Bonn
Bonn is the Federal City: federal ministries and federal authorities still have their seats here, plus around 20 United Nations organisations. Accordingly, a move from Berlin to Bonn often has work-related reasons – a switch between an authority's official seats, a job at an international organisation or in Bonn's business community. Others come to study at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität, founded in 1818, or move to the Rhineland as a family. We organise the complete move to Bonn from packing to the final cleaning of the old flat.
The return move from Bonn to Berlin is just as common: a transfer to the Berlin official seat, a new job in the capital, family or friends. As a Berlin company we know the period buildings with rear courtyards and side wings from everyday work and plan vehicle size, carrying routes and parking restrictions for your new Berlin address – whether outward or return move.
The route: A2, A1, Cologne's eastern ring and the A59 airport motorway
From Stromstraße 21 we take the A100, AVUS (A115) and the Berlin ring road (A10) to the Werder interchange and the A2 as far as the Kamen interchange. The A1 runs around 86 km via Wuppertal to the Leverkusen interchange, followed by 13 km of the A3 to the Köln-Heumar interchange. There the A59, the airport motorway, begins: past Cologne/Bonn Airport, over the Sieg bridge near Troisdorf to the Bonn-Ost interchange near Beuel. The route stays on the right bank of the Rhine; for addresses on the left bank, where most of Bonn lies, one of Bonn's three Rhine bridges is added. In total it is around 597 kilometres.
Lorries over 3.5 t drive at a maximum of 80 km/h on the motorway (§ 18 (5) StVO); after four and a half hours of driving time a 45-minute break is mandatory (EU Regulation 561/2006). This gives approx. 8.5 hrs of lorry time. Whether with two drivers in one day or spread over two days, we decide during the survey. The return move from Bonn to Berlin runs back on the same route.
Four districts on both banks of the Rhine
Bonn has around 324,000 inhabitants and four districts: Bonn with the city centre and neighbourhoods such as Poppelsdorf and Endenich, Bad Godesberg in the south, Hardtberg in the west and Beuel as the only district on the right bank of the Rhine. About three quarters of the city area lie on the left bank. Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn in 1770. We come from Berlin and drive right to your door – we clarify access, floor and parking in advance and apply for the parking restriction in good time. You should start looking for a flat early; the Bonn rent index gives current rent levels.
A return move to Berlin often leads to districts such as Prenzlauer Berg, Kreuzberg or Charlottenburg, where flats are in very high demand. Period buildings with narrow stairwells and rear courtyards are everyday work for us; we plan in a furniture lift and a parking restriction via the responsible district office so that your fresh start in Berlin succeeds.
Guide prices and fixed price for Bonn
What the move to the Federal City costs depends first of all on the size of your household. These guide prices give a first indication – the same for Berlin → Bonn and Bonn → Berlin:
| Household | Load volume | Guide price |
|---|---|---|
| Studio with 1 room | 10–15 m³ | from €350 |
| Flat with 2 rooms | 20–25 m³ | from €590 |
| Flat with 3 rooms | 30–40 m³ | from €890 |
| Flat with 4 rooms | 45–60 m³ | from €1,290 |
| Detached house | from 60 m³ | after assessment |
For the route to Bonn – around 597 km, finally via the A59 airport motorway – we set a guide price from €2,290. The price becomes binding after the free survey.
Left or right of the Rhine: what moves the Bonn price
The volume has the greatest effect, followed by the roughly 597 km. In Bonn the side of the Rhine also matters: Beuel lies directly on the A59, while addresses on the left bank add a bridge crossing. Floor, lift, furniture assembly and parking restriction are factored in; small quantities become cheaper with a part load.
Services for job transfers, families and students
For the route between the Spree and the Rhine we put together what your occasion requires:
- Private move – family household to Hardtberg or Bad Godesberg
- Company move – offices and agencies, happily over the weekend
- Furniture transport – grand piano, display cabinet or heirloom individually
- Part load – a few cubic metres on a Rhineland tour
- Move with assembly – dismantling in Berlin, assembly in Bonn
- House clearance – cellar and loft emptied before moving out
More destinations on the Rhine
Besides Bonn we regularly drive to the rest of the Rhineland, for example to Cologne or upriver to Koblenz. The long-distance moves overview lists all destinations, and our Berlin areas are under Locations.

If a start date for a new post is fixed, we plan backwards from that day.
