Your move to the state capital on Lake Schwerin
To Lake Schwerin
A move from Berlin to Schwerin starts in Moabit with a turn northwards: from Stromstraße 21 the lorry takes the A111 to the Oranienburg interchange, then the ring road to the Havelland junction. After that it stays on the A24 through the Prignitz for a long time – around 137 km to the Schwerin interchange – switches to the A14 and rolls into the state capital via the B321. In total around 203 km, approx. 2.5 h with the removal lorry. Beste Umzug Unternehmen sets the fixed price after the survey, with liability under the German Commercial Code (HGB; § 451e HGB: €620 per cubic metre of cargo space); optional additional insurance is available for valuables. The same applies to the return move from Schwerin to Berlin.
Packing, dismantling and reassembling furniture, loading zones outside both buildings, storage until the key handover – you can add all of this as needed. For a long-distance move Berlin Schwerin it is important that the loading list, lorry and crew suit the building; we see this at the survey in your flat or on a video call. The lorry comes from Berlin and drives right up to the door – in the Schelfstadt, in Lankow or at the Großer Dreesch. Arrange the date on 01625978461.

Why Schwerin fits well into one moving day
Prignitz, A24, B321 – and the same route back
About 203 km, over two thirds of it on the A24: by lorry that is approx. 2.5 h and therefore well under the 4.5 hours of driving time after which the driver must take a break. For a normal household, loading in Berlin, the drive and unloading by the lake therefore fit into one day – the survey shows whether that is the case for you too. Packing, dismantling, driving and reassembly come from one team, whether you are moving to the state capital or from there back to the Spree, and our liability is under the HGB.

Schwerin and Berlin in both directions
State capital, palace, lakes: why Schwerin – and back
A move from Berlin to Schwerin often has a professional reason: as the state capital of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Schwerin is the seat of the state government and the state parliament, which has met in the palace since 1990. Others are drawn by the location on the south-western shore of Lake Schwerin – there are twelve lakes in total within the city – or by the residence ensemble around the palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2024. Families look for more space and shorter distances. For them we plan the date, boxes and furniture assembly so that the first evening by the lake is already spent in a furnished living room.
The return move from Schwerin to Berlin is just as much in demand, usually because of a job, a university place or the capital's larger cultural offering. Here too we look at the household goods in Schwerin, give you the fixed price and send a team all the way to your new Berlin door. Whether a loading zone in Berlin-Mitte or a narrow access road in Schwerin's old town: we know both addresses before moving day.
203 km via the A24 and A14: route and schedule
From Stromstraße 21 in Moabit to Schwerin it is around 203 km. The lorry drives north on the A111, joins the Berlin ring road (A10) at the Oranienburg interchange and the A24 towards Hamburg at the Havelland junction, past the Wittstock/Dosse junction; shortly before Suckow it reaches Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. At the Schwerin interchange it takes the A14 north and enters the city via the B321. Removal lorries over 3.5 t may drive at no more than 80 km/h on the motorway (§ 18 para. 5 StVO) – which gives approx. 2.5 h by lorry, well under the 4.5 hours after which EU Regulation 561/2006 requires a break.
Loading in Berlin takes place early in the morning so that the drive and unloading by the lake fit into the same day. In the city centre between the Pfaffenteich and the palace the streets are narrow and the tram runs right through; there we plan the arrival outside rush hour. The same schedule applies in the opposite direction, and the fixed price stays the same even if traffic is slow on the A24.
From the old town to Mueß: arriving in Schwerin
Schwerin is an independent city and the smallest state capital in Germany. The centre includes the Altstadt (old town), the Schelfstadt, the Paulsstadt and the Feldstadt; further out are Lankow, the Weststadt, Krebsförden, the Großer Dreesch, Neu Zippendorf and Mueßer Holz, and on the lake Zippendorf and Mueß. For period buildings in the city centre we check the stairwell and access in advance; in residential complexes with a lift we plan lift times with the property management. The Weststadt was built from 1955, Lankow between 1962 and 1972 as a prefabricated housing estate – there we ask about the floor and lift beforehand.
Anyone going back to Berlin often ends up in Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg or Charlottenburg; flat-hunting there usually takes longer than by the lake. Parking space outside Berlin buildings is scarce, so we apply for the loading zone at the district office and schedule it for your moving-in day. That way the move from Schwerin back to Berlin runs with the same team and the same procedure.
Guide prices for moving to the state capital
What the move to Lake Schwerin costs depends first on the amount – the direction of travel makes no difference. These figures give a first idea:
| Type of home | Cargo space approx. | Starting price |
|---|---|---|
| Single, one room | 10–15 m³ | from €350 |
| two rooms | 20–25 m³ | from €590 |
| three rooms with a children's room | 30–40 m³ | from €890 |
| four rooms | 45–60 m³ | from €1,290 |
| House by the lake | from 60 m³ | quote after an appointment |
For the roughly 203 km from Moabit to Schwerin the guide price starts from €870, there and back. It becomes binding after a free survey.
Cubic metres, floor, city-centre location: the price factors
The biggest influence is the volume, then the distance: for the roughly 203 km to Schwerin we charge from €4/km. After that come the floor and lift, access in the old town, and furniture assembly and the loading zone. For just a few items a part load saves money.
