Moving from Berlin to Göttingen (Lower Saxony) – and back

At the Werder junction we take the A2 towards Magdeburg, and at the Wolfsburg/Königslutter interchange the A39. It runs past the southern edge of Braunschweig, crosses the Oker and runs along Salzgitter-Lebenstedt to the Salzgitter junction. From there the A7 takes the lorry via Seesen and Northeim – where the flood bridge crosses the Leine and Rhume – to the Göttingen-Nord and Göttingen exits. Hanover is not touched at all. By lorry the drive takes approx. 4.5 hrs; that is just below the limit of four and a half hours of driving time after which a 45-minute break is mandatory (EU Regulation 561/2006). If there is a jam, the break is planned in.
