Moving from Berlin to Wolfsburg (Lower Saxony) – and back

Removal company Berlin
From the Berliner Ring to the Berliner Ring: your move to Wolfsburg
One drive, 226 km
A move from Berlin to Wolfsburg starts with us at Stromstraße 21 in Moabit: via the A100 and AVUS (A115) onto the Berlin Ring, at the Werder interchange onto the A2 and past Magdeburg and Helmstedt to the Wolfsburg/Königslutter interchange. There the lorry switches to the A39 heading north, and after 9 km it turns into the city. Altogether that is around 226 km, approx. 3 hrs of driving time in the removal lorry. In Wolfsburg the districts are reached via a multi-lane ring road around the city centre – fittingly for our route, it is also called the Berliner Ring. We drive the move from Wolfsburg to Berlin on the same route in the opposite direction.
We give you the fixed price after the survey, on site or by video – a traffic jam at the Magdeburg interchange changes nothing about the amount after that. We are liable under the German Commercial Code (§ 451e HGB: €620 per cubic metre of cargo space); if you are taking valuables, you can arrange additional cover. We apply for parking restriction zones at both addresses, dismantle furniture and reassemble it in Wolfsburg, and if the new flat is not yet free, we provide storage. Why the Wolfsburg route works well in one day
One team from the Spree to the Aller
We come from Berlin (Stromstraße 21) and drive right to the door in Wolfsburg – whether to the city centre, to Detmerode, Westhagen or the historic village centres of Fallersleben and Vorsfelde. With approx. 3 hrs of lorry driving time, the route stays well under the 4.5 hours of driving time after which a break would be mandatory; loading in Berlin, the drive and unloading fit into one day for an average flat. Many flats in Wolfsburg date from 1949 to 1978 – we therefore look at the stairwell, lift and access beforehand. You get the fixed price after the survey.

FAQ on long-distance moves in both directions
Why people move to Wolfsburg – and back to Berlin
Wolfsburg was founded in 1938 as the site of the Volkswagen plant, and to this day Volkswagen AG, with over 50,000 employees in administration and the plant, is by far the city's largest employer. A move from Berlin to Wolfsburg therefore often has to do with a job at VW, a supplier or the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences, which has a faculty of vehicle technology here. Families look for more space in districts such as Fallersleben or Vorsfelde with their historic centres, or in the post-war districts. We plan packing, vehicle and assembly to suit this new living situation.
The move from Wolfsburg to Berlin often follows a change of job, a course of study or the wish for big-city life. The same procedure applies to the return: a survey in Wolfsburg, a fixed price, one team to the new door in Berlin. Anyone moving into an inner-city Berlin neighbourhood almost always needs a parking restriction zone – we apply for it with the district office.
226 km via the A2 and A39: route and procedure
From Stromstraße 21 it is around 226 kilometres to Wolfsburg. The lorry drives via the A100 and A115 to the Berlin Ring (A10), onto the A2 at the Werder interchange and follows it past the Magdeburg interchange to the Wolfsburg/Königslutter interchange. There the A39 branches off to the north; after 9 km we leave it towards the city. Removal lorries over 3.5 t may drive at no more than 80 km/h on the motorway (§ 18 (5) StVO), so we plan approx. 3 hrs of lorry driving time. That is well below the 4.5 hours after which EU Regulation 561/2006 requires a 45-minute break.
On site we unload right at the front door – with a parking restriction zone applied for in advance if the street is narrow – and on request reassemble furniture and lamps. The move from Wolfsburg to Berlin runs exactly the same way, just in the opposite direction via the A39 and A2.
Arriving in Wolfsburg: districts, buildings, routes
Wolfsburg is divided into 16 localities with 41 districts. Besides the city centre around Porschestraße there are the old village centres of Fallersleben (with its palace) and Vorsfelde, as well as the post-war districts of Detmerode and Westhagen. 61.4 per cent of Wolfsburg's flats were built between 1949 and 1978 – for us that means: often blocks of flats with a stairwell, not every one with a lift. We clarify that at the survey so that enough carriers are planned. People who work at VW often choose their district by the route to the plant north of the Mittelland Canal.
On the move back to Berlin it is usually to districts with scarce parking space, such as Friedrichshain, Neukölln or Prenzlauer Berg. There the parking restriction zone is almost always part of it; we submit the application in good time to the road traffic authority of the district office.
