Neubrandenburg is the county town of the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district, has around 60,000 inhabitants and lies on the northern shore of the Tollensesee. From Moabit the route goes through the city to Pankow and via the A114 onto the Berlin ring road (A10). At the Barnim interchange the A11 begins, leading north-east past Bernau and the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve to the Uckermark interchange; there we switch to the A20 and drive past Friedland to the Neubrandenburg-Ost or -Nord junction. In total it is around 186 kilometres and approx. 2.5 hrs of lorry driving time – less than the four and a half hours after which a driver must take a break.
On moving day we load in Berlin in the morning, drive along the motorway – lorries over 3.5 t at no more than 80 km/h (§ 18 (5) StVO) – and unload in Neubrandenburg, so that you are in the new flat the same day. For the return move the same route applies in the opposite direction.

Since 2019 Neubrandenburg has officially carried the additional name Vier-Tore-Stadt (Town of Four Gates) – after the Friedländer, Treptower, Stargarder and Neues Tor in the town wall. The city is divided into ten urban areas, including the city centre, the Datzeviertel with the Datzeberg, the Oststadt, the Südstadt on the B 96, the Vogelviertel and the Lindenbergviertel.
