Worms: 609 km finally across the Nibelungen Bridge

Removal company Berlin
From the Spree to the Nibelungen city: moving to Worms
To the left bank of the Rhine
A move from Berlin to Worms leads right across Germany: from our base at Stromstraße 21 in Moabit it is around 609 kilometres to the city on the left bank of the Rhine. At Beste Umzug Unternehmen, after a free survey – in your flat or by video – we set a fixed price that covers packing, transport and furniture assembly in Worms. We clarify volume, floors and carrying distances at both addresses beforehand, so that vehicle and team fit on moving day. Whether a period building in Berlin or a detached house in a Worms suburb: we plan according to what we see.
The return move from Worms to Berlin also follows the same plan. The route runs via the A9 and A4 through Thuringia, on the A5 past Frankfurt to the Darmstadt interchange and on the A67 to Lorsch; from there the B 47 takes the lorry across the Nibelungen Bridge into Worms. In the removal lorry that is approx. 9 hrs of driving time including a break. We are liable for damage under the HGB (§ 451e: €620 per cubic metre of cargo space), and we arrange additional cover on request. That way it is clear what the move over 609 kilometres costs and who your contact person is.

Keeping an eye on driving time: our plan for Worms
From Moabit via the A5 and A67 to the left bank of the Rhine
We come from Berlin (Stromstraße 21, Moabit) and drive right to the door in Worms – whether from a period flat in Prenzlauer Berg or to a house in Pfeddersheim. The pure driving time over the roughly 609 kilometres is a good eight hours; after four and a half hours at the latest a 45-minute break is mandatory. With loading and unloading the day becomes too long for a single driver, so at the survey we decide whether two drivers drive in one day or we plan two days. On top of that come a fixed price and liability under the HGB – in both directions.

Our commitments all the way to the left bank of the Rhine
A fair fixed price is set after the survey: from the moving volume, floors, additional services and the roughly 609 kilometres between Berlin and Worms. As a guide price we quote from €2,280; the written quote is binding.

Part load across the Rhine
Not every household fills a lorry. For a few pieces of furniture or boxes there is the part load: your things travel along on a tour that is heading via the A5 towards southern Hesse and the Rhine anyway – or from Worms to Berlin. You pay for the space you take up; liability under the HGB applies as with every move.

The Nibelungen city and back: answers
University, family, the Rhine: reasons for Worms
A move from Berlin to Worms usually has to do with work, family or studies – for example at Worms University of Applied Sciences. The city lies on the left bank of the Rhine in the south-east of Rhineland-Palatinate, between Mainz to the north and Ludwigshafen to the south, and has just under 87,000 inhabitants. It is known as the Nibelungen city, for the Romanesque Cathedral of St Peter and for the Diet of 1521, at which Martin Luther defended his writings. We take care of the organisation from packing in the Berlin flat to furniture assembly in Worms.
The return move from Worms to Berlin often has other reasons: a job in the capital, family, friends or simply the big city. As a Berlin company we know period buildings with rear courtyards and side wings from our everyday work. We plan this way just as carefully as the outbound trip – with a parking restriction in Berlin, packing, transport and assembly.
Darmstadt interchange, Lorsch, Nibelungen Bridge
The drive starts in Moabit and leads via the city motorway, AVUS and Berlin Ring onto the A9 heading south. At the Hermsdorf interchange the lorry turns onto the A4, crosses Thuringia and reaches Hesse beyond Eisenach. Shortly after the Kirchheim interchange, the A5 begins at the Hattenbach interchange, and the lorry follows it for around 149 km – past Gießen and Frankfurt to the Darmstadt interchange. There it switches to the A67 and leaves it after 23 km at the Lorsch junction. The B 47 takes it across the Nibelungen Bridge to the left bank of the Rhine and thus into Rhineland-Palatinate – altogether around 609 km.
At the wheel that is a good eight hours: lorries over 3.5 t may only drive at 80 km/h on motorways (§ 18 (5) StVO), and after four and a half hours a 45-minute break is mandatory (EU Regulation 561/2006). With it we calculate approx. 9 hrs. Loading and unloading make the day too long for one driver; at the survey we decide whether two drivers drive or we plan two days. We drive the return move from Worms to Berlin in the same way.
Arriving in Worms: 19 districts on the left bank of the Rhine
Worms is divided into 19 districts – from the city centre and the inner-city areas around the cathedral via Hochheim, Neuhausen and Pfiffligheim to Herrnsheim, Horchheim, Pfeddersheim, Rheindürkheim or Ibersheim on the edge of the city. Since 2021 the ShUM sites of Worms, Speyer and Mainz have been part of the UNESCO World Heritage, and every summer the Nibelungen Festival is staged in front of the cathedral. We come from Berlin and drive right up to your door; we clarify access, floor and stopping place at the survey and apply for the parking restriction with the responsible road traffic authority.
For the return move to Berlin we take care of the parking restriction with the district office and plan the approach to your new neighbourhood. We coordinate the date with your tenancy agreement in Berlin and moving out in Worms, so that you avoid paying double rent as far as possible. After moving in you have two weeks in both cities to register with the registration authority.
Costs to the Rhine: first guide prices
The costs of the move from Berlin to Worms – and of the way from Worms to Berlin – depend above all on how much comes along. For orientation:
| Flat type | Household goods | Costs |
|---|---|---|
| One-room flat | 10–15 m³ | from €350 |
| Two-room flat | 20–25 m³ | from €590 |
| Three-room flat | 30–40 m³ | from €890 |
| Four-room flat | 45–60 m³ | from €1,290 |
| Detached house / villa | from 60 m³ | price on request |
For the roughly 609 km via the A5 and A67 we quote a guide price from €2,280, the same for the outbound and return trip, plus volume and extras. It becomes binding with the quote after the free survey.
What makes up the price of the move to Worms
The largest share is the volume. For the Berlin–Worms long-distance move the distance of around 609 km is added, for which we factor in a second driver or a second day. Floor, lift and walking distances at both addresses play a part, as do extras such as furniture assembly or a parking restriction. For a small quantity of household goods there is the part load.
