Pforzheim on the Enz Nagold and Würm: 659 km, finally via the A8

Removal company Berlin
Moabit – Golden City: 659 km to the Enz valley
Three rivers, one valley
Pforzheim lies where the Nagold and the Würm flow into the Enz – cut in between the Black Forest heights and the Kraichgau. Anyone moving here from Berlin swaps the flat city on the Spree for a valley on whose slopes neighbourhoods such as Buckenberg-Haidach or Büchenbronn lie. For us that means: gradients, hillside streets and steps at the entrance belong in the planning before the first box is filled. During the free survey in Berlin or by video we record volume and furniture and ask you to send photos of the Pforzheim address.
The route itself starts at our base at Stromstraße 21: 659 kilometres, with the longest stretches on the A9 and A6. At the Leonberg junction the lorry turns onto the A8, which skirts Pforzheim to the north. We drive the return move from the Golden City to Berlin in exactly the reverse order.
You receive a quote with a fixed price as soon as we have seen your household goods. It states the vehicle size, number of carriers, packing material and – if necessary – two drivers for the stretch of around 659 km. The guide price for the route alone starts from €2,500; what comes on top depends on cubic metres and floors, not on jams between Weinsberg and Leonberg.
For the parking restriction in Pforzheim we submit the application to the city's road traffic authority; the signs there must be in place at least 72 hours before the date. In Berlin the district office takes care of it. You can reach us by phone on 01625978461.

Golden City quote
Route from €2,500 – final price after the survey
For the 659 kilometres between the Spree and the Enz we set a lower limit from €2,500 – the figure applies identically to the way back. Whether boxes, kitchen assembly or a carrying route on the slope in Pforzheim are added, you will see in the written quote after the appointment at your home. A call on 01625978461 is all it takes, also for a move from Pforzheim back to Berlin.
Quotes are available individually depending on effort, availability of dates and the scope of services required.

Long-Distance Move

From Moabit to the city of jewellery makers
Planning for valley, slope and motorway
Our business is based in Berlin-Moabit; we drive to Pforzheim as a long-distance move, not as a neighbour. That is why we ask you to describe the destination address precisely: is it in the city centre on the Enz, in Brötzingen in the west or up in Huchenfeld? How steep is the access, is there an outside staircase? These answers determine the carriers, vehicle length and parking restriction. We give the fixed price in writing, and liability is under the German Commercial Code (HGB) – on the way there as on the return to Berlin.

Process
Berlin – Golden City
Over 659 kilometres the question arises whether one driver is enough: pure driving time is just under nine hours, and with loading it gets tight. We therefore plan two drivers or a second day and load so that what you need on the first evening comes out first in Pforzheim. You have two weeks after moving in to register; Pforzheim also offers online registration for this. We organise the way back to Berlin in the same way.

Why Berliners move to the Golden City – and back
Jewellery and watches have been made in Pforzheim since the late 18th century, hence the nickname “Golden City” (Goldstadt). Today the city, with around 134,000 inhabitants, is the regional centre of the Northern Black Forest region and the seat of the Enzkreis district, without itself belonging to it. Many of our customers come for a job in the region between Karlsruhe and Stuttgart, others for a study place at Pforzheim University, whose design programmes go back to the history of jewellery making. For them we organise the move from Berlin to Pforzheim from the first box to the assembled bed.
Conversely, after a few years on the Enz some are drawn back to the Spree: because of a job offer, family or everyday life in Berlin. We drive this return move to Berlin with the same liability under the German Commercial Code (HGB) and a fixed price that we set down in writing after the survey.
The route: Weinsberg, Leonberg, then the A8 west
From Moabit we drive via the A100 and the AVUS onto the Berlin Ring and then on the A9 past Leipzig, Hof and Bayreuth to the Nuremberg-East interchange. There the A6 begins: around 151 km via Ansbach, Crailsheim and Schwäbisch Hall to the Weinsberg interchange. Then the lorry takes the A81 south for around 49 km, past Ludwigsburg and Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, to the Leonberg junction. Here it changes onto the A8 west towards Karlsruhe – after a good 20 km via Rutesheim and Heimsheim, Pforzheim is reached.
A removal lorry over 3.5 t may drive at a maximum of 80 km/h on the motorway (§ 18 (5) StVO), and after four and a half hours of driving time at the latest a 45-minute break is required (EU Regulation 561/2006). That makes approx. 9.5 hours. Anyone loading in Berlin on the same day cannot manage that with one driver – we use two or split it over two days.
Arriving in the valley: city centre, hillside neighbourhoods, parking space
Pforzheim's city centre lies in the valley of the Enz and was largely rebuilt after its destruction in 1945. All around, the neighbourhoods climb uphill: Buckenberg-Haidach in the south, Büchenbronn, Huchenfeld and Hohenwart on the heights, Brötzingen and Dillweißenstein in the west along the Enz and Nagold, Eutingen in the east. Depending on the address our work changes considerably – a new build with a lift up on the slope or a period building with a narrow staircase in the valley. Photos of the entrance and the street help us to decide on the vehicle and team size.
We apply for the parking restriction at the road traffic authority of the City of Pforzheim; the signs must be put up at least three days before the move. Registration is subject to the two-week deadline, either at the Bürgercentrum citizens' office by appointment or online. On the return to Berlin we arrange the parking restriction via the district office.
What the Berlin – Pforzheim route costs
Before you receive a fixed amount, we look at your household. The following overview shows roughly where flat sizes start – it applies to the move to Pforzheim just as to the move from Pforzheim to Berlin:
| Flat size | Volume | Price from |
|---|---|---|
| 1-room flat | 10–15 m³ | from €350 |
| 2-room flat | 20–25 m³ | from €590 |
| 3-room flat | 30–40 m³ | from €890 |
| 4-room flat | 45–60 m³ | from €1,290 |
| House / villa | from 60 m³ | individual quote |
On top of that comes the route: for around 659 km to the Enz the guide price is from €2,500, with no difference between the outward and return journey. We include steep access or long carrying routes at the destination in the quote. The price becomes binding after a free survey.
Cubic metres, kilometres, hillside location: the price factors
The strongest factor is the volume of your household goods. Next comes the distance – 659 km, charged via a price per kilometre. In Pforzheim the carrying route often plays a part: steps on the slope, no lift, a narrow driveway. On top of that come wishes such as furniture assembly or a parking restriction. For a few items a part load is the more affordable choice.
