Baroque town of Ludwigsburg: 615 km exit before the Stuttgart basin

Removal company Berlin
To the Residential Palace: Berlin – Ludwigsburg via the A81
Just before Stuttgart
A move from Berlin to Ludwigsburg ends before the motorway leads down into the Stuttgart valley basin: after around 615 kilometres from our base at Stromstraße 21 in Moabit, the lorry leaves the A81 at the Ludwigsburg-Nord junction. At a free survey – in your flat or by video – we record volume, floors and carrying distances and then give you a fixed price. Packing, transport and furniture assembly are handled by the same team.
We accompany you from the survey to the last box and clarify parking restrictions, floors and heavy single items beforehand.
The drive takes around 9 hours with a break, plus loading and unloading. Whether two drivers do it in one day or we spread the route over two days we decide after the survey. In Ludwigsburg there is a fixed rule for parking restrictions: the application must reach the road traffic authority at least 14 days beforehand, and the signs go up four working days before the date – so we take care of it early. We are liable for damage under the German Commercial Code (HGB), with optional additional insurance on request.

Deadlines, route and the way back
From Berlin to the residence town – and back again
Ludwigsburg is a young town with a large palace: Duke Eberhard Ludwig had a hunting lodge built from 1704 and from 1709 planned the town around it; it received its town charter on 3 September 1718. Today, with around 93,000 inhabitants, Ludwigsburg is the largest town and the county town of the district of the same name. Anyone moving here from Berlin often comes for a job, for example at the filter manufacturer Mann+Hummel, founded in Ludwigsburg in 1941, or to study at the University of Education (Pädagogische Hochschule) or the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.
Conversely, many plan a return move from Ludwigsburg to Berlin – for a new job, to study or to be with family and friends again. As a Berlin company we know the period buildings with rear courtyards and side wings that many move back into. We plan both directions with a survey, a fixed price and a parking restriction at the respective address.
615 km: via Weinsberg to the Ludwigsburg exit
From Moabit we go via the A100, AVUS and the Berlin ring road onto the A9, past Leipzig, Hof and Bayreuth to the Nuremberg-Ost interchange. The A6 takes over for around 151 km via Ansbach and Crailsheim to the Weinsberg interchange. There the lorry turns onto the A81 towards Stuttgart and leaves it after a good 30 km: at Ludwigsburg-Nord for addresses in the town centre, Eglosheim or Oßweil, at Ludwigsburg-Süd for Pflugfelden and the south. We do not have to go down into the Stuttgart basin. To the door it is around 615 km.
Lorries over 3.5 t are limited to 80 km/h on the motorway (§ 18 (5) StVO); after four and a half hours of driving time at the latest, a 45-minute break follows (EU Regulation 561/2006). That gives approx. 9 hrs of driving, with pure driving time at a good eight hours. With loading and unloading the day becomes too long for one driver; we drive with two or over two days. The same applies in reverse.
Arriving in Ludwigsburg: core town, the Neckar and seven districts
Ludwigsburg consists of the core town with Mitte, West, Nord, Ost and Süd as well as the districts of Pflugfelden, Eglosheim, Hoheneck, Oßweil, Grünbühl-Sonnenberg, Neckarweihingen and Poppenweiler; Hoheneck, Neckarweihingen and Poppenweiler lie on the Neckar. On the market square the Protestant town church and the Catholic Holy Trinity Church face each other, and not far away is the Residential Palace, considered the largest undestroyed baroque palace in Germany. We come from Berlin and drive right to your door; we clarify parking and access at the survey.
For the return move to Berlin we apply for the parking restriction via the district office and plan the approach to your new neighbourhood, whether Prenzlauer Berg, Neukölln or Charlottenburg. After moving in, you have two weeks in both cities to register with the registration authority.

What the price to Ludwigsburg depends on
The volume counts most. Then there is the distance of around 615 km, calculated via a price per kilometre. At the destination address, floor, lift and carrying distance play a part. Extras such as furniture assembly or the parking restriction with 14 days' lead time are listed individually in the quote. For small loads a part load saves money.
