Neumünster on the Stör and Schwale: moving Berlin – Neumünster and back

Removal company Berlin
Via Bad Segeberg to the heart of Holstein: moving to Neumünster
In the heart of Holstein
A move from Berlin to Neumünster does not go through Hamburg but passes east of it. From Stromstraße 21 in Moabit the lorry takes the A111 and the Berlin ring road to the Havelland interchange and then 215 km on the A24 to the Schwarzenbek/Grande interchange. There it switches to the B 404 to the Bargteheide interchange, takes the A21 past Bad Oldesloe and Bad Segeberg to Wahlstedt and covers the last kilometres on the B 205 via Rickling to Neumünster. In total it is around 325 km, approx. 4.5 hrs of driving time with the removal lorry. Our team from Beste Umzug Unternehmen takes care of the organisation and the work, so that you can concentrate on your new life in Schleswig-Holstein or back in the capital.
With our fixed-price model you know in advance what the move costs; it is calculated by flat size, floor and extra services. Whether you are changing jobs to Neumünster or moving back to Berlin: we plan loading and unloading times realistically, apply for parking restriction zones in both cities and accompany you from the first box to the last piece of furniture.
Our moving teams secure your furniture for the roughly four and a half hours of driving with blankets and tension straps against scratches and shifting. On request we take care of packing and unpacking, furniture assembly and dismantling kitchens and wardrobes. We are liable for damage under the German Commercial Code (HGB) (§ 451e HGB: €620 per cubic metre of cargo space); for valuables we arrange optional additional insurance. We come from Berlin and drive right to your door in Neumünster – that makes your move to Neumünster or back to Berlin predictable, and all that is left for you is mainly the change of address.

Neumünster at a fixed price

Move
planning Berlin ↔ Neumünster
A move between Berlin and Neumünster means two flat handovers in two federal states, re-registering with a new registration authority and furniture transport via the A24, A21 and two federal roads. We advise you on move planning, on the two-week deadline for re-registering and on extra services such as parking restriction zones or a furniture lift. If the new flat in Neumünster is not yet free, we provide interim storage. We also think of the authorities: we remind you about re-registering your car, changes of address and the landlord confirmation (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung) from your landlord, which you need for registration. That way you are prepared for every step – whether you are moving from the capital to the heart of Holstein or the other way round.

What gets clarified before the trip to the Stör and Schwale
Why people move to Neumünster – and back to Berlin
With around 80,000 inhabitants Neumünster is the fifth-largest city in Schleswig-Holstein, an independent city since 1901 and part of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region since 2012. Its location in the middle of the state has a history: as early as 1844 the railway ran here from Kiel via Neumünster to Altona, a year later the line to Rendsburg was added, and the city became Holstein's railway hub. Anyone moving here from Berlin often follows a new job, is looking for more space for the family or wants to live closer to relatives in the north. We bring your household goods safely to neighbourhoods such as Faldera, Wittorf or the Stadtmitte.
The return move from Neumünster to Berlin often follows a job offer, the wish for big-city life or family reasons. We organise it with the same care as the outbound trip – with a parking restriction zone from the Berlin district office and a date that suits your new Berlin flat.
A24, B 404, A21, B 205: the route to Neumünster
From Stromstraße 21 to Neumünster it is around 325 kilometres. Via the A111 (19 km) and the Berlin ring road the lorry reaches the Havelland interchange and stays on the A24 for 215 km – as far as the Schwarzenbek/Grande interchange. From there the B 404 leads to the Bargteheide interchange, where the A21 begins; after 31 km, past Bad Oldesloe and Bad Segeberg, the B 205 branches off at Wahlstedt and takes us via Rickling to Neumünster.
Removal lorries over 3.5 t may drive at no more than 80 km/h on the motorway (§ 18 (5) StVO); that results in approx. 4.5 hrs of lorry driving time. The pure driving time is therefore just under the four and a half hours after which EU Regulation 561/2006 requires a 45-minute break – if there is congestion, the driver takes it on the way. After arrival we unload and assemble the furniture on request; on the return move everything runs in the opposite direction.
Nine neighbourhoods between the Einfelder See and Gadeland
Neumünster has nine neighbourhoods: Böcklersiedlung-Bugenhagen, Brachenfeld-Ruthenberg, Einfeld, Faldera, Gadeland, Gartenstadt, Stadtmitte, Tungendorf and Wittorf. The Stör flows through Gadeland, and the Schwale joins it in Wittorf. The city was a centre of the cloth and leather industry – there was a cloth factory as early as 1760, and cloth was produced until 1992 – and the Holstenhallen stand in the Gartenstadt, today an important trade fair venue for the state. For your move we check access and parking space at the new address.
Anyone planning the return move to Berlin should start looking for a flat early; in neighbourhoods such as Prenzlauer Berg or Kreuzberg parking space is scarce. Our team supports you with the planning, so that the switch between Neumünster and the capital runs as smoothly as possible.
Guide prices for the trip to the heart of Holstein
Whether a move from Berlin to Neumünster or from Neumünster to Berlin: the first reference point is the size of the flat you are moving out of. These guide prices apply before the survey:
| Flat size | Volume | Price from |
|---|---|---|
| 1-room flat | 10–15 m³ | from €350 |
| 2-room flat | 20–25 m³ | from €590 |
| 3-room flat | 30–40 m³ | from €890 |
| 4-room flat | 45–60 m³ | from €1,290 |
| House / villa | from 60 m³ | individual quote |
For the route of around 325 km past Hamburg the guide price starts from €1,370 – the same there and back. We state the fixed amount in writing in the quote after a free survey.
Volume, kilometres, access: the price components for Neumünster
What counts most is the volume. For the roughly 325 km the distance is added (from €4/km), then floors, a lift or the lack of one, and extras such as furniture assembly or a parking restriction zone. For small quantities a part load is cheaper than a lorry of your own.
What we take care of between the Spree and the Stör
For the trip to Neumünster and back you put together:
- Furniture transport – from a single item to a wall unit
- Private move – flat or house with everything that goes with it
- Part load – small quantities on a tour towards Holstein
- Company move – workstations numbered, downtime kept short
- Clearance – cellar and attic emptied beforehand
- Move with assembly – dismantling in Berlin, reassembly in Neumünster
