From Stromstraße 21 in Moabit the lorry travels via the A111 and the Berlin ring road to the Havelland interchange and then 199 km on the A24 through Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania into Schleswig-Holstein. At the Hornbek junction it leaves the motorway and drives via Breitenfelde onto the B 207: via Mölln, along Lake Ratzeburg through the Lauenburg Lakes Nature Park and into Lübeck from the south. In total it is around 274 km, approx. 3.5 hrs of driving time with the removal lorry.

Reasons for Lübeck – and for the way back to Berlin
A move from Berlin to Lübeck is often about a new job, studying or the wish to live close to the Baltic Sea. The independent Hanseatic city has around 217,000 inhabitants; its old town sits on a hill between the Trave and the Wakenitz, and the seaside resort of Travemünde is part of the city. St. Jürgen is home to the University of Lübeck with the university hospital and the Technische Hochschule – for many the reason to move to the Trave. The move from Lübeck to Berlin often follows graduation, a job in the capital or the wish for big-city life. A24 to Hornbek, then the B 207: the route to Lübeck
From Stromstraße 21 to Lübeck it is around 274 kilometres. The lorry drives via the A111 (19 km) to the Oranienburg interchange, on the Berlin ring road (A10) to the Havelland interchange and then 199 km on the A24, via the Wittstock/Dosse interchange and the Schwerin interchange. At the Hornbek junction it leaves the motorway, drives to Breitenfelde and takes the B 207 there. It leads over the Elbe-Lübeck Canal and via Mölln, along Lake Ratzeburg to Lübeck – between Breitenfelde and Lübeck on the route of the Old Salt Road. Removal lorries over 3.5 t drive at a maximum of 80 km/h on the motorway (§ 18 (5) StVO); this gives approx. 3.5 hrs of driving time, under the limit of four and a half hours of driving.
Moving day is clearly structured: loading in Berlin or Lübeck, the drive, unloading and furniture assembly at the destination. We apply for parking restriction zones at both addresses beforehand so that the lorry stands right outside the door.
Arriving in Lübeck – or back in Berlin
Parts of Lübeck's old town have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, and the Holstentor is the city's landmark. North of the old town lies St. Gertrud with villas around the city park, to the south St. Jürgen, the largest district by area with both universities; at the mouth of the Trave lies Travemünde, a seaside resort since 1802 and, with the Skandinavienkai, home to Germany's largest Baltic ferry port. In the alleys and courtyards of the old town, paths are often narrow – there we plan shorter vehicles or longer carrying distances.
On the move back to Berlin a housing market awaits where you should start searching early, and in neighbourhoods such as Prenzlauer Berg or Friedrichshain parking is scarce. We apply for the parking restriction zone at the district office; if the moving-in date is not yet fixed, we put your household goods into interim storage while you move into the new flat at your own pace.
