Moving Berlin–Kufstein: 676 km to just past Kiefersfelden

Moving company Berlin
Right at your destination after Kiefersfelden: moving Berlin ↔ Kufstein
Exit Kufstein-Nord/Zentrum
On this route, Kufstein is the first town after the border: where the Bavarian A93 ends at Kiefersfelden, the Inntal Autobahn begins, and the very first junction, Kufstein-Nord/Zentrum, brings the lorry into town. Before that come the long A9 from Berlin to Munich, the A99 ring and the A8 to the Inntal junction. We start in Moabit (Stromstraße 21); we have no office in Tyrol, and the team comes with the lorry. Which lorry size, how many packers and which assembly work are needed, we see at the survey – and from that we calculate the fixed price.
Pure driving time and breaks add up to around 10.5 hrs – just over the nine hours that EU Regulation 561/2006 allows a single driver per day. This makes Kufstein the closest Tyrolean destination from Berlin, but still not a one-day job for one driver: either two drivers take turns at the wheel, or the lorry parks overnight on the Bavarian side and crosses the border in the morning. If something breaks, liability under the HGB applies (§ 451e, €620 per cubic metre); we can arrange more protection for valuables. For the opposite direction, the move from Kufstein to Berlin, we plan identically.

One price all the way to the Inn
What is itemised in the Kufstein quote
What the drive via the A9, A99, A8 and A93 costs is fixed before the move: after a survey in Berlin or by video (01625978461) you receive the fixed price for Kufstein, with toll, driver option and parking restrictions as separate lines. The way back is calculated in exactly the same way.
Quotes are available individually depending on effort, availability of dates and the scope of services required.

One team from the Spree to the Inn
Loading in Moabit, unloading in Tyrol
676 kilometres, almost all of them on German tarmac: for the lorry, Austria only begins a few hundred metres before the exit to Kufstein. Within the EU there is nothing to declare at the border for household goods. What we do have to plan for are driving times, breaks, the toll and, on certain days, the metering of lorry traffic at Kufstein/Kiefersfelden. The same team that loaded in Berlin (Stromstraße 21) drives right to your door. You get the price in writing after the survey, liability is governed by the HGB, and higher cover is possible. We apply for both parking restrictions, also for the way back from Kufstein to Berlin.

Checklist
Berlin ↔ Kufstein
Before the lorry leaves for Kufstein, we go through everything with you: parking restriction outside the Berlin flat (district office) and at the new address in Tyrol, dismantling of kitchen and wardrobes, heavy single items such as a piano or safe, possible storage, the question of two drivers or an overnight stop, and your visits to the authorities. In Austria the rule is: anyone moving into a flat registers it within three days with the registration form (Meldezettel). Anyone moving the other way, from Kufstein to Berlin, deregisters in Tyrol and has two weeks in Berlin to register at the citizens' office (Bürgeramt).

Border, driving time, authorities, way back
Kufstein: Tyrolean border town on both banks of the Inn
With a good 20,000 inhabitants, Kufstein is the second-largest town in Tyrol after Innsbruck and the seat of the district of the same name. The town lies at around 500 m altitude on both banks of the Inn; to the north it borders directly on Kiefersfelden in Bavaria, to the east the Kaiser mountains begin, and its local mountain is the Pendling. Anyone moving from Berlin to Kufstein changes country but not single market: furniture and household goods need no declaration at the border. For our planning, other things count – can the lorry reach your building, how steep is the access, is there a lift.
In the opposite direction, on a move from Kufstein to Berlin, we load in Tyrol and drive back to the Spree via the A93, A8 and A9. Volume, floors, assembly and the 676 kilometres are decisive for the price; whether you are moving there or back makes no difference. We apply for parking restrictions at both ends.
Schedule: A9 to Munich, then via the Inntal junction to the border
Loading in Berlin usually starts early in the day. Via the AVUS and Berlin ring road we reach the A9, the longest stage: through Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony and Thuringia to the outskirts of Munich. The A99 motorway ring (27 km) leads east around Munich onto the A8 towards Salzburg; after 44 km, the A93 branches off at the Inntal junction and ends after 25 km at the border near Kiefersfelden. Right after it comes the Kufstein-Nord/Zentrum junction. Total: around 676 km and approx. 10.5 hrs including breaks.
Lorries over 3.5 t are allowed 80 km/h on German motorways (§ 18 (5) StVO), and after 4.5 hours at the wheel a 45-minute break follows. Because the daily driving time is slightly exceeded, we plan two drivers or one night before the border. On metering days (Dosiertage), ASFINAG and the police let only a limited number of lorries per hour cross the border southbound; we check these dates in advance. Back to Berlin we drive the same motorways in reverse order.
Zentrum, Sparchen, Zell: arriving and the Meldezettel
Kufstein Fortress with the Kaiserturm of 1522 towers above the centre; below it lie the old town, Fischergries and the station quarter. Then there are the localities of Sparchen, Weissach with Mitterndorf, Endach and Zell with Kleinholz, Morsbach and Thierberg. Especially on the fortress hill and in the lanes of the old town, we check parking space and carrying routes in advance and, if necessary, use a smaller lorry or a furniture lift. No later than three days after moving in, you register with the Meldezettel at the town's registration office; the accommodation provider co-signs, ID is required, and alternatively it can be done online with ID Austria.
If you move back to Berlin, you deregister in Kufstein within the period from three days before to three days after moving out; in Berlin you have two weeks to register at the citizens' office (Bürgeramt). If the Berlin flat is not yet free, we store your furniture. We apply for the parking restriction outside the new Berlin address at the district office.
Kufstein in figures: volume, guide price, fixed price
Whether you are moving from Berlin to Kufstein or from Kufstein to Berlin: at the end there is a fixed price to which nothing is added later. The table shows rough guide prices by flat size:
| Flat size | Volume | Price from |
|---|---|---|
| 1-room flat | 10–15 m³ | from €350 |
| 2-room flat | 20–25 m³ | from €590 |
| 3-room flat | 30–40 m³ | from €890 |
| 4-room flat | 45–60 m³ | from €1,290 |
| House / villa | from 60 m³ | individual quote |
Specifically for the around 676 km to Kufstein, the guide price is from €2,660, valid for the outward and return route. We list toll, a second driver or a hotel night separately. Only the fixed price after the free survey is binding.
What the Kufstein fixed price actually depends on
The volume has the strongest effect on the price. On the Berlin–Kufstein route, the 676 km, the toll in both countries and the choice between two drivers and an overnight stop are added. After that, what counts are floor, lift and extras such as furniture assembly or a parking restriction. For just a few items, a shared load is the cheaper choice.
