Arriving in Falkensee: A Green Town on Berlin's Edge
Living in the Havelland
Falkensee, in the east of the Havelland district, borders directly on Berlin-Spandau and, with around 45,000 inhabitants, is the largest town in the district. The name is an invented word made from the two villages of Falkenhagen and Seegefeld, which were merged into one municipality in 1923. Many newcomers come from Berlin, continue to commute into the city and value the detached-house estates, the woods and the Falkenhagener See lake. This guide shows what comes up in the first weeks: registration at the Bürgeramt, districts, rail connections and parking.
From our location at Stromstraße 21 in Berlin-Moabit it is only around 20 km to Falkensee, about half an hour by lorry – a local move, not a long-distance move. Whether a house in Finkenkrug, a flat near the station or a detached house in Falkenhagen: we plan the home removal at a fixed price after a survey and usually complete it in one day. Read more about moves to the town on the page Moves in Falkensee.

Questions and Answers About Living in Falkensee
Falkenhagen, Seegefeld, Finkenkrug – the Districts
Falkensee was created in 1923 from the villages of Falkenhagen and Seegefeld; later estates added Finkenkrug, Falkenhöh, Falkenhain and Waldheim. There are also residential localities such as Alter Finkenkrug, Damsbrück and Finkenherd. In the east and south, the built-up area merges seamlessly into Berlin-Spandau and Dallgow-Döberitz.
In the north lies the Falkenhagener See, the largest lake in the town. Falkensee is characterised by villa and owner-occupied housing estates that grew up around the stations on the Hamburg railway line; with almost 1,000 inhabitants per km², the town is nevertheless one of the most densely populated in Brandenburg. For the southern residential areas of Seegefeld and Finkenkrug, Dallgow-Döberitz station is not far away.
Commuting, Work and Leisure
Many Falkensee residents work in Berlin. Falkensee station is on the Hamburg railway line; the Regional Express and the regional trains RB 10 and RB 14 run via Spandau to the central station, and the nearest ICE stop is Berlin-Spandau. The S-Bahn only ran to Falkensee from 1951 to 1961. Locally, the economy is shaped by small and medium-sized businesses; the largest company is a logistics centre at Seegefeld station in the Süd business park. There are ten state schools in the town.
In your free time there is the Falkenhagener See, the surrounding woods, the Museum und Galerie Falkensee and festivals in the Gutspark such as the summer cinema night. We do not give specific rents without a reliable source.
