Moving to Berlin

Everything important about moving in Falkensee
From our location at Stromstraße 21 in Berlin-Moabit it is about 20 road kilometres to Falkensee, which borders directly on Berlin-Spandau. We therefore calculate moves between Falkensee and Berlin like a regional move at a fixed price, not by the kilometre.
Commuter town on the Spandau border: how we plan in Falkensee
Praktik Transport und Umzüge comes from Berlin for your move in Falkensee: our location is at Stromstraße 21 in Moabit, about 20 road kilometres away. Falkensee borders directly on Berlin-Spandau to the east and is connected to the Berlin ring road (A10) via the Falkensee junction. The federal road B5 runs south of the town through Dallgow-Döberitz. Via the Hamburg railway line with the stations Falkensee, Seegefeld and Finkenkrug, the town is closely linked to Berlin – this shapes moving logistics: long-established residential streets meet newer estates on the edge of town.
A typical move in Falkensee with us runs in clear steps:
- Enquiry with flat size and floor, survey by video or by arrangement
- Fixed-price quote including packing material and a note on whether a no-parking zone makes sense
- Packing of furniture, household goods and delicate items
- Journey from Berlin-Moabit and transport via the A10 or directly through Spandau
- Furniture assembly and set-up at the new home, including taking away the packing material
Falkensee is the largest town in the Havelland district. For moves within the town, from Falkensee to Berlin or vice versa, we therefore ask for the exact address: access, street width and parking differ considerably between the older streets in Seegefeld and the estates in Falkenhöh or Waldheim. This way we avoid waiting times and ensure an orderly process from the first box to the last screw in your new home.
Seegefeld, Finkenkrug, Falkenhöh: residential areas in Falkensee
Falkensee is divided into several neighbourhoods that differ considerably in building style, transport links and moving requirements. As a moving company from Berlin-Moabit, we adapt our planning for Falkensee to each residential location.
- Falkensee centre: around Poststraße and Falkensee station (RB14) there are shops, apartment buildings and heavier traffic – forward-looking parking planning is particularly important here.
- Finkenkrug: quiet villa area with spacious plots near Finkenkrug station, often with detached houses and larger moving volumes.
- Seegefeld: historically grown neighbourhood with narrower period-building streets, where a no-parking zone often makes moving day considerably easier.
- Falkenhöh: residential area with mixed development of detached houses and smaller apartment buildings.
- Waldheim: green, quiet neighbourhood on the edge of town with good connections towards Brieselang and the adjacent woodland.
The immediate neighbourhood also plays a role: many customers move between Falkensee and neighbouring Berlin-Spandau, but also from or to Dallgow-Döberitz and Brieselang. For you, these short distances often mean a purely regional move at a fair fixed price instead of an expensive per-kilometre rate. For flats in the neighbourhoods near the centre, we recommend setting up a no-parking zone early because of limited parking, while in Finkenkrug or Waldheim larger plots usually offer more room to manoeuvre for our removal vehicles. Whatever neighbourhood your move takes place in, we clarify the route and parking space for the removal van during the survey.
Moving costs in Falkensee: prices at a glance
The moving costs in Falkensee depend on the size of the flat, floor, distance and the scope of services you want. Even as a moving company from Berlin, we calculate transparently and with no hidden extra costs so that you can plan your move realistically.
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| Move, one-room flat | from €349 |
| Move, two-room flat | from €594 |
| Move, three-room flat | from €909 |
| Longer distances (nationwide) | from €3.80/km |
| No-parking zone per day | €30–100 |
These guide values apply to standard moves within Falkensee, for example between the neighbourhoods of Falkensee centre, Finkenkrug, Seegefeld, Falkenhöh and Waldheim, as well as to short distances to Berlin-Spandau. Important factors that influence the final price include:
- Floor and whether there is a lift, particularly relevant in the period buildings of Seegefeld
- Accessibility and parking situation at the loading point and destination
- Extra services such as clearance or piano transport
- Packing material required and scope of assembly work
- Distance for a move to Potsdam or other destinations outside Falkensee
On request, after a short inventory, we prepare a free, non-binding fixed-price quote. This way you know exactly what costs to expect before moving day – with no nasty surprises on the bill or extra hours. Especially for moves within Falkensee, for example from Finkenkrug to near the station, it is worth comparing the service packages to find the right value for money for your individual moving situation.
Space for the removal van in Seegefeld and the centre
Anyone moving in Falkensee knows the problem: especially in the central streets around Poststraße and in Seegefeld, parking is limited and quickly taken on moving days. So that our removal van can stop right in front of the door, an official no-parking zone is often sensible, applied for in good time from the responsible road traffic authority and signposted.
Depending on location, period and required signage, the costs of a no-parking zone are between €30 and €100 per day. In narrower period-building streets, for example in Seegefeld, or on busy roads, applying early is particularly important in order to avoid fines for wrongly parked cars and to load and unload the removal van without obstruction.
The following points are particularly relevant when planning parking in Falkensee:
- Narrow period-building streets in Seegefeld and the town centre often require early signage
- New-build areas with their own parking spaces usually do not need an additional no-parking zone
- Commercial areas often have their own access and delivery times
- For moves to or from Berlin-Spandau, municipal traffic regulations must also be observed
During the survey we tell you whether a zone is needed and how long it should be; the application and signs follow the town's requirements (see the section on the application further below). Especially in densely built residential areas, the investment in a no-parking zone usually pays for itself through the time saved and the smooth parking situation on moving day.
From Falkensee to Berlin and other Brandenburg towns
Many moves from Falkensee go to Berlin – to neighbouring Spandau or other districts – or to another town in Brandenburg. Our location in Berlin-Moabit is about 20 road kilometres from Falkensee; further destinations are also easy to reach via the Berlin ring road (A10) and the Falkensee junction. For longer distances, our price list states from €3.80 per kilometre; you receive the binding price as a fixed price after the survey.
Requested destinations within Brandenburg include:
- Move to Potsdam – reachable via the A10, good for moves within the region
- Move to Oranienburg – via the northern Berlin ring road
- Move to Brandenburg an der Havel – further west on the Havel
- Move to Cottbus – to Lusatia
- Move to Frankfurt (Oder) – towards the Polish border
For smaller quantities, such as individual pieces of furniture or boxes, there is the part-load – useful when a whole removal van is not needed. For longer distances too, we plan everything with you on request: packing, transport and furniture assembly at the new home. We agree the arrival time in advance so that nobody has to wait at the destination – whether your new home is in Brandenburg or in Berlin.
Services for your move in Falkensee
As a moving company from Berlin-Moabit, we offer a broad range of services in Falkensee, tailored to the different needs of private and commercial customers in the town and surrounding neighbourhoods. From a small one-room flat in the centre to a detached house in Finkenkrug – we have the right solution for every moving situation.
- Private move – complete service for flats and houses throughout Falkensee
- Company move – for offices and businesses, even on a tight schedule
- Part-load – cost-effective transport of smaller quantities within the region
- Clearance – for cellars, attics or complete household clearances
- No-parking zone – advice on the application and signage
- Piano transport – transport of delicate instruments
- Senior move – considerate move with all-round support
- Student move – fast, straightforward and budget-friendly
We combine these services flexibly depending on the residential location: in the period-building quarters of Seegefeld a no-parking zone is often sensible, while the larger houses in Finkenkrug often need additional capacity for furniture and belongings. For household clearances, for example when moving into assisted living, we plan the clearance and the move together. This way you get all moving services in Falkensee from a single source – with personal support and transparent pricing, and with our team travelling from Berlin-Moabit.
Office and practice moves in Falkensee
Falkensee is also a location for small and medium-sized businesses, not least because of its connection to Berlin via the A10 and the railway. The town has offices, practices and trade businesses that rely on a smooth company move when relocating.
Our team plans office and company moves in Falkensee so that ongoing operations are affected as little as possible. This includes, among other things:
- Moving dates outside core working hours or at weekends
- Dismantling and assembly of office furniture, server cabinets and reception desks
- Labelling system for files and work materials so that everything can be found again quickly at the new location
- Coordination with IT service providers for network technology and IT equipment
- Organising a no-parking zone in front of the office building, especially in busy locations near the centre
We are also the right contact for companies expanding from Falkensee or opening a branch – for example for a move to Potsdam or other parts of Brandenburg. Thanks to the short distances between Falkensee and Berlin-Spandau, moves with tight time windows can also be carried out without customer appointments or production processes suffering. Whether a small medical practice or a larger office: we set out team size, dates and process in the quote after the site visit – discreetly and on schedule.
Student moves in Falkensee: process and booking
Falkensee is directly connected to Berlin by the RB14 regional train, which makes the town attractive for students looking for affordable housing outside the city centre who still want to reach their Berlin university quickly. For this group we offer a dedicated student move tailored to small moving volumes, tight budgets and mostly short-notice dates.
Typical features of our student move in Falkensee:
- Compact vehicles for shared-flat rooms or small one-room flats from €349
- Flexible scheduling, even at short notice around the change of semester
- Help transporting furniture from DIY stores or classified ads
- Optional part-load if only a few boxes and pieces of furniture need to be transported
Our booking process is deliberately kept simple: first you receive a non-binding quote via our contact form or by phone, in which you state the size of the flat, the desired date and any particular features such as the floor or parking situation. We then confirm the date and clarify whether a no-parking zone is necessary – for example for flats in the more densely built centre of Falkensee. On moving day, our team handles packing, transport and set-up at the new home, whether it is within Falkensee, in Berlin-Spandau or in another Brandenburg town. For larger households we also recommend our classic private move, while the student move is particularly suitable for smaller, uncomplicated changes. This is how we make moving stress-free, transparent and fairly priced for students in Falkensee.
No-parking zone for a move in Falkensee: application, deadline and signs
If the removal van in Falkensee cannot be loaded and unloaded in front of the house without disruption, you can have a no-parking zone approved. According to the service description on falkensee.de, the decision is made by the road traffic authority of the municipal or town administration or of the district office (Landratsamt); the first point of contact is the town administration. The legal basis is § 45 (6) of the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO).
The application should be submitted at least 14 days before the start of the move. The town lists the required details as your name and address, the reason, location and area of the closure, the duration and an overview map or sketch. The fees depend on the extent of the restriction and the road or pavement area used; additional costs may arise for the traffic signs.
After approval, the no-parking zone must be signposted with the prescribed traffic signs at least three to four days before the move and remain in place for the duration of the move. The town recommends asking the administration whether signs can be borrowed.
Because Falkensee is in the Havelland district and many households move here from Berlin, we plan moves between Berlin and Falkensee from our location at Stromstraße 21 in Berlin-Moabit. You can read more about our service for the closure under no-parking zone. If you are coming from the capital, you will find information on the page about moves in Berlin.
Falkensee: residential areas, detached houses and re-registering at the citizens' office
According to the town, Falkensee, with around 46,900 inhabitants (as of 7 November 2025), is the largest town in the Havelland district and is not part of an Amt (amtsfrei). On falkensee.de, the residential areas Falkenhain, Falkenhagen, Falkenhöh, Seegefeld, Finkenkrug, Waldheim and Alter Finkenkrug are listed. For your move this means: depending on the residential area, street width, access and parking situation can differ, so give the exact address in the quote request and the no-parking zone application.
For detached and terraced houses in particular, we clarify in advance how close the van can get, how long the carrying distances are and whether stairs or cellars need to be planned for. This helps you choose the length of the no-parking zone.
After moving in, you register at the Bürgeramt Falkensee, Poststraße 31. The town states a deadline of two weeks for this. You need to bring a valid identity document and, if possible, the landlord confirmation (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung), which you can download from the website. According to the town, opening hours are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am to 6 pm and Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 am to 1 pm. Appointments are only given in exceptional cases. Deregistering in Berlin is not necessary for a move within Germany; according to the town, it is only needed when moving abroad or giving up a secondary residence.
