Moving from Berlin to Falkensee (Brandenburg) – and back

From Moabit to Falkensee: one team, one moving day
Across the city boundary
From our base at Stromstraße 21 in Moabit it is only around 20 kilometres to Falkensee. The lorry drives right through Spandau and along the old highway to Nauen, today the L 201, which is called Spandauer Straße in Falkensee – barely half an hour without traffic. On a move from Berlin to Falkensee, then, it is not the route that matters but the carrying: the stairwell in Berlin, the garden or house entrance at the destination, parking at both addresses. We look at this during the survey and turn it into your fixed price.
Many move from a Berlin flat into a house with a garden in one of Falkensee's neighbourhoods, others back into the city. We pack, dismantle and reassemble kitchens and wardrobes, and bring garden furniture, workbench or cellar contents along too. Because Falkensee is already in Brandenburg, we apply for the parking restriction zones at two different authorities. For damage we are liable under HGB (§ 451e: €620 per cubic metre); more cover is available on request. That way you are moved in, in Falkensee or Berlin, by the evening of moving day.

FAQ on moving in both directions
Between Berlin and Falkensee: moving in both directions
Falkensee lies in the east of the Havelland district and borders Berlin directly; to the east and south the built-up area merges seamlessly into Spandau. With around 46,000 inhabitants it is one of the larger towns in Berlin's surrounding area. Anyone moving from Berlin to Falkensee is often looking for more space, a house with a garden or simply more greenery, while staying close to the city. For us that means: bringing furniture from a flat into a house, reassembling the kitchen and wardrobes and taking the garden tools along too.
The return move from Falkensee to Berlin is just as much a one-day job – because of a new job, a university place or because a smaller flat suits better. The same team drives in both directions, and the fixed price is set after the survey.
20 km from Moabit: route and schedule on moving day
From Stromstraße 21 it is around 20 kilometres to Falkensee, with no motorway at all. The lorry drives through Spandau and along the old highway from Spandau to Nauen, today's L 201 – in Falkensee it is called Spandauer, Falkenhagener and Nauener Straße. Depending on the neighbourhood at the destination, it continues along other roads. Without traffic that is around half an hour of pure driving by lorry; in rush hour we allow more.
The day has three parts: loading with blankets and straps at the pick-up address, the short drive and then unloading and furniture assembly at the destination. This applies to the move to Falkensee as well as the return move to Berlin.
Six neighbourhoods: arriving in Falkensee
Falkensee includes the former villages of Falkenhagen and Seegefeld as well as Finkenkrug, Falkenhöh, Falkenhain and Waldheim; to the north lies the Falkenhagener See. By rail, the regional trains of the Hamburg line stop in Seegefeld, Falkensee and Finkenkrug; an S-Bahn has not run since 1961. For the move, the driveway, garden path and parking outside the house matter most – we check this in advance. After moving in, register with the registration office of the town of Falkensee within two weeks.
For a return move to Berlin the same deadline applies at the citizens' office (Bürgeramt), with ID and landlord confirmation (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung). We apply for the parking restriction outside the Berlin address at the road traffic authority of the district office; the signs must be up 72 hours beforehand.

What affects the price of your Berlin–Falkensee move?
The biggest factor is the volume. On a Berlin–Falkensee move the distance (around 20 km, from €4/km) plays only a small role. Other factors: floor, lift and additional services such as furniture assembly or a parking restriction zone. With a part load you save even more on small quantities.
