Your questions about moving in Oranienburg
The costs depend on the size of the flat, the floor and the access routes. As a guide: one-room flat from €375, two-room flat from €594 and three-room flat from €884. After a free survey you receive an exact fixed-price quote.
District town on the Havel: how we plan moves in Oranienburg
Oranienburg is the district town of the Oberhavel district and lies about 33 road kilometres north of our location in Berlin-Moabit, on the Havel and the Oder-Havel Canal. The town combines rural peace and quiet with good connections to the capital: the S1 S-Bahn line terminates here, the RE5 regional train connects Oranienburg with Berlin Hauptbahnhof, and via the B96 and the Oranienburg motorway interchange (A10/A111) the town is also easy to reach by car. For a smooth move in Oranienburg we take these local conditions into account from the outset.
Our process always begins with a free survey by video or by arrangement, during which we check access routes, floors, lifts and the parking situation. Especially in the historic old town around Oranienburg Palace and the market square, the streets are often narrow, so precise planning of the transport vehicle and loading zone is crucial. In the Eden settlement or in neighbourhoods such as Germendorf, on the other hand, access looks different; we clarify this for each address.
After the survey you receive a transparent fixed-price quote with no hidden costs. On moving day, our team from Berlin takes care of packing and unpacking, transport and, on request, furniture assembly. For private households we offer the classic private move, and for older residents a particularly gentle senior move with great consideration for familiar routines.
- Free survey by video or by arrangement
- Planning for narrow old-town streets and spread-out neighbourhoods
- Fixed price after a survey with no hidden costs
- Connections via the S1, RE5, B96 and A111 firmly built in
Eden, Lehnitz, Germendorf: residential areas in Oranienburg
Oranienburg is divided into several neighbourhoods with very different characters, which directly affects the planning of a move. The Eden settlement, founded in 1893 as a fruit-growing colony, has many small detached houses and narrow access roads, while Lehnitz on the lake of the same name is known as a quiet villa quarter with larger plots. Here, access for larger removal vans plays an important role, which we plan precisely in advance.
In the Sachsenhausen neighbourhood we clarify floor, lift and access for each address. In Friedrichsthal, Germendorf and Malz, which lie outside the town centre, we check in advance whether the van can stop directly in front of the house. The more rural neighbourhoods of Wensickendorf, Zehlendorf and Schmachtenhagen are somewhat outside the centre and often require slightly longer approach routes, which we include transparently when calculating the quote.
For changes of flat within the town, for example from the old town to Eden or from Lehnitz to Sachsenhausen, we clarify access, parking options and stairwell in advance. Neighbouring municipalities in the Oberhavel district and residential areas in Falkensee also belong to our area of operation, so moves within the region run smoothly. Anyone moving from a cramped period flat in the town centre to a newly built terraced house on the edge of town gets the same planning as tenants moving within the same neighbourhood.
- Eden: fruit-growing settlement from 1893 with narrow access roads
- Lehnitz: villa quarter by the lake with large plots
- Sachsenhausen: clarify access for each address
- Friedrichsthal, Germendorf, Malz: neighbourhoods outside the town centre
Moving costs in Oranienburg: prices & influencing factors
The moving costs in Oranienburg depend on several factors: the size of the flat, the distance between the old and new address, the floor, whether there is a lift and any extra services required, such as no-parking zones, clearance or piano transport. As Oranienburg includes both dense old-town buildings and spread-out neighbourhoods such as Wensickendorf, we calculate every journey individually and transparently.
| Flat size | Price from | Typical example |
|---|---|---|
| One-room flat | from €375 | Single apartment in the town centre |
| Two-room flat | from €594 | Couple's household in Eden or Sachsenhausen |
| Three-room flat | from €884 | Family flat in Germendorf |
Extra services are added to the basic costs as required. If you only want to transport a few pieces of furniture, you save real money with our part-load, as the cargo space is shared with other moves in the region. For household clearances, for example after a death or when moving out of a senior flat, we also offer a professional clearance service, which is calculated as a separate item.
The time of year also plays a role: in the summer months and at the end of the month, moving dates are generally in demand, so early booking pays off. As a rule, the more precise the details about boxes, furniture and access routes during the survey, the more precise the fixed-price quote. This way you avoid nasty surprises on moving day and keep an eye on the costs of your move in Oranienburg from the start.
Loading zone around Schlossplatz and Marktplatz
Anyone moving in Oranienburg's old town, around Schlossplatz or in other narrow streets of the town centre knows the problem: parking is scarce, and a removal van needs enough space directly in front of the door. So that nothing goes wrong on moving day, an official no-parking zone is sensible, applied for in good time from the responsible office and signposted (see the section further below).
Signs are usually put up several days before the moving date so that residents and other road users are sufficiently informed and wrongly parked cars can be towed away consistently. This creates free loading zones and shortens carrying distances considerably, which makes a real difference especially in narrow old-town streets with historic paving or in the narrow side streets of the Eden garden town.
Depending on location, period and permit effort, the costs of a no-parking zone in Oranienburg are between €30 and €100 per day. We clarify during the survey whether a zone is needed and how long it should be; photos of the signs help if obstructions nevertheless occur. You can find all the details on this topic on our no-parking zone page.
A no-parking zone set up early is also sensible for company moves in commercial areas with delivery traffic or for moves in apartment buildings with limited parking spaces. This secures enough space for the removal van, lifting platform and manoeuvring, without delays caused by blocked streets. Contact us early so that the permit is in place in good time before your moving date.
- Application to the responsible office in good time
- Signs put up several days in advance
- Costs between €30–100 depending on location and duration
- Particularly useful in the old town, Lehnitz and Eden
From Oranienburg to Berlin and other Brandenburg towns
Many moves from Oranienburg go to Berlin or to another town in Brandenburg. The A10 (northern Berlin ring road) and the A111 meet at the Oranienburg motorway interchange, where the B96 also begins; via the A111 it is about 33 road kilometres from our location at Stromstraße 21 in Berlin-Moabit. For longer distances, our price list states from €3.85 per kilometre, depending on moving volume and extra services; you receive the binding price as a fixed price after the survey.
Requested destinations within Brandenburg include, for example:
- Potsdam – via the western Berlin ring road
- Falkensee – on the west side of Berlin-Spandau
- Brandenburg an der Havel – further west on the Havel
- Frankfurt (Oder) – on the Polish border
- Cottbus – in Lusatia
For smaller moving volumes, such as individual pieces of furniture or a few boxes, our part-load is often worthwhile, where your goods travel with other jobs in the same direction. This lowers the costs if your date is somewhat flexible.
For larger moves, for example to southern Germany or the Rhineland, we plan the run with loading and unloading times and, if necessary, an overnight stay for the team. A piano or grand piano also travels securely with our piano transport. This keeps your move from Oranienburg plannable, with the costs fixed beforehand.

As a moving company from Berlin-Moabit, we offer a broad range of services in Oranienburg, tailored to the different needs of private individuals, families and businesses. Whether a small flat in the old town or a large detached house in Malz – we provide the right team and equipment.
- Private move: complete flat and house move including packing, transport and furniture assembly
- Company move: office and business moves with minimal disruption to day-to-day business
- Part-load: cost-effective transport of smaller moving volumes within the region and beyond
- Clearance: professional clearing of cellars, attics and entire households
- No-parking zone: organisation and signage for free loading and parking areas
- Piano transport: secured transport of upright and grand pianos
- Senior move: sensitive support when moving to a smaller flat or care home

All services can be combined flexibly, for example a private move with simultaneous clearance of the old cellar, or a company move with a no-parking zone set up in front of the new office building at the same time. We clarify streets, neighbourhoods and access routes during the survey so that there are no waiting times on moving day and the process stays swift.
On request, we also dismantle and install kitchens, assemble furniture professionally and carry out the final cleaning of the old flat, so that you can concentrate fully on your fresh start in Oranienburg.
Office and business moves in the district town
Oranienburg is not only a place to live but also an important business location in the Oberhavel district. The district town is home to administration, trade businesses, retailers and service providers that depend on an orderly move when relocating. For these businesses we organise professional company moves that disrupt ongoing operations as little as possible.
An office move in Oranienburg requires precise planning: IT infrastructure, server rooms, files and furniture must be dismantled, transported and reassembled at the new location in a structured way. For this we draw up a detailed schedule in advance, often with the move at the weekend or in the evening, so that regular operations can start without interruption on Monday. Our company move service covers the complete logistics, from labelling the moving boxes to restoring the workstations.
For companies that also want to get rid of old stock, discarded furniture or file archives as part of a move, we additionally offer a professional clearance service, the process of which we agree with you in advance. In tight town-centre locations, for example near the market square, we also clarify whether a no-parking zone is needed so that vans and removal lorries can load and unload directly in front of the office building without searching for a parking space.
Whether a small start-up in a co-working office or an established medium-sized company with several departments – we adapt our approach to the size and structure of your company and ensure a smooth move in Oranienburg and the whole Oberhavel region.
Student moves in Oranienburg: process & booking
Many students commute via the S1 or the RE5 regional train between Oranienburg and the Berlin university sites or study at institutions in the region. For shared-flat rooms, small apartments or the move to a new student flat, we offer a dedicated student move that is calculated quickly, simply and with your budget in mind. As usually only a few pieces of furniture and boxes are transported, the work can often be done in a few hours.
The process is kept simple: after a short inventory by phone, email or video you receive a straightforward fixed-price quote, often combined with our part-load if the move takes place together with other runs towards Berlin or within Brandenburg. This way students save real money without having to do without reliable transport. You can find details of our services under student move.
Booking itself takes three simple steps: first you send an enquiry via our contact form, by phone or WhatsApp with the key details such as flat size, floor and preferred date. You then promptly receive a transparent quote that you can check without obligation. After your confirmation, we firmly reserve the desired date in our calendar.
On moving day itself, our team takes care of carrying, transport and, on request, minor assembly work such as putting up a bed frame or shelf. Especially for short-notice changes at the start of semester in Oranienburg, we value flexible dates so that spontaneous moves can also be carried out reliably.
- Fast quotes by phone, email or WhatsApp
- Combination with a part-load for affordable prices
- Flexible dates, even at short notice around the change of semester
- A fixed contact person from enquiry to moving day
No-parking zone in Oranienburg: the Oberhavel district is responsible
If you need a no-parking zone for your move in Oranienburg, you do not contact the town hall. On its page on road traffic matters, the Town of Oranienburg writes that the administration of the Oberhavel district is essentially responsible. The address is Landkreis Oberhavel, Adolf-Dechert-Straße 1, 16515 Oranienburg, telephone 03301 601-0.
The district provides an application form under “Verkehrsrechtliche Anordnung – Antrag” (traffic order – application). According to the page, it is designed for securing a work site under § 45 (6) StVO and mentions no-parking zones, among other things. For construction sites, the district asks that the application be submitted at least two weeks before the start. You should clarify by phone whether the same deadline applies to a move. If a company submits the application on your behalf, a power of attorney must be enclosed according to the district.
The district gives its office hours as Tuesdays 9 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 6 pm, and Thursdays 9 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4 pm. When you call, also clarify who delivers and puts up the signs. The district does not give fee details for moves on the pages we checked.
Our no-parking zone page offers general information on the topic. Further information on districts and costs is contained in our Oranienburg guide.
Oranienburg neighbourhoods, registration and bulky waste when moving
In addition to the town area, the Town of Oranienburg lists eight neighbourhoods: Friedrichsthal, Germendorf, Lehnitz, Malz, Sachsenhausen, Schmachtenhagen, Wensickendorf and Zehlendorf. Tell us the street, neighbourhood and floor when you enquire so that we can plan the journey.
According to the town, you must register within 14 days of moving in. Registration is free of charge. The responsible office is the citizens' office (Bürgeramt, part of the Ordnungsamt), Schloßplatz 1, Haus II, 16515 Oranienburg, telephone (03301) 600-640. You must bring the ID of everyone moving and the landlord confirmation (Wohnungsgeberbescheinigung); a tenancy agreement does not replace it. You book appointments online at oranienburg.de/termine. According to the town, appointments are mandatory from 2 November 2026; on Tuesdays it is still possible to visit without an appointment.
AWU Oberhavel helps with decluttering: households can have their bulky waste collected free of charge once a year; the costs are covered by the basic charge. Booking is online or with a bulky waste card. You may put the items out at the earliest on the evening before and at the latest by 6 am on the collection day. In addition, according to AWU, until December 2027 households can drop off normal household quantities of up to 2 m³ free of charge at the Germendorf and Gransee recycling centres.
