A Company Move: Avoid These Mistakes

Typical pitfalls
Business relocation without downtime: mistakes that get expensive
Avoiding mistakes
A business relocation confronts businesses with different tasks from a home move: alongside furniture, IT, files, workshop, warehouse and sometimes production equipment move too. Many businesses underestimate the planning effort and thereby risk downtime, damage or deliveries to the old address. A structured relocation concept with an inventory list, a phased plan and clear responsibilities prevents most of these mistakes before they cost money.
Early coordination with all departments is particularly important: who disconnects the machinery, who counts the stock, who re-registers the business? We draw up a relocation plan with a labelling system so that every box and every device ends up in the right place. Treat files and data carriers separately with data protection in mind. For moves to other cities we support you as part of our long-distance moves service.

Have your business relocation checked in advance and get a fixed price
Survey first, fixed price after
Call us on 01625978461 and arrange a free survey for your business relocation. We look at access, machinery and the warehouse and raise typical pitfalls before they become expensive. You then receive a fixed price – whether for a small office or an entire business premises.
Quotes available individually based on workload, scheduling and the desired scope of services.

How we catch mistakes early
Check beforehand instead of repairing afterwards
We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21, Moabit) and know that in a business relocation every hour of downtime costs money. That is why we look at both sites before the quote, ask about machinery, warehouse and IT and plan the move in stages if that keeps the business running. The fixed price is set before booking, and our liability for your inventory follows the rules of the HGB. Places with their own pages can be found under Locations, and more about the service under Business relocation.

Six mistakes that cost businesses money
Most costly mistakes in a business relocation do not happen on moving day, but weeks beforehand. These are the six we see most often – and all of them can be prevented with a little lead time.
Planned too late
Machinery underestimated
Stock not counted
Business not re-registered
Parking restriction zone forgotten
Liability not checked
Shared loads: only for the right case
For individual departments, an archive or a few devices, a shared load can be cheaper than a dedicated lorry. It would be a mistake to move the whole business this way: a shared load travels within an agreed time window, not on a fixed deadline. We will tell you during the survey when it fits.

Your
move – fully organised
A common mistake in a business relocation: taking everything. Old files whose retention period has expired, broken equipment and unused furniture cost cargo space and time. Sort things out beforehand – if needed, our house clearance can help. We support employees who are relocating for work with their private move, and businesses with a new site in another city with long-distance moves.

Questions about typical mistakes
The most frequent mistakes in the company move
Many companies plan a business relocation at too short notice and considerably underestimate the organisational effort. A lack of coordination between the IT department, facility management and the moving service provider often leads to unnecessary delays and extra costs. The lack of a clear labelling system for boxes and furniture also regularly causes chaos at the new site.
Another classic mistake is a lack of communication with staff, which creates uncertainty and losses in productivity. Anyone who also relies on cheap amateur helpers instead of professional removal companies risks damage to expensive office equipment and IT. With a clear relocation plan and fixed responsibilities, these pitfalls can be avoided from the start.
Process and costs of a professional company move
A professional business relocation starts with a detailed on-site inventory in which we record furniture, IT equipment and special items. We then draw up an individual schedule that minimises business interruptions and ideally takes place at the weekend. The costs depend on the number of employees, the floor area of the offices and special services such as furniture assembly or an IT move.
After the survey you receive a fixed price that includes the agreed services. On moving day our team handles dismantling, transport and professional setup at the new site. Finally, we check all systems together with you, so that business operations can resume immediately.
The moving cost calculator: our guide values
| Property | Starting price |
|---|---|
| 1 room | €365 |
| 2 rooms | €579 |
| 3 rooms | €889 |
| 4 rooms | €1,279 |
| House/villa | individual |
| Long-distance move | €3.95/km |

Moving prices: the decisive criteria
Important factors are the volume, the distance (from €3.95/km), the floor and the lift. A parking restriction zone may also be required. We charge separately for furniture assembly and a shared load.
