Company Move: Process Costs & Tips

Business relocation
Business relocation: from measuring up to restarting operations
Process and costs
A business relocation is more than a big office move: often a workshop, warehouse, machinery and stock move too, and every day of downtime costs revenue. That is why every job begins with a survey at both sites, in which we record volume, weights, access and time windows. This results in a relocation plan that sets out what is dismantled, transported and set up again, and when. Our liability for your inventory follows the rules of the HGB; if this limit is not enough for expensive equipment, we discuss additional insurance.
On moving day we dismantle office furniture, secure shelving and small parts, load pallets and boxes in the planned order and set everything up again at the new site according to the room plan. Heavy machinery, high-voltage connections or servers are clarified in advance with your specialists or the manufacturer. If the business is moving to another city, we plan the transport as a long-distance move. You receive the fixed price before booking, so the costs are in the budget from the start.

A fixed price for office, workshop and warehouse
Call us on 01625978461 and arrange a survey of both sites. We record the office, workshop, warehouse and machinery, clarify access and time windows and then give you a fixed price for your business relocation. We coordinate the process so that your business is at a standstill for as short a time as possible.
Quotes available individually based on workload, scheduling and the desired scope of services.

How we approach a business move
Plan, relocate, restart
We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21, Moabit) and plan business relocations in clear stages: first an inventory, then a relocation plan, then the move itself – in the evening or at the weekend on request. We give you the fixed price after the survey. Our liability for your inventory follows the HGB; the scope of liability is stated in the quote, and for machinery or expensive technology we discuss additional insurance. Read more about the service under Business relocation, and find places with their own pages under Locations.

What determines the costs of a business relocation
How expensive a business relocation turns out depends less on the number of employees than on volume, weight and time windows. These six items determine the fixed price you receive after the survey.
Volume and pallets
Machinery and heavy loads
Floors and access
Time window
Parking restriction
Additional services
Small business, small load
If only a small business, a shop or a single department is moving, a shared load can be cheaper: furniture, boxes or individual devices travel on a lorry that is heading in your direction anyway. Instead of a fixed day, we agree a time window – a good idea if there is no pressing deadline.

Moving
& transport from a single source
Around a business relocation, tasks arise that have little to do with furniture: re-registering the business at the new site, informing customers and suppliers, updating the legal notice (Impressum) and invoice templates. If employees are relocating for work too, we also help with the private move. If the business is changing city, we organise the transport as a long-distance move. For parking space in front of both addresses, there is our parking restriction zone service.

Questions about business moves
Process of a company move: step by step
A successful business relocation starts with a detailed on-site survey in which we define the scope, special features and timeframe together with you. We then draw up an individual relocation plan that precisely coordinates dismantling, packing, transport and assembly in order to minimise downtime. Particularly sensitive areas such as server rooms or archives are planned separately and secured with special packing materials.
On the actual moving day, our well-rehearsed team works to a clear schedule, so that all furniture, technology and documents are transported in an orderly way. After arrival at the new site we assemble the furniture and put technology and machinery in their place; connecting them is handled by your IT and electrical specialists. When the business will be fully running again is set out in the relocation plan – for pure office space often on the next working day, for workshops with machinery usually later.
Costs, advantages and tips for your company move
The costs of a business relocation depend on factors such as volume, distance, floors, heavy machinery, stock and special services such as furniture assembly or an IT move. Thanks to our transparent fixed-price model, you receive a binding quote in advance without hidden extra costs. A professional moving partner also saves your employees valuable working time, so they can continue to focus on the core business.
For a smooth process we recommend planning around two to three months in advance – commercial leases, telephone and internet connections and machinery servicing often have long lead times. It also makes sense to label all boxes and pieces of furniture clearly by department, to speed up setting up at the new site. Inform customers and suppliers about the new address in good time to avoid business interruptions. The business can usually deduct the moving costs as operating expenses (§ 4 para. 4 EStG); keep the quote and invoice.
