How long does an office move take?

The duration of an office move depends on the number of workstations and the scope of the IT infrastructure. Smaller offices can often move within one day, while larger companies sometimes need an entire weekend. We plan the date so that your business operations are interrupted as little as possible and you are quickly able to work again.

Which services are included in the fixed price?

What the fixed price includes is stated in the quote – as a rule, transport, dismantling and assembly of the office furniture and transport of the IT equipment. Whether packing material is included is also shown; liability is under the HGB. Additional services such as disposal, cleaning or file storage are listed separately in the individual quote.

Is the office move covered?

Yes. We are liable for damage to furniture and equipment under the HGB rules for removals, by law up to €620 per cubic metre of belongings (§ 451e HGB). For expensive equipment, additional insurance is worthwhile, which we can arrange on request. Also check whether your business insurance already covers transport.

Can we keep working during the move?

With many office moves, operations can continue without interruption if the move takes place in stages or outside business hours. We coordinate the process individually with you to minimise interruptions. We often schedule larger moves at weekends so that all employees can carry on working straight away on the next working day.

How is the IT infrastructure handled during the move?

We dismantle computers, monitors, printers and network components, pack them with padding and set them up again at the workstations at the new location. Connecting them to the server and network and testing that they work is best done by your IT department or IT service provider. Agree on the order early so that downtime stays short.

What happens to confidential files during an office move?

We handle confidential documents with particular care to ensure data protection at all times. Files are transported in locked containers and handled only by our staff. On request we also offer secure interim storage until the new premises are fully set up.

Do you also offer office moves over long distances?

Yes, besides regional moves we also organise office moves throughout Germany. For moves over greater distances we recommend our long-distance moves service, which is tailored specifically to the logistical requirements of longer routes. This way your move also runs smoothly across city or federal state borders.

What is a part load and when is it worth it?

With a part load you share the load space of a van with other moves, which reduces the costs considerably. This option is particularly suitable for smaller office moves or individual departments with a low moving volume. However, the delivery date is less flexible, as several moves have to be coordinated.

How early should an office move be planned?

We recommend planning an office move at least six to eight weeks in advance, especially for larger companies. This leaves enough time to organise the IT move, dismantling of furniture and official changes of address. If you need a move at short notice, we will nevertheless do our best to offer a suitable date as quickly as possible.

Do you also dispose of old office furniture?

Yes, on request we properly dispose of office furniture that is no longer needed – through our house clearance service. You can sell well-preserved pieces beforehand or donate them to charitable organisations. Every piece of furniture that does not move with you also reduces volume and effort and therefore the cost of the move.

How we make the costs of your office move predictable

Date, stages, clear items

We give you the price for your office move as a fixed price after a survey; liability is under the German Commercial Code (HGB), and additional insurance for equipment is available on request. Our staff pack office furniture, equipment and documents according to a room plan with labels. On request we schedule the move outside business hours so that your day-to-day business carries on. Besides office moves, we also handle private moves and long-distance moves from Berlin.

Packing service

We pack folders, desk contents and the kitchenette according to the room plan – with the team's packing service, your employees lose no working time.

Weekend date

A move from Friday evening to Sunday often costs a little more but saves downtime – usually the more expensive item in an office move.

Assembly service

We dismantle desks, mobile pedestals and cupboards and reassemble them at the new location. The number of workstations determines this item.

Moving files

Files travel in locked containers and are put back according to plan – charged by the running metre as part of furniture transport.

Computers, monitors, printers and the server cabinet need padding and time. Clarify early who dismantles them and who connects them at the new location.

Floors and lift

Whether there is a goods lift and how far it is to the lorry determines the staff needed and the duration – at both addresses.

Date

Moving in the evening or at the weekend reduces downtime but can cost more. Weigh up both before the date is set.

Disposal

There is no credible average price, because workstations, quantity of files, floors and route vary greatly from office to office. Larger companies with several floors pay correspondingly more. After a free survey you receive a binding quote as a fixed price in which all agreed services are listed individually.

How an office move works: our approach

A professional office move begins with a free on-site survey, during which we record the scope of the move and clarify any open questions. We then draw up a detailed moving plan with a clear time window that is tailored to your business operations. On moving day our specialists take care of the proper dismantling, packing and transport of all items.

At the new location the workstations are quickly reassembled; connecting the technical equipment is done by your IT. On request we also take care of the disposal of furniture that is no longer needed. This lets you concentrate fully on your day-to-day business while we organise the entire move.

The costs of an office move in detail

The costs of an office move are made up of several factors: the number of workstations, the quantity of files, the distance between the old and new location, floors and lift, additional services such as furniture assembly or IT dismantling, and the time frame. A flat price per workstation would therefore not be credible – two offices with the same number of workstations can involve very different amounts of effort.
