Furniture lift: what it costs and when it really pays off
Price and benefit
The cost of a furniture lift depends on several factors: the floor, the operating time, the space in front of the building and the amount of furniture that goes over the lift. A flat-rate price would therefore not be serious – during the survey we check whether and where the lift can stand. A furniture lift is particularly worthwhile for narrow stairwells or bulky furniture such as wardrobes and sofas. At “Beste Umzug Unternehmen” the lift appears as a separate item in the fixed price after a survey.
We calculate the costs in advance in a free quote, so you know what to expect. For damage to your belongings we are liable under the German Commercial Code (HGB) (up to €620 per m³); additional insurance is available on request. Whether it is a private move in an old building or individual pieces of furniture from the attic – the furniture lift saves carrying time and protects the stairwell. Call us on 01625978461 and we will prepare an individual quote for you.

When we recommend a furniture lift
Floor, furniture, space
Whether a furniture lift makes sense depends on the floor, the stairwell, bulky furniture and whether there is enough space in front of the building. During the survey we check the balcony or window, access and possible obstacles such as trees or overhead lines. We state the price as a fixed price after a survey; liability is under the German Commercial Code (HGB). We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21) and carry out moves within the city and nationwide.

Planning
a furniture lift into the overall move
A furniture lift is usually part of a larger move, be it a private move within the city or a long-distance move. It is important to coordinate it with the no-parking zone and the moving day, because the lift and lorry need space in front of the building at the same time. With a long-distance move a lift may be needed at both addresses. We will advise you at which address it really pays off.

Frequently asked questions on the cost of a furniture lift
How a furniture lift job works
First, the furniture lift is set up in front of the building and aligned with the balcony or window. The furniture is then loaded securely onto the platform and moved up or down. The team keeps an eye on the façade, window frames and passers-by.
How long the job takes depends on the amount of furniture, the floor and the preparation. With the lift, most of the carrying through the stairwell is no longer needed; when it is worth it compared with hiring one yourself is explained in the article Hiring a furniture lift – when does it make sense?
When is a furniture lift worth it?
A furniture lift usually makes sense for moves from the third or fourth floor without a lift or for very bulky pieces such as large wardrobes. In narrow stairwells, too, the lift saves time and protects the building fabric.
On a long-distance move with a fixed schedule, the lift speeds up loading and unloading – often at both addresses.

Services that can be combined with the lift
These building blocks complement a furniture lift job.
The private move – with a lift to the upper floor.
The company move – for offices without a goods lift.
The furniture transport – even for a single sofa.
The part load – good value for single items.
The move with assembly – when furniture does not fit through the window.
The house clearance – emptying the loft.
Long-distance move with a lift at both addresses
On a long-distance move we plan the lift where it is needed – at the start, at the destination or at both addresses. We are based in Berlin and travel nationwide. Destinations with their own page can be found in the locations overview, more on the topic under long-distance moves.
