Planning a Part Load: Step by Step

Moving company Berlin
A well-planned shared load in six steps
The timeline
A shared load is ideal when only a few pieces of furniture or boxes need to be moved and a whole removal van is not worthwhile. Your belongings travel together with other consignments on a transport that is already planned, which saves money and resources. This solution is especially popular for long-distance moves and student moves. If you tackle the steps in the right order, you end up with a fixed time window and no deadline pressure.
The advantage is obvious: you only pay for the load space you actually need, not for an empty lorry. You still benefit from our professional service, with packing on request and liability under the German Commercial Code (HGB). Whether a suitable journey is planned at short notice depends on the route and our workload – planning early pays off. Call us on 01625978461 to request your individual shared load.

Plan your shared load in good time
Enquire early, secure a time window
Call us on 01625978461 as soon as your moving-out date is fixed. With your furniture list and both addresses, we check which journey fits and give you a fixed price and time window. The earlier you enquire, the more leeway remains for planning.
Quotes available individually based on workload, scheduling and the desired scope of services.

What we take on in the planning
Reliable, careful, transparent
We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21, Moabit) and plan every shared load in fixed steps: volume from your furniture list, matching with planned journeys, a quote with a fixed price and time window, on request the application for the parking restriction zone, then collection and delivery. We are liable for your belongings under the rules of the German Commercial Code (HGB). The quote states which steps you handle yourself and which we take on.

The timeline of a shared load
A shared load is best planned backwards from the moving-out date: once notice has been given, the furniture list and enquiry follow, then the quote with a time window and – if needed – the parking restriction. Tackling these steps early gives you more choice of journeys and less pressure in the final week.

Moving
service without compromise
Alongside the part load, we offer numerous further moving services that are perfectly coordinated with one another. For complete households, we recommend our home-move service, which covers everything from packing to assembly. Anyone moving over larger distances finds detailed information on our long-distance moves on the corresponding page. That way you can choose the right solution for your next move depending on scope and budget.

Questions about planning
Planning a part load: the process in detail
Step 1 – Set the date: As a tenant you usually give notice with a period of three months (§ 573c BGB). After that, planning the shared load begins. Step 2 – Inventory: List your furniture and boxes, large items with dimensions. Step 3 – Enquiry and quote: With the list, both addresses and your preferred period, we check which journey fits and give you a fixed price with a time window.
Step 4 – Access: If the lorry cannot stop directly in front of the building, a parking restriction zone is applied for. In Berlin, processing takes around four weeks; the signs must be in place at least 72 hours beforehand. Step 5 – Collection: On request we pack, then load, secure and label your belongings. Step 6 – Delivery: Before delivery we get in touch with the exact date, and you check with us that everything is complete. Registration at your new address is then due within two weeks.
Costs and advantages of a part load
The costs of a part load depend on the volume, distance and period, but mostly lie markedly below those of a single transport. Since several consignments are conveyed together, the travel costs are split among several customers. Thanks to our fixed-price model, you know exactly from the start which costs are coming your way, without hidden fees.
Alongside the cost saving, you profit from a more environmentally friendly solution, since fewer trips with half-empty trucks are necessary. In long-distance moves too, the part load is an attractive option, especially for students, commuters or smaller households. For larger moves, on the other hand, we recommend our classic home-move service.
Prices for your move – clearly calculated
Whether a small flat or a large house – we have a suitable offer for every move. A one-room flat starts at €349, a two-room flat at €584, a three-room flat at €889 and a four-room flat at €1,279. For houses and villas we always prepare an individual quote, as many factors play a role here. If you are planning a long-distance move, you pay from €4.15 per kilometre.
