A Part Load: What to Look Out For

Shared load: how to check the provider and the quote
Check before you commit
A shared load means your belongings are carried together with other consignments in a lorry that is already heading to your destination region. Several customers share the transport costs, which is considerably cheaper than an exclusive van, especially for long-distance moves. This method is ideal for smaller moving volumes, single pieces of furniture or when you do not depend on a fixed delivery date. This guide shows what matters when choosing a provider – from volume and fixed price to liability.
Above all, make sure the provider asks about or surveys your volume precisely, states the fixed price in writing and informs you about liability under the German Commercial Code (HGB). Blanket promises such as fixed percentage savings or "all-inclusive cover" without details, on the other hand, are not a good sign. We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21) and, on request, take care of the complete organisation, from packing to safe loading.

Request our quote to compare
In writing, with a fixed price and liability note
Call us on 01625978461 and request a quote for your shared load. You receive it in writing, with a fixed price, a time window and a note on how we are liable for your belongings – so you can compare it at your leisure.
Quotes available individually based on workload, scheduling and the desired scope of services.

Why Beste Umzug Unternehmen?
Quality at a fixed price
As "Beste Umzug Unternehmen", we are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21, Moabit) and make the points you should look out for our own rule: we ask precisely about the volume of your shared load or take a look at it, state the fixed price in writing and explain how far liability under the HGB goes. Whether a private move or a single transport – the time window and services are set out in the quote, not just mentioned on the phone.

Questions before booking
Process of a part load: step by step
The process of a shared load starts with a no-obligation enquiry in which you state the volume, collection and destination addresses and your preferred period. Our team then checks which route can be combined with your transport and prepares a transparent fixed-price quote. Since several customers use the same lorry, a shared load is usually somewhat more flexible in scheduling than an exclusive removal transport.
On the agreed collection day, our staff pack and load your belongings properly and secure them for transport. Depending on the route, there may be an intermediate stop where further goods are loaded. At the destination, we deliver within the time window stated in the quote. With any provider, make sure this window is recorded in writing and not just mentioned on the phone.
Costs, advantages and typical situations of use
The cost of a shared load depends on volume, distance and route, but is usually well below that of a dedicated transport. Because the travel costs are spread across several customers, you usually pay much less than for a standard private move with a dedicated vehicle. This solution is particularly attractive for long-distance moves, student moves, single pieces of furniture or if you are flexible on the delivery date.
Typical situations for a shared load are moving to another city with a small moving volume, delivering furniture bought online or transporting heirlooms over long distances. Be careful with offers that promise fixed percentage savings without knowing your volume. When booking, allow enough lead time, as shared loads depend on the availability of suitable tours.
