Shared load: frequently asked questions

Moving company Berlin
Shared load: the essentials first
Questions and answers
With a shared load you share the loading area of a removal van with other customers travelling a similar route. This saves real money, because you only pay for the space you actually use in the vehicle. For long-distance moves or smaller moving volumes in particular, this solution is economically very attractive. We are liable for your belongings under the same statutory rules as with a classic move.
We plan the trips so that several jobs on shared routes are combined; for this we agree a time window with you. This keeps the process transparent, and the fixed price is settled before booking. For students, commuters or smaller households in particular, a shared load is a real alternative to a private move. Pages on individual places can be found under Locations.

In short: how we work
The answers in brief
The most important answers in brief: with a shared load you share the trip with other jobs and only pay for your share of the cargo space. You know the fixed price before booking, we are liable for your belongings under the German Commercial Code, and instead of a fixed date we agree a time window. Long-distance moves can also be organised this way – we plan them from Berlin (Stromstraße 21).

A shared load in one sentence
A shared load means your belongings travel on a vehicle that is heading your way anyway, and you only pay for the space they take up. What this means in concrete terms for price, date and liability is answered in the twelve questions below.

From
planning to assembly
Besides the shared load, we offer numerous other moving services tailored individually to your needs. These include classic private moves, office moves and moves to the places you will find in the Locations overview. If you are planning a longer route, our long-distance moves offer suitable ways of combining with a shared load. This way the most cost-efficient solution can be found for every moving situation.

Shared load: 12 questions and answers
This is how a part load works
First we record your moving volume and compare it with existing tours heading to your destination region. If your shared load fits a planned route, we confirm a specific collection and delivery date and the fixed price.
On the day of collection our staff load your furniture properly and secure it for the shared transport. After arrival at the destination, delivery usually takes place within a few days, depending on tour planning.
Costs and advantages of a shared load
The biggest advantage of a shared load is the considerable cost saving compared with a dedicated transport, as several customers share the vehicle capacity. This option is particularly worthwhile for smaller households or single pieces of furniture, without you having to give up professional packing and insurance.
Prices are usually based on volume in cubic metres and distance, and we always communicate a transparent fixed price in advance. This way you keep full control of costs and avoid hidden extra charges.
