Organising a Student Move: Moving Stress-free

Student moves
Student move between exams, shifts and the start of a tenancy
How to keep it relaxed
Stress during a student move rarely comes from the boxes, but from the schedule: the tenancy starting in the middle of exam period, shifts at your part-time job, flatmates who can only help at the weekend. If you organise the move like a small project, you keep track: write tasks down, share them out and link them to fixed days. Whether into your first flatshare room, into student halls, to a new university town or back to your parents – the questions are similar: who packs, who drives, who deals with the authorities?
What takes the most weight off is handing over the physical work and putting the formalities yourself on quiet days. Registration has two weeks, electricity and internet can be transferred in advance, and mail forwarding catches your post for a maximum of six months. On request we take care of carrying, transport and furniture assembly in one day. If your new university town is in another city, you will find routes from Berlin under long-distance moves.

Hand over one task: the carrying
A fixed price instead of hourly billing
Send photos or call 01625978461: after the inventory check you get a fixed price for your student move instead of an hourly bill. That way you know in advance what the day will cost and can plan your student budget.
Quotes available individually based on workload, scheduling and the desired scope of services.

What we take off your hands on moving day
So that you have time for uni
We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21) and, in a student move, take over the part that costs the most time and energy: carrying, loading, transport and, on request, dismantling and reassembling the furniture. We give you the price as a fixed price after the inventory check, whether it is a short route within Berlin or a move to another city. For your belongings we are liable under § 451e HGB at €620 per cubic metre. Call 01625978461 and we will clarify the date and scope.
Hand over the packing
One day instead of three
Assembly included
Parking restriction organised
Six rules for a calm move
Organisation in a student move means above all: share out tasks early and put them on days when there is no exam. These six rules help, without you needing a spreadsheet with a hundred rows.
Write tasks down
Share out responsibility
Avoid exam season
Read the house rules
Transfer contracts
Put the authorities on quiet days
Less organisation with a shared load
If you are moving to another city with few belongings, a shared load saves you organising a van of your own and a driver. Your furniture travels with other consignments; you just plan a few days of flexibility for the delivery date.

Plan
the move like a project
A student move usually involves little furniture but lots of boxes of books and odds and ends – and a schedule driven by the semester and the tenancy agreement. Many principles of the private move still apply: enquire early, sort things out, do not forget the formalities. How to redirect your post to the new address and what has applied since 2025 is explained in the article setting up mail forwarding.

Questions about organisation
Typical situations and how to organise them
Many students move several times – from their parents' home into student halls, later into a flatshare and finally into their own flat. Each stage has its own hurdles: in halls the house rules set moving-in times, in a flatshare it must be clear which furniture belongs to whom, and old buildings often have no lift.
If you change city for your studies, distance and delivery date come into play. We drive from Berlin; destinations with their own page are listed in the locations overview. For short-notice moves, it helps to have photos of your furniture ready – then the quote is done quickly.
This is how your student move proceeds
After your enquiry we prepare a fixed-price quote tailored to the moving volume and route. On moving day we take care of packing on request, as well as transport and dismantling and reassembling the furniture.
On request we also apply for and set up a parking restriction zone. You plan the final cleaning and key handover yourself, ideally with a buffer after moving day. That leaves time for uni, exams and your new home.
