Organising a Furniture Transport: Moving Stress-free

Organising a furniture transport
Organising a furniture transport: who prepares and handles what
Tasks clearly divided
Stress during a furniture transport rarely arises from the carrying, but beforehand: a wardrobe does not fit through the door, the lift has not been reserved, the lorry cannot find a space outside the building. If you decide early on who does what, you avoid this. At "Beste Umzug Unternehmen" we clarify these tasks with you during the survey and record them in the quote – from dismantling to setting up at the new place.
With bulky items such as wardrobes, sofas or pianos, measurements, carrying routes and padding are what count. We work with blankets, film, tension straps and carrying aids and check in advance whether a furniture lift is needed. This suits a classic private move just as well as single pieces of furniture; places with their own pages can be found in the locations overview. You receive the price as a fixed price after a survey.

What our team takes care of on moving day
Dismantling, protection, carrying, assembly
On moving day our team does the physical work: dismantling furniture, padding it, carrying it through the stairwell or by furniture lift, securing it in the lorry and reassembling it at the new place. What is included is set out beforehand in the fixed price. We are liable for your belongings under the HGB, limited to €620 per cubic metre; for valuable items, additional insurance is available on request. Moving
service without compromise
Around the furniture transport there are other tasks you should assign early: parking restriction, packing, disposal of old furniture and the final cleaning of the old flat. If you are moving to another city, also plan in driving time and an overnight stay; more on this under long-distance move. A parking restriction zone in Berlin is best applied for about four weeks in advance.

Frequently asked questions about organisation
What you take care of yourself before the furniture transport
Four tasks usually remain with you: noting the measurements of large furniture and narrow doors, emptying wardrobes and drawers, reserving the lift with the property management and informing the neighbours. If the lorry is to stand outside the building, Berlin requires a parking restriction zone (Halteverbotszone); according to the service portal, processing takes about four weeks, and the signs must be in place at least three full days beforehand. Whether you apply for it yourself or we do is set out in the quote.
On the day itself we need a contact person who knows what is coming along and where it goes. A simple plan of the new flat, with room names on furniture and boxes, saves many questions.
What the team takes care of
Our team takes on the work that needs strength, tools and practice: dismantling furniture, padding it, carrying it via the stairs or furniture lift, securing it in the lorry and assembling it at the destination. Which of these is booked is set out in the fixed price after the survey; extras such as kitchen assembly or packing small items are separate items.
We are liable for your belongings under the HGB, limited to €620 per cubic metre. Report visible damage no later than the day after delivery, and hidden damage within 14 days. You transport jewellery, cash and documents yourself.
Moving costs explained in brief
In short: a 1-room flat costs from €349, a 2-room flat from €609, a 3-room flat from €894 and a 4-room flat from €1,344. For a house or villa we prepare an individual quote, and for long-distance moves we charge from €4.10/km. The quickest way to your price is a free survey.
What influences the moving price?
The price of your move is made up of several factors: the volume of your household, the distance between the old and new flat (from €4.10/km) and the floor and whether there is a lift. A required parking restriction zone is also reflected in the costs. Additional services such as furniture assembly or a shared load can also change the price.
