Planning Furniture Transport: Step by Step

Step by step
Planning a furniture transport: your schedule
From the list to assembly
A furniture transport begins weeks before moving day – with a list. Which furniture is coming along, which will be sold or disposed of, which will not fit into the new flat? Only then can volume, vehicle and team be planned. This page takes you through the steps in the right order, from the measurements to assembly at the new place.
Particularly bulky or delicate furniture needs its own step in the plan: on request we dismantle wardrobes, beds and shelves and reassemble them at the destination, and we check in advance whether a furniture lift is needed. We also answer questions about your private move by phone on 01625978461. After the survey you receive a fixed price that reflects the plan.

Fixed price after a survey for your furniture transport
Based on your furniture list
With your furniture list and a survey, we draw up a fixed price for your furniture transport. It lists dismantling, transport, assembly and booked extras separately. If the scope does not change, the price does not change either. Request your quote early – then there is time for the parking restriction and scheduling.
Quotes available individually based on workload, scheduling and the desired scope of services.

What we contribute at each step
Survey, quote, moving day
We support the furniture transport at three points: at the survey, where we record measurements, access routes and special items; in the quote with a fixed price; and on moving day with dismantling, padding, carrying and assembly. We are liable for your belongings under the HGB, limited to €620 per cubic metre. Whether a private move in Berlin or a long-distance move – the process is the same.

How we support you
Each step builds on the previous one: no furniture list, no accurate quote; no quote, no fixed date; no date, no parking restriction.
If you keep to the order, there is little left to decide on moving day.

Your
move – fully organised
In every move, the furniture transport is the part that needs the most planning: dismantling, packing, transport and assembly have to fit together in time. On long routes, driving time and an overnight stay come on top. Which documents and deadlines apply to the parking restriction is explained in our guide to the parking restriction zone. Here we show you the order in which to plan the rest.

Frequently asked questions about planning
Steps 1 to 3: preparing the furniture list, quote and parking restriction
It starts with a furniture list: what is coming along, what will be sold, donated or disposed of? Measure large items and compare the measurements with the doors, stairs and lift in the new flat. With this list, our team can realistically assess the effort at the survey; you then receive a quote with a fixed price.
Once the date is set, the parking restriction follows: in Berlin processing takes about four weeks, and the signs must be in place at least three full days before the move. Register sorted-out furniture for bulky waste collection in good time.
Steps 4 and 5: the last week and moving day
In the last week you empty wardrobes and drawers and pack boxes, labelled with room and contents. On moving day our team takes care of dismantling, pads the furniture, carries it via the stairs or furniture lift and secures it in the lorry. At the destination we set everything up according to your plan and reassemble it – for a private move as for a long-distance move.
Finally, you walk through the rooms with us. Note visible damage straight away and report it no later than the following day.

After a free survey we will gladly prepare a tailored quote for you.
What goes into the moving price?
The calculation takes into account the volume, the distance (from €3.80/km), the floor and whether there is a lift. A parking restriction zone is also taken into account. We also offer a shared load.
