What does a furniture transport cost?

Furniture transport
Furniture transport: priced by item, carrying distance and route
Understanding costs
A furniture transport takes more than a large van and strong arms. Our team wraps your furniture, protects delicate surfaces and plans the route through the stairwell and door. With carrying straps, dollies and blankets we protect your property from scratches and knocks. How much of this is needed depends on the size and weight of the items – and that is exactly what ultimately determines the price as well.
At Beste Umzug Unternehmen you receive a fixed price after the survey, in which every service is listed separately. Whether single pieces of furniture, the furnishings of an entire flat or delicate antiques – we plan staff and vehicle to match the job. For damage we are liable under the German Commercial Code (HGB); additional insurance for valuable items is available. Call us on 01625978461 and receive an individual quote.

What you can rely on with a furniture transport
Padded, secured, put in place
With a furniture transport we rely on care rather than haste. Our staff know how to carry valuable and bulky items – from a piano to a designer sofa. For damage we are liable under the German Commercial Code (HGB) (§ 451e: €620 per m³); additional insurance for valuable items is available on request. We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21) and travel nationwide; destinations with their own page can be found under Locations.

Single
item or a complete move?
A furniture transport is often part of a larger project, be it a private move within the city or a long-distance move to another region. Sometimes, though, it is just about one item: the sofa from the classifieds, your grandparents' wardrobe or furniture after a renovation. Depending on the amount and route, a separate transport, a part load or a combination with a move is then the cheapest option. We will advise you on which option suits your furniture.

Frequently asked questions on the cost of a furniture transport
How a professional furniture transport works
The furniture transport starts with a free survey or your details about the furniture, in which we record the scope and any special features. We then prepare a fixed-price quote that lists all services separately – from packing to assembly.
On the agreed day our team takes care of dismantling and reassembly, securing the furniture in the van and the transport to the destination. After arrival we set up the furniture as you wish and take the packing material away again. What you should clarify beforehand is set out in the furniture transport checklist.
Typical situations for a furniture transport
A furniture transport is needed in many situations: when changing flats, after buying new furniture, during a renovation or when moving into a student room. It is also used when a household is dissolved after a death or when buying single pieces of furniture through classified ads.
Bulky or heavy items such as pianos, wardrobes or sofas require tools and the right carrying technique. We clarify narrow stairwells, slim door frames and high floors beforehand, so that no piece of furniture gets stuck in the hallway on the day of the transport.
Starting prices for complete flat moves
Every move is different, but rough guide values help with planning: for a 1-room flat costs start at €354, for 2 rooms at €589. If you live in 3 rooms, you pay from €909; for 4 rooms the price starts at €1,324. Larger properties such as houses and villas always receive an individual quote. For longer distances: long-distance moves from €4.25/km. The most accurate figure comes with a free survey.
