How we pack the balcony and garden

From the deckchair to the garden shed

Outdoor furniture is often bulky, heavy or delicate. We dismantle tables and loungers where possible, wrap lacquered and wooden surfaces in blankets and secure heavy tubs with straps in the vehicle. Parasols are closed and padded, and bases emptied beforehand. We raise gas bottles and charcoal during the survey, so that it is clear what travels in the removal van and what you transport yourself. We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21), work at a fixed price after a survey and handle both private moves and long-distance moves nationwide.

Packing service

With a packing service we pack cushions, fairy lights and decorations from the balcony in labelled boxes – separately from the household goods from the flat.

A terrace at the office

Companies have roof terraces and planters too. For an office move we include outdoor furniture and large plants in the plan so that nothing is left behind.

Six points for the balcony and garden

The outdoor area has its own rules during a move. With these six points, everything that stands outside in summer is prepared in good time – from a small city balcony with two chairs to a large garden with a garden shed, terrace and tool shed.

Clean the barbecue

Clean the grate and firebox, let ash and charcoal cool down completely and dispose of them. A clean barbecue does not dirty other furniture in the vehicle.

Secure the gas bottle

Close the valve, unscrew the pressure regulator, transport the bottle upright and secured against tipping over – and never leave it in a hot car in the sun.

Empty the tubs

Wet soil is very heavy. Empty large tubs that are moving without a plant, and water the others only sparingly a few days beforehand – this saves a lot of weight.

Dry the cushions

Only pack seat pads and cushions when they are dry. Damp cushions in a warm box or cargo space quickly start to smell musty or go mouldy.

Empty the parasol base

Empty parasol bases filled with water or sand beforehand. Close the parasols, secure them and wrap them in a cover or blanket.

Dismantle garden furniture

Tables, loungers and gazebos are much easier to load when dismantled. Put screws in labelled bags and tape them to the piece of furniture.

What needs doing outside

In summer, as well as the usual furniture transport, garden furniture, barbecue accessories or a paddling pool are on the moving plan. Check in advance whether the new flat has a balcony or garden of a suitable size – otherwise it is worth selling or giving things away before the move. An empty balcony is also part of the flat handover: plant remains, potting soil and brackets should be removed. What does a move cost? Our price overview

Moving costs depend heavily on the size of the flat and the distance. As a rough guide: a 1-room move starts from €375, while a 2-room move is calculated from €599. For a 3-room flat the costs are from €889, and for a 4-room flat from €1,269. Houses and villas are calculated individually, as the effort varies greatly – you receive an individual quote. For long-distance moves we charge from €3.85 per kilometre. It is best to have an exact quote prepared as part of a free survey.

What the price including the balcony depends on

Important criteria are the moving volume, the distance (from €3.85/km) and the floor, with or without a lift. A reserved parking restriction zone (Halteverbotszone) ensures a smooth process. If required, we add furniture assembly or a part load to the move.
