The city's history begins in the Staromieście district; today's centre with the Rynek is ideal for anyone who values short distances to cafés, public offices and culture. Rzeszów lies in the Wisłok river plain on the edge of the Carpathians and is easy to reach via the A4 and S19. Near the old town the streets are narrow; whether the removal van needs a road-space permit is something to clarify with the municipal roads authority.
Residential neighbourhoods include Nowe Miasto by the Zbiornik Rzeszowski reservoir, Baranówka, Załęże and Słocina with their parks, and Zalesie with Park Papieski. Which location suits you depends mainly on your workplace: many aviation companies are based in the surrounding area, for example around Jasionka airport. Rzeszów is the hub of Aviation Valley (Dolina Lotnicza): according to Wikipedia, the aviation cluster around the city generates 90% of the production volume of the Polish aviation industry, and one well-known name is Pratt & Whitney Rzeszów. Rzeszów-Jasionka airport, modernised in 2012, is not far from the city, and railway lines run to Kraków and Przemyśl. Ukraine is around 90 km away and Slovakia around 100 km. From Berlin to Rzeszów: route, e-TOLL and vehicle papers
A move to Rzeszów (often written “Rzeszow” in German texts) takes you from Berlin to another EU country. We calculate the route from our depot in Berlin-Moabit; pure lorry driving time is around ten hours, but the exact duration depends on the route, traffic and breaks; we state it in the quote for your date. For long-distance moves, always plan buffer time for the loading and unloading days.
The electronic toll system e-TOLL applies to lorries in Poland. According to etoll.gov.pl, it is aimed at users of heavy goods vehicles and applies on toll roads operated by the roads authority GDDKiA. The official site describes these steps: choose a location device, create an online customer account, register users and vehicles, choose a payment method, pay for the journey and set off. There is also the free e-TOLL PL app. According to the site, the road network and tariffs change, so check them before the journey.
If you are bringing your own car, bear in mind: when moving permanently, the EU portal recommends registering the vehicle in the new country and paying vehicle taxes there. The EU has no uniform rules; each country sets its own deadlines and conditions. As an example, the portal cites France, with one month after transferring your main residence.

Registering in Rzeszów: registration requirement, PESEL and road-space permits
According to gov.pl, anyone living in Poland has a registration requirement. For a stay of more than three months, you register at the municipal office (“urząd gminy”), which in Rzeszów means the city administration. According to gov.pl, the deadline is no later than the 30th day after moving in. Registration is free of charge. In person you need the registration form, ID card or passport and proof of your right to the flat, such as a tenancy agreement or land register extract. Stricter requirements apply online: according to gov.pl, since 1 January 2026 online registration only runs via e-Doręczenia, and without an official only if you are the owner and are entered in the land register.
According to gov.pl, foreigners receive the PESEL number automatically from the authority if they register for more than 30 days. Anyone who cannot register but needs a PESEL applies at any municipal office; the application is free of charge.
On road space: according to its job advertisement in the BIP (Public Information Bulletin), the Miejski Zarząd Dróg w Rzeszowie (municipal roads authority) has a department for the protection of the road space (“Dział Ochrony Pasa Drogowego”). Among other things, it processes permits for the use of the road space. Clarify with them before the move whether your removal van needs a permit.
