Moving to Mladá Boleslav: Škoda, castle and the Jizera
Guide
Mladá Boleslav (Jungbunzlau) is more than the home of Škoda Auto: the town of around 45,000 inhabitants lies on the left bank of the Jizera, at the mouth of the Klenice, and has grown together with the smaller Kosmonosy. Prague is easy to reach via the D10 motorway. By population, Mladá Boleslav is the second-largest town in Central Bohemia after Kladno. We plan your move to Mladá Boleslav from Berlin, with a fixed price after a survey.
Whether it is a flat in one of the central districts or a house in Debř or Čejetičky: we clarify parking zones, floor and access in advance. We come from Berlin (Stromstraße 21) and drive around 374 km via Zittau and Liberec. Within the EU there are no customs formalities for household goods. With our private move service we take care of packing, transport and assembly; long routes are covered under Long-distance moves.

Move to Mladá Boleslav: survey first, then a fixed price
Volume, floor, route – all in the price
We do not calculate the price of your move to Mladá Boleslav by the hour, but by volume, floor, carrying distances and the route of around 374 km. After a survey you receive a written fixed price – for a flat in Mladá Boleslav I just as for a house in Debř.
Offers available individually, depending on effort, scheduling and the scope of services required.

How your move to Mladá Boleslav works with us
Survey, fixed price, fixed date
We have no branch in Mladá Boleslav; we come by lorry from Berlin-Moabit (Stromstraße 21). That is why we ask about access, floor and staircase in advance – whether it is a flat in Mladá Boleslav I or a house in Debř. The municipal parking regulation does not provide for a reserved space for the removal lorry; whether and how a parking space in front of the building is possible, we clarify early on with you and the town administration. We quote the fixed price after the survey; for your belongings we are liable under § 451e HGB with €620 per cubic metre, and additional insurance is possible. Places with their own pages can be found under Locations.

Frequently asked questions about moving to Mladá Boleslav
The 13 districts of Mladá Boleslav
Mladá Boleslav is divided into 13 districts: the central parts Mladá Boleslav I to IV as well as Bezděčín, Čejetice, Čejetičky, Debř, Chrást, Jemníky, Michalovice, Podchlumí and Podlázky. The old town lies on the bank of the Jizera below the castle, which today houses the regional museum; in Michalovice a 13th-century castle ruin stands above the Jizera.
At just under 29 km², the town's area is manageable. For the move, the specific address counts: in the more densely built-up city centre, parking spaces are scarce and the parking zones are strictly regulated; in the outer districts, it is more about access and carrying distances.
Škoda, university and Prague: who moves to Mladá Boleslav
Škoda Auto is based in Mladá Boleslav with its largest plant; in 2020 the company employed around 29,000 people in the Czech Republic, most of them here. Its roots go back to 1895, when Laurin & Klement was founded as a bicycle manufacturer. The private university Škoda Auto Vysoká škola and the Škoda Muzeum are also part of the town. We do not quote specific rents – they depend heavily on location and condition.
The main station is on the Prague–Turnov line, and the D10 connects the town with Prague. As an EU citizen you do not need a residence document in the first three months; after that you can apply for a registration certificate free of charge. Plan moving day with a buffer before your first working day.
What a move really costs
Many customers wonder what a move costs. As a basic rule: the larger the flat, the greater the effort. For a 1-room flat we charge from €359, for 2 rooms from €589, for 3 rooms from €899 and for 4 rooms from €1,329. If you own a house or villa, we prepare an individual quote. For a long-distance move we calculate from €3.80/km. Arrange a free survey right away.
Calculating the moving price: the key criteria
- Moving volume in cubic metres
- Number of kilometres from €3.80/km
- Floor and lift situation

Moving to Mladá Boleslav: parking zones, access and resident parking
Anyone driving a removal van to Mladá Boleslav should know in advance how the town regulates parking on public roads. On 18 March 2024 the town council adopted a pricing regulation for managed parking areas, which is published in the Collection of Legal Regulations. It distinguishes between areas A, B and C and several tariffs.
- Short-term parking: the first 15 minutes without registration are free. In tariff C1, 30 minutes cost CZK 10, the first hour CZK 20 and each additional hour CZK 30; in tariff C2, CZK 40 per hour is charged.
- Long-term parking (tariff C3): CZK 20 for the first two hours, CZK 50 for one operating period.
- Resident's permit: in tariff C4 it costs CZK 1,000 per year for the first vehicle and CZK 2,000 for the second; in tariff C5 the first vehicle is free and the second costs CZK 1,000 per year.
- Visitors: the visitor's permit costs CZK 200 per day and is only issued electronically (EPO).
Which tariff applies in which street is set out in the regulation on the areas to which it refers. The pricing regulation does not provide for a reserved space for a removal lorry. So clarify early on with the town administration whether and how a parking space in front of the building is possible, especially in the more densely built-up city centre. How a parking restriction works in Germany is explained in our guide to the parking restriction zone.
Mladá Boleslav: registration, vignette and toll when moving from Germany
After moving into Mladá Boleslav, a few official questions arise. According to the EU portal Your Europe (last checked on 1 July 2026), EU citizens cannot be required to hold a residence document in the first three months; after that, registration can be required. Anyone who does not register can be fined, but cannot be expelled for this reason alone.
The Czech government portal describes the registration certificate for EU citizens:
- It applies to stays of more than three months and is not a precondition for residence.
- The competent office is the Ministry of the Interior's Department for Asylum and Migration Policy for your residential district.
- The certificate is free of charge and valid for ten years.
- Requirements include a travel document or ID card, a photo and proof of accommodation; documents should be no more than 180 days old.
For the journey: according to the official vignette website eDalnice, four-wheeled vehicles up to 3.5 t need an electronic vignette, which you buy there. For vehicles over 3.5 t, a 2019 notice from the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentions an electronic distance-based toll with an on-board unit; check the current situation before travelling. Planning the route from Berlin is covered in the long-distance moving guide for Mladá Boleslav, and a checklist in the article on moving to the Czech Republic.
