Two days to the Dyle
A move to Wavre takes you around 769 km from Berlin via the A2, Cologne and Aachen into Belgium and on via Liège and Namur to the E411. There are no customs formalities for household goods within the EU; what needs planning are the lorry's driving times, the Belgian kilometre charge for heavy vehicles and your appointment with the town's Service Population. Your household goods are covered by liability under the German Commercial Code (HGB, § 451e: €620 per m³); additional insurance is available on request. How we prepare the journey to Wavre
Route, charges, destination
For a long-distance move to Belgium, route planning is what counts: we choose the route via Liège and Namur, which does not pass through the Brussels low-emission zone, factor in the Viapass charge for lorries over 3.5 t and arrange the stopping space in Wavre with the "Espace public" department. Your goods are covered by liability under the HGB, and we give you the fixed price after the survey. Call us on 01625978461 or see further destinations under Locations.

Only a few pieces of furniture for Wavre? Part load!

Questions about a long-distance move to Wavre
No customs, but registration steps: paperwork for Wavre
As Belgium is a member of the European Union, there is no customs declaration for private household goods when moving from Germany. A detailed inventory list still makes sense, for example for insurance and in case of checks. For pets, a microchip, rabies vaccination and EU pet passport are required.
In Wavre, EU citizens staying longer than 90 days must make an appointment with the Service Étrangers; according to the town, you need to bring four recent passport photos and your identity card, among other things. The Service Population only accepts changes of address after you have moved in; the legal deadline is eight working days. The DIV vehicle registration office is responsible for your car.
Schedule for the 769 km to Wavre
The route runs around 769 km via the A2 into the Ruhr area, via the A1 and A4 to Aachen, after the border via the E40 to Liège, the E42 towards Namur and the E411 to Wavre. According to route planners, a car needs a good seven and a half hours; under EU law a removal lorry has to take breaks and usually drives no more than nine hours a day. We therefore plan two days with an overnight stop. This route does not pass through the Brussels low-emission zone.
In Berlin you apply for the parking restriction (Halteverbot) about four weeks in advance; the signs must be in place at least three full days before the move. Wavre has no dedicated page on stopping spaces – we ask the town's "Espace public" department. French is the language of the administration.
Price range for the move from Berlin
Whether you are moving into a small one-room flat or a large four-room flat – we have the right offer for every need. Our prices start at €369 for 1 room, followed by €599 for 2 rooms, €879 for 3 rooms and €1,299 for 4 rooms. For houses or villas you receive an individually calculated quote. If you are moving to another city, we charge from €4.20 per kilometre. The best way to find out more is during a free survey.
What determines the price to Wavre
How much your move costs depends primarily on the volume of your household goods and the distance to be covered, which is charged from €4.20/km. The floor and whether a lift can be used also play a role. If you need a parking restriction zone, this is also a factor. Furniture assembly and a part load can be booked as options.

Route Berlin – Wavre: Brussels low-emission zone, Viapass and driving times
Wavre is in Walloon Brabant. Depending on the route, the journey touches the Greater Brussels area. The LEZ low-emission zone applies there: according to lez.brussels it covers the entire Brussels-Capital Region (19 municipalities), around the clock, and also applies to vehicles registered abroad. The motorway ring is exempt. Diesel vehicles need at least Euro 6; a day pass costs 35 euros (a maximum of 24 passes per vehicle per year). The fine is 350 euros. We clarify during route planning whether your route touches the zone.
For lorries over 3.5 tonnes, Belgium levies a distance-based charge; the organisation Viapass states that it applies to roads in Flanders, in the Brussels Region and to the roads in Wallonia managed by SOFICO.
The drivers observe the EU driving and rest times under Regulation (EC) No 561/2006: nine hours a day, ten twice a week, and a 45-minute break after four and a half hours. According to the ServicePortal, in Berlin you deregister no earlier than seven days before and no later than 14 days after moving out. You apply for the parking restriction at the road traffic office (Straßenverkehrsamt) of your district – according to the ServicePortal from 21 euros and on average about four weeks.
