Commercial Move: Process Costs & Tips

Moving company Berlin
Commercial moves: relocating a shop, practice or workshop
Process, costs and tips
A commercial move differs from an office move above all because of customers: a shop, practice or workshop depends on customers finding the door open. That is why the process starts with the date – usually one or two closing days, which you announce early on the door, on your website and in your business profile. Next comes the survey: counters, shelves, refrigerated units, treatment chairs or machines are recorded, as are access and the loading zone. On moving day we dismantle, transport and reassemble according to your plan; high-voltage or water connections are handled by your electrician or plumber.
The cost depends on volume, the weight of individual items of equipment, storeys, distance and extra services; after the survey you receive a fixed price. We are liable for removal goods under the German Commercial Code up to €620 per cubic metre (§ 451e HGB). With the relocation you re-register the business: in Berlin with the public order office (Ordnungsamt) of the district where the new site is located – €20, or €15 online (§ 14 GewO). Our Office move page describes how moving day works; for other cities we plan long-distance moves.

Request a commercial move: survey and fixed price
To fit your closing days
Call us on 01625978461 or request a quote online. Tell us the days on which your business can stay closed. During the survey we record fittings, equipment and access, and then give you a fixed price for the commercial move.
Quotes available individually based on workload, scheduling and the desired scope of services.

What we take on in a commercial move
And what stays with you
We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21) and, for a commercial move, handle the survey, fixed price, dismantling, transport and reassembly of shop fittings, practice furniture or workbenches – and on request the parking restriction zone too. Re-registration with the public order office, informing customers and connections by specialist firms remain with you. During the survey we tell you by when each point should be done.

How we support you
So that your customers notice the commercial move as little as possible, these six tips help – from the closing day to the first week at the new location.
Reliable moving service
Safe handling
Clear communication
Structured move planning
Flexible support
Don't forget to re-register
Small shop? Consider a shared load
If only a small storeroom, part of the stock or the fittings of a kiosk are moving, a shared load can be cheaper than a lorry of your own. A time window applies instead of a fixed day – this must fit in with your closing days.

Your
move – fully organised
Alongside the classic commercial move, we also support you with private changes of home as part of our home move. Frequently, business customers combine their change of site with interim storage or the disposal of old furniture. Special requirements too, such as the move of practices, law firms or workshops, belong to our range of services. That way you receive all moving services conveniently from a single source.

Questions about commercial moves
Process of a commercial move
A structured commercial move begins with a free on-site viewing, in which we capture the scope, particularities and time frame. Afterwards we draw up a detailed moving plan with clear responsibilities, so operations are affected as little as possible. On moving day, our specialists take over disassembly, packing, transport and reassembly according to a fixed schedule.
Especially important is the close coordination with your IT department, so servers and network technology move without data loss. After the transport, the professional set-up takes place at the new site including the connection of the technical devices. On request we also take over the disposal of old furniture as well as the final cleaning of the old premises.
Costs and saving potential
The costs of a commercial move depend on factors such as square metreage, floor, distance and special services. Thanks to our transparent fixed-price model, you know exactly before the start of the move which costs are coming your way. That way you avoid unwelcome surprises and can plan your budget precisely.
Saving potential often arises through early planning, the use of reusable moving boxes as well as good pre-sorting of items no longer needed. For larger distances, a look at our services for long-distance moves, which are specially tailored to supra-regional company moves, is also worthwhile.
What a move costs – price overview
The question of cost is usually the first one customers ask. In short: 1 room from €344, 2 rooms from €599, 3 rooms from €894 and 4 rooms from €1,299. Larger properties such as houses or villas can hardly be priced at a flat rate, which is why we always prepare an individual quote for them. If you are moving further away, you pay from €3.85 per kilometre for long-distance moves. However, you always get the most accurate estimate after a free survey.
