Your First Moving Day: Schedule Helpers and Parking Restriction for First-Time Tenants

Planning moving day
One day, one plan: your first move
Calm and orderly
On moving day you find out whether the planning holds up. At Beste Umzug Unternehmen it is settled beforehand when the team arrives, what is carried and what is assembled – and what it costs: we give you the fixed price after the survey. On the day itself, first-time tenants then only have a few decisions left: where each box goes and who takes over the keys. You can find all our services under Private move services.
In older buildings with narrow stairwells and doors, the order is what counts: large furniture goes into the van first, then boxes, and last of all the box for the first night. Our movers protect door frames and floors and reassemble your bed and wardrobe in the new flat. We are liable for transport damage under the HGB; additional insurance is available for valuable items. This keeps the day manageable for you.

Date fixed, day planned
Fixed price after the survey
Call us on 01625978461 and arrange a survey. We then give you a fixed price and agree together when the team arrives and what happens on moving day. Whether in Berlin or as a long-distance move – the schedule is fixed in advance.
Offers available individually, depending on effort, scheduling and the scope of services required.

How the day goes with us
Clear roles, a buffer
On your first moving day there are many open questions, from parking to the key handover. We clarify them beforehand: during the survey we see the stairwell, lift and furniture and then give you a fixed price. On the day itself the team arrives with blankets, straps and tools. Your goods are covered by liability under the HGB, and additional insurance is available on request. We are based in Berlin, Stromstraße 21, and drive from there to your address – including to other cities.

The day in six steps
This is how a typical first moving day goes. The times depend on the route and your belongings – but the order of the steps stays the same and helps against a rush, especially on your first move.

Moving
day step by step
This part of our series for first-time tenants is about the day itself: when the team arrives, in what order things are loaded, what needs doing in the old and new flat and how friends can usefully help. You will find an hour-by-hour template in the article Moving day hour by hour. Our private move experts will advise you in advance.

Frequently asked questions about your first moving day
Checklist for your first moving day
A structured schedule is especially important for first-time tenants so as not to lose track on moving day. Note the meter readings, check the condition of the new flat and keep the handover report to hand. A parking restriction zone in front of the door is also part of it: in Berlin the district office approves it, and the signs must be up 72 hours beforehand – more in the article Applying for a parking restriction zone.
Also allow enough time to clean the old flat before the key handover is due. With a clear checklist, you keep track of all the important tasks at all times, even on your first private move.
Helpers, tools, food and drink: what to have ready on the day
Many first-time tenants underestimate what needs to be to hand on moving day itself. This includes a cordless screwdriver and tools for assembling furniture, light bulbs, bin bags, tape, and drinks and something to eat for all the helpers. Put your ID, keys and tenancy agreement in a separate bag that does not go into the van.
Friends helping out need clear tasks and a fixed time: who carries boxes, who stays in the old flat, who receives things in the new flat? This keeps your first private move manageable for everyone.
What your first moving day costs
Whether a small flat or a large house – with us you pay fairly and transparently. Moving a 1-room flat starts from €359, and a 2-room flat costs from €589. For 3 rooms we charge from €879, for 4 rooms from €1,344. A house or villa always receives an individual quote, as many factors play a role here. For long-distance moves a price per kilometre from €4.15/km applies. Take advantage of a free survey to get clarity about your costs before moving day.
Stairwell, lift, distance: what shapes the price
Alongside the volume of your goods, the distance to be covered plays a central role, which we charge from €4.15/km. If there is no lift or the flat is on a high floor, the effort increases. A parking restriction zone that has been set up also ensures things run smoothly, as do our furniture assembly and part load services.
