Organising a Practice Move: Moving Stress-free

Practice relocation
Organising a practice move: stages, roles and a plan for closure days
Move stress-free
Stress during a practice move rarely comes from moving day itself, but from unclear responsibilities: nobody knows who books the equipment manufacturer, who informs the patients and when the archive gets packed. What works well is one person in the team who pulls all appointments together – the admissions committee, landlord, manufacturer service, IT provider and moving company. They keep a list of deadlines and stay in contact so that the doctors can carry on treating patients. If you are planning a medical practice move and a private move at the same time, keep the two dates deliberately separate.
The second building block is the order. Move in stages: first the archive, storage and rarely used rooms, then individual treatment rooms, and last of all reception, server and card terminal – ideally at a weekend. That way the practice keeps running at the old site for as long as possible. Treatment units and X-ray machines are dismantled and reconnected by the manufacturer's technicians; if you take X-rays, notify the authority of operation at the new site at least two weeks beforehand, with an expert's inspection report. We handle furniture, file containers and boxes. If the new practice is in another city, you will find information under long-distance move.

Survey, fixed price, dates to suit your plan
Call us on 01625978461. During the survey we go through your stage plan, record furniture, files and boxes and then give you a fixed price. We schedule the moving days to fit your opening hours and the equipment manufacturers' appointments.
Quotes available individually based on workload, scheduling and the desired scope of services.

Who takes on what in a practice move
One plan, many people involved
We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21) and, for a practice move, take care of dismantling, transporting and reassembling furniture, file containers and boxes, and on request the parking restriction zone (Halteverbotszone) too. The practice management coordinates permits, manufacturers and IT, while the team packs files and informs patients. If these roles are clear from the start, moving day runs calmly. We are liable for your goods under § 451e HGB at €620 per cubic metre; additional insurance is available for expensive equipment.
Coordination in the team
Stages instead of one big day
Technology by appointment
Patients kept informed
Six building blocks for a calm process
A practice move without the rush needs no magic, just six clear building blocks. Each of them can be done long before moving day and takes a lot of pressure off the move itself.
One appointment list
One room plan
Files in your own hands
Time slots for technology
Inform patients early
A buffer at the end
Moving individual rooms later?

Preparation,
stages, restart
A practice move affects medical and dental practices as well as physiotherapy, law firms or tax offices – anywhere confidential files and ongoing operations come together. It can be organised in three phases: preparation with deadlines and a room plan, moving in stages, and a restart with a technology check. If you want to plan the process step by step, you will find the deadlines in the article Planning a practice move.

Questions about organising a practice move
How a practice move in stages works
It starts with a survey of the old and new premises. We record furniture, filing cabinets and boxes and check access, floor and lift; then we give you a fixed price and agree with you which rooms move in which stage.
On the moving days we dismantle the furniture for each stage, transport sealed file containers separately and set everything up again by room number. Treatment units and X-ray machines are handled by the manufacturer, IT and the card terminal by your service provider. Reception follows last – then the practice opens at the new site.
Estimating costs and effort correctly
The cost of a practice move depends on the number of rooms, filing cabinets, floor, lift, access and distance, and with stages also on the number of moving days. After the survey we give you a fixed price in which each stage is listed as an item. If the move is to another city, we price it as a long-distance move.
Several stages cost a little more than one single big day, but often save closure days – and for a practice these are usually more expensive. Also allow for the manufacturer and IT appointments, which these companies invoice themselves. Sorting things out beforehand makes every stage smaller.
The price of your move
How much will my move cost? We are happy to answer that question directly: we move one-room flats from €344, two-room flats from €594, three-room flats from €905 and four-room flats from €1,279. If you live in a house or villa, you receive an individual quote from us, as the effort varies greatly. If you are moving further afield, we charge from €3.90 per kilometre for long-distance moves. The best way to clarify all the details is a free survey.
Price factors of a move at a glance
The price of your move depends mainly on the volume of your household and the distance between the two homes – we calculate transparently from €3.90/km. The floor, whether there is a lift and any parking restriction zone required also affect the cost. Additional services such as furniture assembly or a shared load can change the price individually.

Practice relocation to another city
We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21) and also plan practice moves over long distances, usually in one stage rather than several. Destinations with their own pages are shown in the locations overview, and routes from Berlin can be found under long-distance moves.
