Moving with assembly at a fixed price: how it is set and what it covers

Clearly calculated

Unsere Firma comes from Berlin-Moabit (Stromstraße 21), looks at your furniture and then gives you a fixed price for dismantling, transport and reassembly.

A fixed price for a move with furniture assembly is only as good as the list it is based on. That is why it starts with a survey: we record which furniture will be dismantled and reassembled, which wall fittings are added, how many floors have to be carried and whether there is a lift. This list determines the number of movers, the time needed and the price you know before moving day.

The fixed price covers what has been agreed – no more and no less. If a wardrobe that was not on the list turns up on moving day, or the kitchen suddenly needs to go up on the wall, we discuss the extra work with you beforehand. Work that a furniture fitter is not permitted to do, such as connecting gas appliances, is never part of it. What we do during assembly is described on the page Moving with assembly.

A fixed price for your move with assembly

After a survey – with a list of all furniture and wall fittings

Arrange a survey or send us a furniture list with photos. We will then give you a fixed price for your move with assembly, listing dismantling, transport, reassembly and agreed wall fittings separately – as well as what is not included. This lets you compare quotes and decide which furniture you might handle yourself. Phone: 01625978461.

Quotes available individually based on workload, scheduling and the desired scope of services.

IN THE PRICE

What a fixed price should include

Four components, set out in writing

We come from Berlin-Moabit (Stromstraße 21) and, after a survey, give a fixed price for a move with assembly. It is made up of four components, each listed separately in the quote – so you can see what you are paying for and take on individual items yourself if you want to save. The statutory liability of €620 per cubic metre of loading space under § 451e HGB applies in any case; additional insurance for expensive furniture is a separate item.

Dismantling

Dismantling the agreed furniture, screws in labelled bags, fronts and glass wrapped in blankets – listed item by item.

Transport

Carrying, loading, driving and unloading, depending on floors, lift, carrying distances and the distance between the two flats, including a parking restriction zone if agreed.

Assembly

Reassembly according to your layout plan, tall wardrobes with anti-tip protection, sliding doors aligned – on the same day or on the agreed following day.

Wall-mounted fittings

Wall cabinets, shelves and brackets only if they are listed individually in the quote – they take time per item and need a load-bearing wall.
FAIRLY ARRANGED

When the fixed price may change

A fixed price is binding – for the agreed service. With a move with assembly, there are typical situations in which the scope changes. In that case, the extra work is discussed with you beforehand, not afterwards.

01

Additional furniture

If a wardrobe turns up in the cellar on moving day that was not on the list, there is extra work – we raise this before dismantling.
02

New wall fittings

If shelves or wall cabinets are suddenly to go up on the wall, that is an additional service with its own time requirement.
03

Incorrect details

If the flat is on the fifth floor without a lift instead of the first, the calculation no longer holds – accurate details protect your price.
04

Full wardrobes

If wardrobes have not been emptied on moving day, the team has to wait. Agree who does the packing – a packing service is a separate item.
05

What is never included

Gas and cooker connections are handled by a qualified specialist; you pay for spare parts for broken old furniture directly to the manufacturer.
06

What stays the same

If assembly takes longer than expected without the scope having changed, the agreed fixed price stands.
FOR SMALL LOADS

Cheaper than a dedicated lorry

Shared load at its own price

If only a few pieces of furniture are moving, a shared load can lower the price considerably: your dismantled furniture travels with other jobs on the same route. This also comes at a fixed price – in return you get a time window instead of a fixed date, and assembly at the destination is agreed separately.

From
quote to invoice

What you receive and when

For a move with assembly at a fixed price, you should receive three things in writing: the quote with the list of services, the notice on liability and insurance options when the contract is concluded, and the invoice after the move. What to look out for in a quote is explained in the article Moving with assembly: what to look out for. If you only need assembly, furniture assembly is also available on its own; for tax matters, read Deducting moving costs from your tax.

The quote

It names every piece of furniture to be dismantled and reassembled, the wall fittings, floors and carrying distances, the assembly day and the fixed price. It also states what is not included – for example connecting the cooker or gas appliances.

The liability notice

When the contract is concluded, consumers must be clearly informed of the statutory liability of €620 per cubic metre of loading space and of the option of more extensive insurance (§ 451g HGB).

The invoice

It matches the fixed price if the scope has not changed. For the tax reduction under § 35a EStG, the labour costs count; pay by bank transfer, not in cash, and keep the invoice with your tax documents.

FAQ

Frequent questions

How the fixed price is set, what it includes and when it may change – answered briefly.
After a survey or on the basis of a furniture list with photos. We record which furniture will be dismantled and reassembled, which wall fittings are added, floors, lift, carrying distances and distance. This determines the number of movers, the time needed and the fixed price, which you receive in writing before moving day.

How the fixed price is set

The basis is the survey or a furniture list with photos. This shows how many hours dismantling and reassembly will take: a bed is quickly taken apart, while a wall unit with sliding doors or a fitted kitchen takes many times longer. On top of that come floors, lift, carrying distances, the distance and extra services such as a parking restriction zone or packing. The result is a fixed price in which these points are listed separately.

The more accurate the details, the more reliable the price: photos of all rooms, the dimensions of large furniture and notes on narrow stairwells or a lack of parking help with the calculation. It is best to say straight away what you would like to dismantle or pack yourself – that lowers the price.

What the fixed price covers – and what it does not

It covers the agreed service: dismantling, transport and reassembly of the listed furniture and the agreed wall fittings. The statutory liability for damage – €620 per cubic metre of loading space under § 451e HGB – applies in any case. Not covered is work by qualified specialists such as connecting a cooker or gas appliances (§ 13 NDAV), spare parts for furniture that breaks during dismantling because of its condition, and services that are only added on moving day.

For expensive furniture, additional insurance listed as a separate item in the quote is worthwhile. Consumers must be clearly informed of the statutory liability and this option when the contract is concluded (§ 451g HGB).
