Making a single move cheaper: six levers on the price

Singles' guide · Part 8
Where the money goes in a single move
Moving for less
The price of a single move depends above all on volume, route, floor and date – and you can adjust several of these levers yourself. If you declutter beforehand, you need a smaller vehicle. If you move on a weekday rather than at the end of the month, you have more choice of dates. And if you pack the boxes yourself, you only pay for carrying and transport. With us you get a personal contact who goes through these options with you.
We quote the fixed price after the survey, so you know in advance what the move costs. Another lever only comes later: as a household-related service, you can deduct 20% of the labour costs, up to €4,000 a year, from your tax (§ 35a EStG) – with an invoice and bank transfer. For the transport we are liable under the German Commercial Code (HGB). You will find more details of our offer under Private move.

Clarify savings potential during the survey
Fixed price after a survey, no timesheets
During the free survey we go through together where you can save: packing yourself, a weekday date, a part load or less volume. You then receive a fixed price for exactly this scope. Simply call us on 01625978461.
Offers available individually, depending on effort, scheduling and the scope of services required.

How we shape the price for you
Pay only for what you need
Not every single needs the full package. We put together the scope with you: only the heavy furniture, transport with boxes you have packed yourself, or everything including packing and assembly. We quote the fixed price after the survey, and for the transport we are liable under the HGB. We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21) and operate nationwide – whether for a small move within the city or a long-distance move.

Paying rent twice and the notice period are also covered. Destinations with their own page can be found in the locations overview.

Frequently asked questions about costs and saving on a single move
Decluttering as the first lever for saving
A single move offers the perfect opportunity to declutter and part with unnecessary ballast. Sort out early all the items you will no longer need in the new flat, and sell or donate them in good time before the moving date. That way you not only reduce the packing effort but also save hard cash, as less volume has to be transported.
Our moving helpers will gladly help you estimate the moving effort realistically and choose the right vehicle size. With smaller flats in particular, a part load is often worthwhile, which can save you considerable costs. Simply get in touch – we will advise you individually on the best moving solution for you.
Saving costs on a single move
Many singles underestimate how much moving costs can be reduced through clever planning. Booking early, flexible choice of a weekday date and doing without unnecessary extra services can reduce the price significantly. Packing smaller boxes yourself also saves additional costs, while larger and heavy pieces of furniture are transported professionally by our team.
With our transparent fixed-price model you also always keep track of your budget – with no nasty surprises at the end. Also make use of our advice on private moves to find the most suitable and cost-effective solution for you. You will find further ideas in the article Saving on moving costs: 12 tips.

How the price is made up – and where you save
As a rule: the larger the volume and the further the distance (from €3.80/km), the higher the price. The floor, lift and any necessary parking restriction zone are also factored in. Additional services such as furniture assembly or a part load round off the offer.
