Venlo long-distance move guide
From Berlin to Venlo: route, deadlines and paperwork
Via the A2 to the Maas
A move to Venlo crosses an internal EU border – no customs declaration is needed for your household goods. The planning effort lies elsewhere: according to the Rijksoverheid (Dutch central government), anyone staying longer than four months registers with the gemeente within five days of arrival, and from 2027 a zero-emission zone (Zero-Emissiezone) applies in the centre. We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21) and plan the roughly 593 km via the A2 so that loading day, unloading and your registration appointment fit together.
We give you the fixed price after the survey. Your belongings are covered by liability under the German Commercial Code (HGB) (§ 451e: €620 per m³), and additional insurance is available on request. Our private move includes packing, transport and furniture assembly. We answer questions about dates or volume by phone on 01625978461.

Partners, adult household members and minor children also attend. The stay must be lawful; EU citizenship is sufficient for this. Registration is free of charge; it applies from the day of registration. In the event of false information, the municipality can impose a fine of up to 325 euros.
- all identity documents (passport, ID card, driving licence),
- proof of nationality,
- tenancy or purchase agreement, or a declaration from the main occupant,
- original certificates from abroad; check on nederlandwereldwijd.nl whether a translation or apostille is required.

Venlo: zero-emission zone from 2027, parking hours and bulky waste
Venlo is getting a zero-emission zone which, according to the municipality, starts on 1 January 2027. It covers the centre, bounded by the Maas, Goltziusstraat, Koninginnesingel and Burgemeester van Rijnsingel. For lorries: vehicles first registered from 2025 may only enter if emission-free; Euro 6 box lorries from 2017 to 2019 may enter until 1 January 2028, those from 2020 to 2024 until 1 January 2030. From 2030 all lorries must be emission-free. Exemptions are handled by the RDW; for removal vehicles it names an exemption for 100 euros, valid in all zone municipalities until 1 January 2030 at the latest.
When parking, the times matter. According to the Gemeente Venlo, paid parking applies Monday to Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8 am to 7 pm, Thursday from 8 am to 9 pm and Sunday from 12 noon to 7 pm; outside these times parking is free. Parking permits (for example for nearby works) are applied for online at parkeren.venlo.nl or at the city office by appointment. The municipality names no rule there specifically for removal vans; ask on 14 077.
The municipality collects bulky waste from your home for a fee; the page does not state the amounts. Further information on districts and costs can be found in the guide to Venlo.
