Furniture Transport to the Czech Republic

Furniture to the Czech Republic
Single items and part loads to the Czech Republic
To Prague, Pilsen or Brno
From Berlin, Prague is closer than Munich: by road it is about 352 km via the A13, A17 and the Czech D8. That is why a furniture transport to the Czech Republic is often about single pieces – a chest of drawers for the flat in Prague, a bed for studying in Brno or furniture that follows on after the move. We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21) and, when you enquire, check whether a van is enough, whether the furniture can travel as a shared load or whether a lorry is needed. For this we need measurements, photos and the delivery address with floor.
The Czech Republic has been a member of the EU since 2004; there are no customs formalities for furniture and household goods. The choice of vehicle still matters: vans up to 3.5 t need an e-vignette on Czech motorways, while heavier vehicles pay a distance-based toll. For a whole household, read our guide to the long-distance move to the Czech Republic. Call us on 01625978461 – after a survey or a furniture list we give you a fixed price for your furniture transport to the Czech Republic.

Fixed price for your furniture to the Czech Republic
Collection, journey, toll and delivery in the quote
For your furniture transport to the Czech Republic, after a survey or a list with measurements and photos you receive a fixed price in which collection in Berlin, the journey, vignette or toll and delivery are listed separately. If the scope does not change, the price does not change either – regardless of how long the journey takes. Request a free quote.

What we clarify before the trip to the Czech Republic
Vehicle, access, handover
Before booking, we clarify what determines the furniture transport to the Czech Republic: how much loading space does the furniture take up, is a van up to 3.5 t enough or is a lorry needed, can the vehicle drive right up to the building, and who receives the furniture? In Prague in particular, entry restrictions apply to heavy lorries, so a smaller vehicle is often the better choice. We are liable for your belongings under the HGB, limited to €620 per cubic metre. Places with their own pages can be found under locations.

How we support you
Before collection, we clarify the scope and value of the furniture with you: the packing list determines the loading space and the price, and the value decides whether statutory liability is enough or additional insurance makes sense.

Your
move – fully organised
This guide covers furniture transport to the Czech Republic on a small scale: single pieces of furniture, a part load or things that follow on after the move. It deals with the choice between van, lorry and shared load, with vignette and tolls, packaging and the handover at the destination. What you take care of yourself after the move – reporting to the foreign police, car, health insurance – is explained in our checklist for emigrating to the Czech Republic. Further routes from Berlin can be found under long-distance moves.

Frequently asked questions about furniture to the Czech Republic
No customs – but a packing list and labelling
The Czech Republic has been part of the European Union and the Schengen Area since 2004. For furniture and household goods from Germany there is no customs clearance and no import duties; you do not have to show proof or purchase receipts at the border. Since 2024 Germany has been carrying out temporary checks at its land borders, which can mean waiting time but changes nothing for household goods. You still need a packing list: it determines the loading space in the quote, and on delivery you tick off every item.
For a shared load, the name, delivery address and number of items go on every piece of furniture and every box; screws go into a labelled bag attached to the furniture. You transport valuables and documents yourself. If you are moving to the Czech Republic yourself and staying longer than 30 days, report your place of residence to the foreign police within 30 days, unless your landlord does this – details are in our emigration checklist.
Van, lorry or shared load?
From Berlin to Prague it is about 352 km via the A13, A17 and the D8; Pilsen is about 441 km away, and Brno via the D1 about 558 km. For a few pieces of furniture to Prague, a van up to 3.5 t is often enough: it usually manages collection, journey and delivery in one day and only needs an e-vignette on Czech motorways. Heavier vehicles pay a distance-based toll via an on-board unit and are subject to entry restrictions in Prague.
A shared load is the cheaper choice if you accept a delivery window instead of a fixed day: your furniture travels with other jobs heading towards the Czech Republic. We set the price after a survey or a furniture list; collection, journey, vignette or toll and delivery are listed separately in the quote. At the destination we clarify the floor, lift and stopping place – in Prague's Old Town access is often tight. Photos of the entrance and stairwell help us with planning.
What do you pay for your move?
The costs depend on the size of the flat and the distance. Smaller 1-room flats move from €369. Slightly larger 2-room flats start from €589. For 3 rooms we calculate from €905, for 4 rooms from €1,309. If it is a house or villa, we always prepare an individual quote. For long-distance moves a per-kilometre price from €4.25 also applies. Secure a free survey now for a concrete quote.
What influences the moving price?
The price of your move is made up of several factors: the volume of your household, the distance between the old and new flat (from €4.25/km) and the floor and whether there is a lift. A required parking restriction zone is also reflected in the costs. Additional services such as furniture assembly or a shared load can also change the price.
