Digital helpers for moving alongside your job

Guide for working people · Part 2
Planning your move by smartphone – five minutes between two meetings
Lists, photos, online authorities
If you work full time, you usually plan your move in small gaps: on the train, in your lunch break, between two calls. You do not need a special app for this – a shared checklist, calendar reminders for deadlines and one photo folder per room are enough. We take care of the private move itself: packing on request, transport and assembly in the new flat.
Photos of the rooms and large pieces of furniture help us with the estimate; we give you the fixed price after the survey. You can read what our scope of services includes on the private move page. Your belongings are covered under the German Commercial Code (HGB), and additional insurance is available on request. We agree dates by phone or by message.

Send photos, agree the date
Fixed price after a survey – without paperwork
For working people with a tight schedule, every minute counts: call us on 01625978461, tell us the floor, whether there is a lift and the number of rooms, and send us photos of the large furniture if you like. After the survey you receive a fixed-price quote, also for weekend moves on a Saturday.
Offers available individually, depending on effort, scheduling and the scope of services required.

Less coordination, more time for your job
One contact person, clear arrangements
Working people have tight time windows and little appetite for long phone calls. That is why we keep the coordination short: key details on the phone, a survey, then a written fixed-price quote. You can send us your packing list or room plan in advance – then our movers know which box belongs in which room. Your belongings are covered under the HGB. What a private move includes is set out on the private move page.

Six digital habits for your move
Working people appreciate order without effort. These six habits each take only a few minutes – and save you searching and asking around your move.
One shared list
Deadlines in the calendar
Photos instead of notes
Number the boxes
Online instead of the office
One folder for everything
Part load for a few items
If you are moving only a few pieces of furniture or a small household, for example to a second home near your new workplace, you can use a part load: the cargo space is shared with other orders. An exact list with measurements helps us plan the space – especially for a long-distance move.

Plan
digitally, carry the old-fashioned way
The second part of our series Moving for working people is about digital helpers: shared lists, calendar reminders for deadlines, photos of your inventory and online re-registration. If you are changing city for a new job, you will find information on long-distance moves under long-distance moves. With few belongings, a part load is worth a look; destinations with their own page can be found under locations.

Frequently asked questions on digital move planning
Combining flexitime, home office and your calendar sensibly
Instead of using up your annual leave for the move, a combination of flexitime, home office days and one well-chosen day of leave is worthwhile. In your digital calendar, enter all moving tasks as fixed appointments – "fetch boxes", "photograph meter readings", "apply for parking restriction" – and block off off-peak times such as early mornings for them.
Share the calendar with your partner so that everyone can see who is taking on what. If a private move team takes care of carrying and assembly, there is usually only one day on which you really cannot work.
Re-registering online, moving contracts digitally
Many dealings with the authorities can now be done from your desk. In Berlin you can register online with a BundID account and the online ID function activated; you upload the landlord confirmation (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung), and the registration certificate arrives digitally. The deadline stays the same: two weeks after moving in (§ 17 BMG). How exactly this works is explained in the article Re-registering online.
You can usually change electricity, internet, the broadcasting licence fee and insurance in your customer account. Create a digital list for this and tick off each contract – ten minutes in the evening per day is enough.
How we calculate your moving price
The exact cost of a move depends on many factors – the size of the flat, the distance and extra services all play a role. As a guide: 1-room flat from €369, 2-room flat from €605, 3-room flat from €884, 4-room flat from €1,269. For houses and villas we always prepare an individual quote. For long-distance moves we charge from €3.85 per kilometre. The price can be determined most accurately during a free survey.
The details we need for the price
The calculation takes into account the volume, the distance (from €3.85/km), the floor and whether there is a lift. A no-parking zone (Halteverbotszone) is also taken into account. In addition, we offer a part load.
Services you can request online
You can request these services individually – with photos and a furniture list, the quote comes faster.
