Student Move at a Fixed Price

Student moves
Student move at a fixed price – what the price covers
and what it does not
A student move usually involves few pieces of furniture, a tight time window between the end of semester and the start of the tenancy, and a limited budget. That is why the most important question is often: what exactly will it cost? A fixed price answers it in advance. It is set after an inventory check via photos, video or a survey and applies to the scope described – regardless of whether the move takes an hour longer or the stairwell is narrower than expected. If the scope changes, the price changes too; more on that below.
Moves into student residences or shared flats often lack a lift and parking. Points like these belong in the inventory check, because they determine the effort and therefore the fixed price. What we take on for students is described under student move; if you are also bringing furniture from your parents' home, you can combine that with a private move. For a change to another city there are long-distance moves.

Send photos, get a price
Call 01625978461 or send photos. We calculate your student move by volume, floor, route and date and give you a fixed price. If a sofa or wardrobe is added on moving day, we tell you what it costs before loading.
Quotes available individually based on workload, scheduling and the desired scope of services.

How the fixed price is set
Inventory check, quote, date
We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21). For your student move, we first record furniture, boxes, floor, lift, carrying distance and route – via photos, video call or a survey. This produces a fixed price without hourly billing, with the booked services listed individually. If the details are correct on moving day, the amount stays the same, even if it takes longer. For your laptop, bookshelf and desk we are liable under § 451e HGB at €620 per cubic metre; for expensive electronics, additional insurance is possible.

What determines the fixed price
A fixed price is only as good as the details it is based on. These six points decide how high it turns out for a student move – and whether it stays that way on moving day. The more precisely you state them, the less room there is for extra charges.

Shared load: a fixed price for few belongings
For a few pieces of furniture over a long distance, there is also a fixed price with a shared load. Your belongings travel with other consignments on the same route, and you only pay your share of the loading space. This suits a change to another university well. In return, the delivery date has a few days of flexibility.

Fixed
price for different kinds of move
Whether it is a first move into your own room, a change of flatshare or a move to a university town in another city – the fixed price is always based on the same details: volume, floor, carrying distance, route, extra services. Narrow stairwells, little parking space outside an old building or a tight schedule between moving out and moving in belong in the inventory check. We drive from Berlin; destinations with their own page can be found in the locations overview.

Questions about the fixed price
From photo to fixed price: the process
After a short enquiry by phone or form, you send photos or arrange a video call; for larger moves we carry out a survey. This produces a fixed-price quote. On moving day we carry and transport your furniture all the way into the new flat or flatshare room.
Booked extra services such as packing or dismantling and reassembly are included in the price. That keeps the moving process predictable – even if there are only a few days between moving out and the start of lectures.
Fixed price or hourly rate?
With an hourly rate you pay for every delay – the missing parking space, the lift that does not come, the wardrobe that will not fit through the door. With a fixed price, the moving company bears this risk as long as your details are correct. For students on a small budget, this is usually the easier option to plan.
If you want to bring furniture from your parents' home, you should state this in the inventory check so that it is included in the fixed price. In the event of damage, liability under § 451e HGB at €620 per cubic metre applies regardless of the pricing model; additional insurance is possible.
