What does a part load cost?

Part load
Part load: you pay for the space, not the whole lorry
Understanding costs
At Beste Umzug Unternehmen, with a part load your belongings travel together with other consignments in the same direction. Our dispatchers plan the route so that your furniture arrives safely and the load space is well used. Because you share the vehicle and the journey, you pay less than for an exclusive transport. We give you the amount as a fixed price after a survey or based on your inventory list.
On request we take care of packing and load securing; we are liable for damage under the HGB (§ 451e: €620 per m³), and additional insurance is possible. For private moves with a smaller moving volume, the part load is particularly attractive – you can find out more under Private move. Your furniture is secured separately from other people's goods. This way you save without compromising on care.

What you can count on with a part load
Clearly calculated, safely loaded
Even if your belongings take up only part of the load space, we treat every part load as a job in its own right. We give you the price as a fixed price after a survey or based on your inventory list; liability is under the German Commercial Code (HGB), and additional insurance is available on request. We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21) and bundle routes within Germany and abroad. This way you save money without sacrificing care.

Frequently asked questions about the cost of a part load
How a part load works – step by step
A part load begins with a no-obligation enquiry in which we record your moving volume and the desired period. Our dispatchers then check which routes suit your destination, and you receive a fixed price after a survey or based on your inventory list. As several customers use one trip, we agree a time window for collection and delivery.
On moving day our staff pack and secure your belongings so that they travel separately from other consignments. After the journey they are unloaded and set up at your new home. We are liable for damage under the HGB (§ 451e: €620 per m³); if you want more cover, you can book additional insurance.
Cost factors with a part load
The costs of a part load depend mainly on the moving volume, the distance and flexibility on dates. Those who can adapt to existing routes usually pay considerably less than for a transport on their own. Access to the flat, such as the floor or parking options, also affects the effort.
With us you receive a fixed price after a survey that lists all agreed services. Additional services such as packing material or furniture assembly can be booked as options. The article Calculating part-load costs shows how to estimate the volume yourself.

What goes into the price besides load space
The price depends on volume, distance (from €4.25/km) and floor. A missing lift and a required parking restriction zone (Halteverbotszone) add to the effort. You can also book furniture assembly or a part load.
Services around the part load
These modules can be combined with a part load or replace it.
- Company relocation: Company relocation on a fixed date
- House clearance: House clearance reduces the volume
- Move with assembly: Move with assembly for wardrobes and beds
- Furniture transport: Furniture transport for single items

Part loads over long distances
On long routes a part load saves the most, because the journey accounts for the largest share of the costs. We are based in Berlin and drive nationwide and abroad; more under Long-distance moves and in the overview of locations.
