New in Leoben: Registration Form City Bus, Parking Permit

Leoben for newcomers
New on the Mur: How to Settle In Well in Leoben
The first few weeks
Leoben is the second-largest city in Styria after Graz; its old town lies in a loop of the river Mur. With the voestalpine plant in Donawitz, Leoben is one of the most important locations of the Austrian steel industry, and the Montanuniversität (University of Leoben) is one of Europe's main centres of education for metallurgy, mining, materials science and petroleum engineering. This guide sorts out your first weeks: the registration form (Meldezettel), registration certificate, districts, city bus, parking and waste. We handle the transport as a home removal.
We have no branch in Austria: we come from Berlin-Moabit (Stromstraße 21) and carry out moves to Leoben and back. Within the EU your household goods need no customs declaration. Your belongings are covered under the HGB (§ 451e: €620 per m³), with additional insurance on request. The route and driving time are described on the page Moving Berlin – Leoben; whether the removal lorry needs a permit from the city, we clarify with you in advance, as well as the floor, carrying distance and delivery day at the new address.

Non-Binding Quote for Your Move to Leoben
Fixed price after a survey, liability under the German Commercial Code (HGB)
Whether a flat in the city centre, in Donawitz or a house in Judendorf: after a survey or video survey we give you a fixed price for your move to Leoben – with no hidden costs, as long as the scope stays the same. We include the floor, carrying distance and access in the old town. Call us on 01625978461 for a non-binding quote.
Quotes available individually based on workload, scheduling and the desired scope of services.

Before Moving Day in Leoben
Access, stairwell, date
We come from Berlin and bring your household goods to Leoben. Before moving day we clarify with you where the removal lorry can stand in front of the new address and whether a permit from the city is needed for this, whether the stairwell in the old building has a lift, and how steep the access is, for example on hillsides such as Hinterberg. On request we dismantle and reassemble furniture and pack fragile items. We set the price after the survey (fixed price), and your belongings are covered under the HGB. You hand in the registration form at the town hall yourself.

The city also names Waasen and Lerchenfeld as residential areas; Lerchenfeld has had its own S-Bahn (suburban rail) stop since 2021.
