Price overview
What does a move cost? Starting prices and everything that comes on top
Understanding costs
The costs of moving depend on numerous factors: flat size and volume, distance, floor and additional services such as packing or furniture assembly. Our price list therefore gives starting prices by number of rooms, not final prices. At Beste Umzug Unternehmen you receive a binding fixed price after the survey, in which every service is listed separately. That way you know before booking what sum to expect.
An often underestimated cost factor is the distance: while a private move within a city is calculated mainly on working time, long-distance moves add per-kilometre prices. For damage we are liable under the German Commercial Code (HGB) (§ 451e: €620 per m³); additional insurance for valuable items is available. You book packing service, house clearance or assembly separately. And: the labour costs of a private move reduce your tax by 20%.

Every
type of move, its own costs
Whether a private move, office move or long-distance move – every type of move has its own cost factors. With a senior move it is time and additional services that count, with a company move the tight schedule. No-parking zones and lifts also change the final price. We will advise you on which services you really need. How the volume is calculated is explained in the article Price per cubic metre.

Frequently asked questions on moving prices
Cost factors in detail: what changes the price
The most important factor in calculating moving costs is the volume of the goods in cubic metres. Floors without a lift, the parking situation in front of both buildings and the driving time also have a direct effect on the final price.
Additional services such as a packing service, dismantling and reassembling furniture or storage increase the total costs but save time and effort. Which of these apply to you is listed separately in the quote after the survey. If you plan early and are flexible with the date, you have more choice.
How to cut costs – and get some of it back
For small amounts a part load is cheaper, and a date in the middle of the month is easier to get. A weekday date helps too. Packing yourself and sorting things out beforehand reduces volume and working time.
For a private move, 20% of the labour costs reduce income tax as a household-related service (§ 35a EStG, up to €4,000 a year) – with an invoice and payment into the firm's account. If the move is for work reasons, the costs are income-related expenses (Werbungskosten).
Starting prices by number of rooms
The starting prices at a glance: our prices start at €365 for a 1-room flat. For 2 rooms the starting price is €609, for 3 rooms €884 and for 4 rooms €1,309. We calculate larger properties such as villas or houses individually. Long-distance moves are no problem either – here we charge from €4.25 per kilometre. Get no-obligation advice as part of a free survey.
From starting price to fixed price: these factors count
The price is determined by the volume, the distance (from €4.25/km) and the number of floors. A lift reduces the effort; a no-parking zone involves fees but saves carrying distance. A part load also changes the amount.
Services and what they add to the price
Services and what they add to the price
Every building block is listed separately in the quote – so you can see what it costs.
- Furniture transport: single items, from antiques to a new sofa.
- Move with assembly: dismantling and reassembly as a separate item.
- Private move: the whole household, calculated after a survey.
- Company move: offices, practices and shops by workstations.
- House clearance: less volume, lower transport price.
- Part load: travel along at good value on planned routes.
Long-distance move: starting price plus kilometres
For a nationwide move, the price per kilometre is added to the starting price. We are based in Berlin and travel to all regions; destinations with their own page are listed in the locations overview, more under Long-distance moves.
