Moving from north to south: a long route, a clear schedule
From the coast to the south
A long-distance move from north to south is usually one of the longest routes within Germany: by road it is around 776 km from Hamburg to Munich, around 873 km from Kiel and around 705 km from Bremen to Freiburg. We accompany you from the survey to the last box in your new flat and plan the route, breaks and arrival time so that unloading is still possible at the destination. From Berlin it is shorter: Munich is around 585 km away via the A9. You can find more about our core service under Private move.
Whether it is a family move, a change of job or a return home – a long-distance move across Germany needs a date that works at both ends and transport that keeps your belongings well secured. We calculate based on volume, kilometres and access and provide drivers and a carrying team to suit the route. We are based in Berlin (Stromstraße 21); pages on individual places can be found under Locations. That way a long route becomes a moving day you can plan.

Frequently asked questions about moving from north to south
How your long-distance move from north to south works
Every long-distance move begins with a free survey or video consultation, in which we record the scope, floors and special items. We then draw up a detailed schedule including packing day, transport day and, if necessary, interim storage, so that the long route is organised smoothly.
On moving day our team takes care of proper packing, transport in a suitable removal lorry and loading and unloading at both locations. Thanks to a fixed contact person and ongoing communication, you always keep track of your long-distance move across Germany.
Long routes: driving times and load securing
Routes between northern and southern Germany are often 600 to over 800 kilometres long: Hamburg–Stuttgart around 655 km, Hamburg–Munich around 776 km. Under EU law, a lorry driver may drive for no more than 9 hours a day and must take a 45-minute break after 4.5 hours. Because a removal lorry travels more slowly than a car, Hamburg–Munich exceeds this limit; for this we plan in a second driver or an overnight stop.
We secure every load with blankets and straps. We are liable for damage under the HGB, limited to €620 per cubic metre; report visible damage by the day after delivery at the latest.
Honest prices for your move
We believe in transparency: 1-room flats from €354, 2-room flats from €605, 3-room flats from €905, 4-room flats from €1,289. If you live in a house or villa, we will prepare an individual quote for you. For long-distance moves: from €4.25/km. Arrange a free survey today.
What does the price of your move depend on?
Key criteria are the moving volume, the distance (from €4.25/km) and the floor, with or without a lift. A reserved parking restriction zone ensures things run smoothly. If needed, we add furniture assembly or a shared load to your move.
